I got into dubstep from friends, listening to a mix of new and older stuff, and although before I only really enjoyed rocking my heads to the drops and heavier stuff, but after reading up here I'm really liking the older stuff.
Keep the suggestions coming :D. And one ive really enjoyed lately

However, it is coming out on Lifted Music on Monday 9 May.
Chasing Shadows remix is decent imo. Pacifica reminds me of Spor's Feed Me style alot (very glitchy/tech sounding) also probably because it's not dnb.
Lifted music is known to lag it hard on releases. May 9th is ultra official now though.
I like some of the DnB and Electro/House producers that have made some dubstep tracks. Feed Me and Nero are definitely my favorites, and a lot of their best has already been posted in this thread, and the other one that's CharlieMurphy's old blog.
What he is saying is true though. Skrillex or any other brostep producer is currently just masturbating to "epic" drops without having any soul in their music. I guess that's what you lose when a genre is going mainstream. Go listen to some Digital mysticz/mala/early skream or anyother producer that makes dubstep and not brostep, light that spliff and chill instead of being one of those fools who thinks you mosh to dubste and that Skrillex is the single greatest producer.
feel free to laugh:
There is a middle ground though. A lot of dubstep people claim to not be "generic" or "stale" is just plain boring. I want those dirty drops and what not, it's why I listen to dubstep.
EDIT: Also remember all forms of music have a "pop" side to them. Blues has people like the black keys. Rock has people like the strokes. Jazz has that stale elevator music. Etc. Don't be mad or sad, or judge others for liking the pop, just don't listen to it if you don't like it.
I just got into dubstep a few weeks ago, and was wondering if anyone out there could give me a few recommendations perhaps? I prefer the *lighter* dubstep so much more, stuff like Burial, James Blake, Jamie Xx, Jamie Woon, etc. Sadly, that is pretty much the extent of my knowledge when it comes to that kind.
