It has nothing to do with dismissing a visitor, because dismissal would be "go away", not "the information you seek is readily available if you care enough to go looking for it by reading the first post." In other words, if you're on TL.net and you don't read the OP, expect to be called on it. =)

But let me ask you something. In the gay SC players thread, you said you go out of your way to answer questions. How many of them are along the lines of "Why are you gay? I don't understand it at all. What do you see in being gay?" Because unless you're happy to put up with leading questions that puts the onus on the questioned to defend themselves, and you never get tired of them after 470 pages, it doesn't equate. What you did was basically start off with an argument from personal incredulity, i.e. "I can't understand that people would legitimately like this", and then you put the burden on us to respond specifically to you to show you that we actually do. Do you understand why people might find that annoying?

Lastly, the phrase "I think some of you could learn a thing or two from the ponies" is an insulting passive-aggressive jab taken whilst sitting atop a high horse, and it doesn't impress me in the slightest.

I'm hoping for more of a "lore and personal backstory" from this episode. I mean, ponies and dragons aren't shown as having a very good working relationship, and dragons aren't all that common in Equestria. We can assume that Spike's egg was laid by another dragon, not conjured from the ether or whatever, but then where did Celestia get it? Did she steal it, find it beside the road, was it dropped off on her doorstep in a basket? Are dragons social creatures? Did something happen to Spike's parents, or do dragons just leave their young to fend for themselves like sea turtles? I'm really curious how they're going to go about this one myself. Guess you could call me "cautiously optimistic."

I didn't really like this episode. It might have been for my not-enthousiastic approach to Pinky Pie, but the end was too sudden. It was predictable that we would get some story out of an old pony, but 'here's your pony you were searching for now smile' was done way too quickly for my taste.

I thought it was pretty good. I liked the vocal similarity between Cranky and Eeyore, and "Smile" was pretty good. It's not going in my Top 5 or probably even Top 10 of season 2, but it was better than I expected from a Pinkie Pie episode. And Rainbow Dash reading another Daring-Do book? I love continuity, especially when it's a little more subtle like that.

And Derpy in the snowglobe was priceless.

Welp, that episode was easily top 4 of all time, if not 3rd best, at least that's what my initial reaction says. Watching this again later will probably guarantee it at least top 5.

In my typical way of responding to the episode, no spoiler tags, just vague comments. The man tears, they could not be contained.

OH my that song is best in show. pretty good episode otherwise. but that song really puts this ep so high in the power ranks. The ending to the song is so epic I don't even know it made me smile in the whole way though but that ending made me really happy.

solid episode, above average. I liked all of the references to other episodes without it being too intrusive (wisconson cow, babies, reading rainbow, lotus and aloe, namedropping manehatten and fillydelfia, the gala, probably forgetting some off the top of my head.) I didn't like the song as much though. The music itself was good, but the lyrics were cringe worthy, so it was an ok song overall.

Pinkie Pie said her birthday is in 75 days. For those counting, that's May 3rd. If you look at the date "Party of One" first aired, it's April 29th 2011. Four days before Pinkie's actual birthday.

I mean I doubt that's intentional, but if it is...
