Anywho, new EP by Rusko, "Everyday."
I like this a lot. Glad to see he can recover from his lackluster debut album. Cant wait to see him again, on none other than 4/20. Posting because it's a classic.

there's more to remixing electronic music than just cross-genre/tempo remixing. I'm surprised you find this surprising as most remixes are done by artists active in the same genre. Usually though, the cross-genre ones (e.g. a dubstep remix of a known pop song) gather more exposure from the fans of both genres
Generalizing as this applies to most, if not all electronic music genres.

Eh not really surprised, more just unimpressed.
He just took a burial song and added the same bass line he seems to use in every song.
Great thread! I discovered dubstep through this thread and after an hour or so lurking around I really started to like it. I am not usualy a fan of electronic music but I believe this has something different. As a drummer and classical percussionist groove is really important and I find this style interesting because it is kinda (sometime) rhythmically unpredictable, it throws the listener "off". However I still prefer music played by a band rather than mixed by a DJ. Here is a link to Jojo Mayer's band Nerve. He's a famous bop/fusion/drum n' bass drummer I just remembered, their work is mostly improvised. Hope you like it!
drums - Jojo Mayer bass - John Davis keyboards and trumpet - Takuya Nakamura real time sound engineer - Roli Mossiman
I'm really starting to like dubstep, many thanks to IdrA. It is such a weird and unpredictable style of music - really great to listen to when practicing.
Making a couple of stations on Pandora will definitely help find more good dubstep artists. TY for the thread, OP and contributers :D.
Wow. Burial strikes again, can't believe how consistently good this guy is. Thanks for posting it up.
If anyone's interested, I just finished work on a new dubstep track actually. It's a bit more relaxed than a lot of the stuff here, but there might be some that (hopefully) enjoy it: http://soundcloud.com/jtype/j-type-ive-been-waiting
