I'm left wondering if I missed something, because it felt so entirely predictable... boring... only thing that wasn't was the pun on super naturals. Heh.
Then again, many don't seem to appreciate episode 8 very much at all. I'm certainly enjoying the fresh perspective.
Star Trek tribbles that look like adorable locust termites are defeated by a one-woman polka band pied piper pony. Cool.
I enjoyed Pinkie going off and doing her own thing way back in episode 1, and I'm glad to see it again. Also, I'm glad to see all the other ponies attempting to solve the problem, making valiant efforts that come close to working. Dash's tornado is creative. Twilight's attempt is another one of many examples of why "magic doesn't solve everything" as Harry Dresden would point out, or "nothing is ever easy" as Zedicus Zul Zorander would say. Fluttershy's inability to let the cute critters go after AJ deals with them shows her character flaw. Nice cameo by Zebra. And best of all, Pinkie, the ostensible hero of this episode, is not without her own flaw of lacking communication skills (despite being the fastest talker)
Not to mention, great tribute to the classic looney-toons at the end there
This is the point in the season where I really started to enjoy the episodes a lot more rather than constantly question why I kept watching.
Right now I want nothing more in the world than to hear Pinkie say, "Remember that time we pretended we were going to murder you and I was like Good-Bye! and you were like NO WAY!...That was great."
Pausing to reflect... noooo I am not a brony. Nooooooo way jose. Nope. I'm just a... I'm an enthusiast for many shows. Like Cowboy Bebop and FMP! to name a couple of anime. This is just another show.
...lol... either way I'll watch some more tonight or tomorrow
Heh, I felt the same way half way through, but I kept watching anyways. Regardless of the outcome, at least you have an open mind enough to watch the show and decide for yourself rather than the nay-sayers who refuse to watch an episode because it challenges their manliness. So to you I say:

You dig too greedily and too deep. You don't know what we awoke in the darkness of the hiatus... + Show Spoiler +

That's good to hear! Honestly, the people who enjoy this show are some of the nicest people on the internet, which is pretty amazing in itself considering it made people from 4chan better people (no easy task).

There are levels to brony. If you would describe yourself as an enthusiast, I would say, when coupled with your age, that counts.
And about pinkie pie: Without giving too many spoilers, umm, be careful what you wish for. I didn't particularly like the episode that went in that direction.

agree. There ARE levels to brony. There is the lowest level, where you like the show and that's it. There is the common level, where you like the show and fan-made content a lot. There is the higher-than-common, where you read fanfics all the time, and even make your own fics/drawings constantly. Then there is the very high brony, where you start including ponies into... crazy stuff, I'd say, like gore and sex.

Nothing can suppress basic human nature. What we do have down to an art-form is the next-best thing: self-moderation. Whenever someone would to lose their cool, there's always a critical mass of upstanding fellows around to defuse the situation. It's peer pressure harnessed for good!
I guess people who have changed their names to Rainbow Aleksi Dash and Kim Fluttershy Dykas fall into the uber brony category. Related: Twilight Sparkle's Black Hole diagram.

I actually find it quite curious that the FiM-brand unicorns/ponies in general would be associated with the "flaming" gay culture. If anything, they feel almost... nerdy...? Like... comic books or D&D?

Really? I think using the pointless middle-name system for something cool is pretty awesome. Just like custom license plates, the worst they'll do is give some cop a laugh when getting in trouble.

heh they might even get lucky if the cop happened to be a brony as well
also to be quite honest though, it had actually crossed my mind as well to change my name to something similar, and also stuff like getting a MLP-related tattoo or something... I highly doubt I am ever going to do any of those, but still... considering those even for just a few seconds... what has this show done to me... (and I don't even mind it)
So one thing I don't really understand is the whole "cupcake" reference that is made in the Call of the Cutie Marks episode (#12) ... apparently it's a reference to pony-flavoured cupcakes? Can anyone explain? :x
