Setup is mostly the same for ChatZilla. I hope to see everypony there! The list has been completed for a few days now and the stream should be working just fine. I'll be starting a couple minutes early to let the stream and viewers settle in before we kick off. There will also be a few PMVs before and after the Mareathon itself as a sort of "pre/post show" event. This is not at all #tlponies Mareathon 3. I'm doing this one completely on my own and it's a more modest, low-key event. It will be a while yet before our next full-blown Mareathon with contests and Cane and I hosting. On the Omnipony Soarin' Through the Ice: I used that as the first song of the pre-show on the Dec 11th Mareathon. On the 4chan board: I'm not sure if it's a sign of Moot finally conceding ultimate defeat at the hooves of the bronies or it's just a "gas chamber" tactic, similar to what he did a few years ago to the furry community. It could also be a ploy to try to merge the /b/ and /co/ halves of the fandom, two sects that hate each other, into one place, and have them destroy the 4chan side of the fandom from within. It's one of those three, for sure. And even though it's labeled as "SFW", it's not. | ||

The first time I ever saw anything MLP:FIM was back when it was allowed on 4Chan in the summer. I didn't watch it until months later, but still - to me 4Chan and ponies go together ridiculously well (I still browsed /b for Pony threads even after the ban, but browsing /b can be mortifying). | ||

Today i'd like to share some of my thoughts with you. After another one of these days where nothing seems to go right at all I found myself in my room on a Friday night with nothing for company except a headache and a feeling of frustration at certain people and the goings on in the world around me I ended up browsing the internet, and as ever I found myself looking at Pony related stuff eventually. This time however instead of the usual remixes and fan made songs or getting happily lost in that endless labyrinthe of Kyrospawn's pony clips I listened to the songs we all know and love, the ones from the show itself, Giggle at the ghosties, Winter wrap up and all the rest. Now of course this isnt that unusual, I know all these songs by heart by this point (as many bronies do ofc) but it was different today somehow, I really watched and listened rather than just chilling with it on in the background and gosh, It felt like I had been transported back in time and was discovering the Ponies all over again. Before I knew it my foul mood had been vanquished and replaced by a feeling of contentment and the realization that although the community we have built around MLP is completely amazing and fantastic to be a part of it is NOT integral to my enjoyment of the show even slightly, this is a fantastic thing they have created here and the community is just an added bonus (albeit a time consuming and if I may say so fucking awesome one.) I got into the Brony boat pretty early, around the time season 1 ended and before the community as a whole became completely enormous so this realization is not completely new one to me, since I was in love with the show for a time before I became part of any community. but it is one that may have dulled a bit during the long hiatus between Season 1 and Season 2 where the growing community supplied me with a constant source of Pony related entertainment. I sometimes found myself getting hooked up on the things that come with being part of a fandom of this nature, (completely avoidable unless you have a personality like mine hah) like the arguments about why I enjoy the things I enjoy, why I don't hate people who are Furrys (quite a few prominent community members are one) and proving to the world who isnt listening that we are not crazed pedophiles or some other rediculous things of that nature. I've decided to cut all that baggage loose and from now on I'm just going to enjoy the show and the fan content without concerning myself with haters and neighsayers outside of the community or the elements within the community with a undeserved sense of entitlement that made me want to break my keyboard in two in nerd rage. I'm certain many people here do the same thing and just enjoy without worrying about what others think I can see now how fruitless it is and far from just enjoying the show I love which is MLP and all the awesome it offers. Problem is, ponies have so many other (and quite frankly less likely to permanently scar you) places on the interwebs that it's just not necessary anymore. I'm not going to bother with it; Equestria Daily, Everfree Radio and DeviantArt have more than enough pony content to keep me swimming in marshmallow for years to come, and I'm less likely to run across stupid shit in the process of acquiring ponies while disregarding pretty much everything else. | ||
