Oh my jeeesus, it took me 2 weeks to get through this thread. I found a few Dubstep(brostep? w/e the hype shit) songs by chance, a lot of my friends liked it, asked me to put it in a playlist and find some more. I don't youtube...I grooveshark dem hoes! And pandora...haha. I like a select few of the "original" dubstep songs, I won't lie, but I'm lovin the mainstream hype dubstep songs. I'm a huge basshead, and love unique noises in my songs. The Vocals and drops that some of these songs bring are amazing.
Doesn't really matter if the artists(Skrillex mainly) didn't put any of their "soul" in it, they put their touch, and it got into my soul. Skrillex tho...He's an interesting cat, a lot of his songs are just too random, but when Bare noize or someone remixes them(I.e. Kill everybody) it makes it super bearable and enjoyable. In his defense, His remix for "In for the kill, " "Hey sexy lady," and "Cinema." are pretty epic. He didn't break dubstep out, he didnt revolutionize it, hes just doing a DAMN great job marketing it out to everyone.
Emalkay is a def. fav. (Fabrication...new or old that shit KNOCKS).
Anything Flux Pavilion and Zeds Dead remix...is Gold.
And Bassnectar, when he actually has bass in his songs, are pretty fantastic.
Dubba Johnnys got some awesome ones as well.

I'm not gonna waste another 2 weeks puttin up all the songs I love, instead I'll share my grooveshark playlist. For anyone who likes 70% of whats been in this thread, or needs to figure out they're style of dubstep...Its in my list.
So far 205 songs. Enjoy, and become a fan if you want. I update it pretty frequently. Grooveshark the dub!

So glad I found this thread, I basically found dubstep a couple of months ago through UKFDubstep on youtube, been listening ever since along with other styles

Thing is I know absolutely nothing about music, and only really listen to music as a sort of background noise, I know this sound ridiuclous, but its a distraction to stop me from getting distracted

I mean I have like 15 hours worth of songs (not including like 4 hours of continuous mixes), and probably 1000 hours worth of various podcasts

Dubstep and the other genre I like - chill (especially electronic) - fits that perfectly. Having my headset on full blast with some ridiculous drop going over and over in my head just makes the studying fly past

EDIT: One of my favourites since its so relaxed but has a tiny bit of base to keep me going

That's pretty much exactly how I feel about music. I've never really gained an appreciation for a specific type of music or anything because it's just a form of nice noise to me. Maybe I'm missing out, but I wouldn't know.

And that's why I listen to dubstep!
