Read this fanfic http://www.equestriadaily.com/2011/07/story-past-sins.html Description: On a dark night filled with even darker magics, an insane cult attempts to give Nightmare Moon a body and life of her own, utterly separate from Princess Luna. But, when the spell is interrupted by Celestia, something unexpected is created. Now, an little black alicorn filly named Nyx finds herself living under the care of Twilight Sparkle, only to be haunted by memories and emotions from her past. Well, that's in my opinion. Honestly, I haven't been so thrilled about a story since Harry Potter. And I do believe this one is even better. Mind the spelling mistakes on the last three chapters, it was just released and will probably be revised in the near future ![]() it is actually completed now. Might get revised once but its complete. But i must absolutely suggest more fanfics than just the one Fallout Equestria: http://www.equestriadaily.com/2011/04/story-fallout-equestria.html Description: Fallout. With ponies! Set in an alternate future, one pony must learn to survive in a blasted, poisoned land... and possibly, with the aid of friends made along the way, bring new light into the darkness of post-apocalyptic Equestria. It combines fallout, ponies and it is VERY GOOD at combining it. Sure the mane cast is dead but it still makes for a nice read and you get to see them often in flashbacks. Dangerous Business: http://www.equestriadaily.com/2011/04/its-dangerous-business-going-out-your.html Description: When an accident leaves Twilight Sparkle seriously ill, Applejack, Rainbow Dash, and Rarity must undertake a perilous journey to find her a cure. What adventures await them beyond Equestria's borders? Applejack has never really had her own episode in season 1. This story remedies that and its a great read. Simply Rarity. http://www.equestriadaily.com/2011/06/story-simply-rarity.html Description: An argument between her friends has brought to question Rarity's generosity. Can a unicorn who's had everything and nothing truly be generous? its kinda sad and tries to pull your heartstrings in a very provoking manner by providing Rarity with a backstory.

I added a fanfic section to the op, since it seems to merit it, I basically copy pasted your and Zephirdd's posts into it, I hope that's ok. If anyone wants anything added, just shoot me a PM, please do it in a format similar to the one in the above post, so that it all meshes. @TheRealPaciFist, please keep going with your write ups, if it reaches a decent length I'll compile it all into one post and link it in the OP ^_^ EDIT: Also, rarity in 4th place in the poll! Episode 6 + Show Spoiler + Not much to say on this one... except, what was the name of the Dark Arts professor in the second Harry Potter? Gallehard? Gillihead? Something-locket? I have no idea. Gillihead was the same show-off sort of character, except he was good at the mind erasing magic, which made him a slightly unusual twist on the character (and more malicious). This one... will probably be remembered as much for Ursa Minor as for anything else, and the most memorable part of the Ursa Minor conflict was probably the cartoon mechanic of using a water tower full of milk to sedate the baby beast. There was not as much character development as the previous episode, with Pinkie and Rainbow Dash... so meh. Also, the little talks at the end between Twilight and Celestia are annoying... though not as bad as the intro music, which I just skip. Now I'm gonna skip episode 7, but I'll probably re-watch it eventually

This episode I liked, maybe because it was so cool seeing the dumbass get humiliated like that. End fight was pretty fun yeah. And I agree that some episodes completely ignore certain characters, which is a shame I guess but it's no big deal. I'm sorta surprised Fluttershy didn't go cuddle the Ursa though. :p

The first seconds of the theme might've as well been a clip of nails on chalkboard, yeah. It was meant as a throwback to the original, and they've since announced having "remastered" the track (presumably eliminating the violating part in the process). Interestingly, the recently lauched Italian version of the show seems to have received a completely different intro of its own. It's a bit long, but the second part is surprisingly catchy.

+ Show Spoiler + The idea of people being forced to spend time together because they're stuck under the same root, the same shelter for storm... is a great premise, and a classic. It's a fantasy staple: road wary travelers stay at an inn and exchange stories over food and dark, rich beer - or whatever drink is most appropriate for the setting. An inn is where four hobbits met the Strider, an inn is where Gaiman's World Ends. Of course, shelter from storm can also be taken up in any home with anyone's hospitality. In this case, guests are forced to reconcile their differences for their joint friendship with their host. And did I mention I like rain? And how could you not like slumber parties as a kid (the male equivalent, anyway)? Also, Twilight is so cute in this one. Also, I was sure that the first pillow thrown would hit Rarity from the right side of the screen instead of the fourth wall. I thought she was going to get knocked over like a bowling pin, ha Also, the main obstacle of the episode (I was about to say conflict, but that's obviously the butting heads of Rarity and AJ) is a tree that's crashed into the middle of Twilight's bedroom. As far as I know, that is NOT a cliche =P and Twilight of course wonders whether or not it counts as camping Question: how many ponies are voiced by the same voice actresses?

Do I want to know? 2) The Italian version reminds me of J-pop. And I've watched just enough anime in my life time (ooooooh, that's the last time I watched a cartoon! Cowboy Bebop! Awesome, awesome cartoon) for that to be a positive connotation (before Cowboy Bebop it was Full Metal Panic!, also very awesome). Regardless... the Italian version is a definite improvement

The idea was to open (unbearably) softly and low-tempo in spirit of the old MLPs before switching gears for the rest of the theme (and show). Kids and nostalgic mothers probably didn't mind, but... yeah... Warning: NSFT(estes)! + Show Spoiler +

I'm left wondering if I missed something, because it felt so entirely predictable... boring... only thing that wasn't was the pun on super naturals. Heh. Then again, many don't seem to appreciate episode 8 very much at all. I'm certainly enjoying the fresh perspective.

Haha, I would not have expected that Episode 10 + Show Spoiler + Star Trek tribbles that look like adorable locust termites are defeated by a one-woman polka band pied piper pony. Cool. I enjoyed Pinkie going off and doing her own thing way back in episode 1, and I'm glad to see it again. Also, I'm glad to see all the other ponies attempting to solve the problem, making valiant efforts that come close to working. Dash's tornado is creative. Twilight's attempt is another one of many examples of why "magic doesn't solve everything" as Harry Dresden would point out, or "nothing is ever easy" as Zedicus Zul Zorander would say. Fluttershy's inability to let the cute critters go after AJ deals with them shows her character flaw. Nice cameo by Zebra. And best of all, Pinkie, the ostensible hero of this episode, is not without her own flaw of lacking communication skills (despite being the fastest talker) Not to mention, great tribute to the classic looney-toons at the end there
