What we're seeing is an acceleration of the Dorne plotline to the point where I guess it will eventually end up. Yes, this is crude, but it makes sense in light of GRRM's penchant to (perhaps needlessly) balloon the number of arcs in the story line. And I don't really see the problem with the Sand Snakes showing up in Kings Landing to kill Trystan. There's no reason why they couldn't have taken another boat after the Lannisters left. What do you mean about "fake Aegon"?. Have I missed a detail from the books, isn't the Young Griff-character really Aegon?

Maybe the Sand Snakes will be the downfall of the Lannisters. I'm sure Dorne will have some sort of major role in the books, but if you change this much, might as well change that too if this is the best filler they can come up with.

Sansa and Brienne is disappointing. Brienne is like batman. Each individual feat may be acceptable, but when you add it up, it's not realistic. I guess I was hoping Sansa would take on the lady Stoneheart role and join up with the brotherhood and get revenge on the Freys and Boltons. That seems doubtful now. I can still accept this storyline for its simplifying the story, which may be necessary for television. I'm okay with what they're doing with Dany, although I have a bad feeling the super Daario brothers will perform miraculous feats of strength on their way towards saving her and that'll be stupid. Hopefully I'll be surprised. I like Tyrion and Varys banter and think their time in Mereen will be interesting and possibly better than the book version. Jaime's lack of transformation is disappointing. He showed so much growth during his journey with Brienne and in the books during Riverrun revisited. It seems like that was all thrown away this episode. Maybe he'll continue his growth as he battles and then possibly joins the high sparrow, but it seems doubtful. Fuck Dorne. They should have just cut that entire arc if this is what they were going to do with it. My guess is that they will try to replace the Golden Company invasion of Westeros with a Dorne invasion. I don't know why we couldn't skip Dorne and bring in the vengeful Doran in season 6 or 7 when "now is the time to strike" as his army starts to conquer.

They managed to butcher awesome scenes and plots from the books, now when they got nothing but their own (lack of) brains every episode is going to be dumber than ever. If it is so bad, why are you watching it?

The difference is at least there isn't as much dedicated plotline to the dorne plot in the show. The book one felt like it went forever and seemed so stupid. I hate both versions, only nice thing about the shows version is it's very little screen time and hopefully has very little for the rest of the season. Agreed. I can understand not liking some parts like Dorne, but the amount of complaining is lol worthy. Yeah dunno some guys only care about plot advancement and action, at least that's what i get from your comment. So be it then i guess.

Frankly, everything that was introduced since the conclusion of A Storm of Swords has been mediocre at best and outright boring at worst. Both Books 4 and 5 were largely tedious. I think GRRM gets more credit than he deserves as an author. I disagree, although admittedly sam and briennes stories are the worst things ever AFFC has some really good stories. We are introduced to Euron, Jaime has his final growth as a character and its great to see. Cersei fucking goes batshit and destroys everything. Doran is easily one of the most interesting characters. Even if you don't buy into DMP there is more than he is letting on. Plus his Fire and Blood speech and the EB speech are some of the best parts of the books.

Because the fatso didn't finish the book before show started. Since I am going to get spoilered anyways before that book is out, I might as well watch it.

There is so much potential stuff which would be amazing. I don't have any storyline i am not excited about i think. They all left at points where shit will go down, AFFC and ADWD kinda acted like AGOT and ACOK, they set up a lot of different plotlines which all made ASOS so great. I feel like TWOW will be equally amazing. The new Dance of Dragons could be amazing for example. The white walkers finally invading, Euron as the big joker. I think people will like the new book a lot more again because it wll have lots of action and GRRM won't split the characters again afaik.

I think Sansa drying out instantly after leaving the river and then getting saved by Brienne in a perfect moment (altough I guess following Bolton thugs is a legit explanation) was waaaay worse than the Dornish scenes (excluding dialogues). Jaime still loving Cersei bothers me a bit but in a different way. I don't like it because I don't like his choice, not because the events make no sense. Maybe I'm in the minority but I'm interested in Victarion's subplot. Jaime too, altough I wasn't a big fan of Lady Stoneheart. I hope it will develop into something good Edit: mainline Martells are gone but can't Dornish bastards inherit titles when there are no mainline relatives left?

I hope they rectify it and go back to the book storyline. It was just one of the better plots of the books in my opinion. Plus NCW is such a talented actor born to play the part, it'd really sting if the story doesn't hold up.

Everything else is easily forgiven.

Agreed hopefully he goes to the riverlands of his volition and not out of love for Cersei/the situation in KL being rectified.

The big one has to be the reveal about whatever nuance or downright world view shattering thing happens around learning what the Other's deal is. Littlefinger and Doran's schemes are top among the plots for which we already know a reasonable amount. Still significantly into Tyrion too. I don't mind that he's gone to the dark side. An anti-villain at GRRM's character quality sounds like a great path for Tyrion (and Arya, and Dany, and Jaime...so maybe it is too dangerous to use terms like that in asoiaf). Obligatory "Dragons and Arya are cool too; which will have the bigger body count by the end?".
