Discussing the show and past episodes is fine. Do not put things that have happened in the TV series in spoilers. However, don't spoil things from the books that may happen in future episodes. Put book spoilers in spoiler tags with a CLEAR WARNING that it is from the book.

And if I remember someone said that the characters in the comics use shields. Another debate: Roman Legions vs Zombies on this show. Who wins? If the show had survivors take on walkers while being armed with shields and melee weapons it would just show how it ridiculous it was that soldiers armed with modern weaponry lost. Sure you can only kill a walker with by destroying it's head, but a group of walkers shot by a 50 caliber machine gun would be destroyed so much they wouldn't have anything left to attack with. Walkers don't even run or jump, they just shuffle fast sometimes and push in a disorganized mass. Even if the walkers started inside the base there should be no way for walkers to defeat armored vehicles except to wait till they have no fuel or food and the drivers had to get out. Yet they showed bases with machine guns having been overrun in S1 and it's why the Governor's men had to kill the soldiers in a previous season because they were too well armed.

Actually there is answer to the base question etc. and was supposed to be answered in S2 as Frank Darabont wanted to do a flash back episode with the characters and how they met then the ending would have, guess what, the tank driver fighting off the horde and crawling inside the tank to die till Rick Grimes crawls inside at the end of S1 episode 1. Then AMC decided to get rid of him.

I'd suggest you read World War Z if you haven't. Some pretty good explanations of how that could happen in there. Basically, killing them isn't really the problem (although with explosives and bullet spray you tend to leave a lot of crawler), killing all of them before you run out of ammo is.

+ Show Spoiler + Okay, so, not only is the military completely incompetent, but they're malicious too! Seriously, this show has one of the most offensive portrayals of the American military I've ever seen. I grew up as a military brat. Incompetence and maliciousness exist, certainly, but that's true of everyone on earth. They're not particular to nor the defining characteristics of the US military. Here's a perfect example of this horseshit: in the last episode, while the base is in the process of being overrun (ALSO LET'S NOT DRIVE A TRUCK NEXT TO THE FENCE AND BARRICADE IT. ALSO BULLETS RICOCHET OFF OF CHAINLINK, RIGHT), three soldiers enter the parking garage, wearing nothing but, like, shirts and pants. Okay, so, obviously they need a vehicle to escape. They need it *right that second* because zombies. But instead of just taking the kids' fucking keys and driving away like sane people, they decide to hang around and possibly rape that chick. What the actual fuck? That's not the only reason I don't like the show. I could go on and on. It's a load of horseshit and it's terrible.

Sure they were attacked, but half the scenes were the same things over and over, just with different characters. Carol runs around killing people. Other people run around killing people. The bad guys run around killing people. Morgan runs around not killing people. Not like there was a real strategy or anything to stopping them. Was literally just run around killing them until they are all gone. No main characters died, and the only plot relevant thing apart from that was the photos alluding to this only being a raid, not a full scale attack. Could have easily put more into the episode. Then there was also the introduction being wasted on not Carl's girlfriend after the cliffhanger of the last episode. I also hated the scene where the mom was attacked by that woman who just happened to be the only bad guy not armed with a melee weapon, and who decided to be nice and calmly get the gun rather than savagely beating the mom's head against the counters like every other bad guy would have done.

Aaron broke down after finding his bag, and his photos because he feels responsible. He lost the bag last season, and was recovered by the Wolves guy. Aaron's boyfriend was in the infirmary along with Eugune, Tara, and Denise.

And if assaulting other people is basically all they do, why are they so bad at it and why do they not have any firearms? Certainly someone intelligent/manipulative leads them. So bad at it? Disorganized that's certain but i'm sure they reach their goal by catching/killing people and spreading terror. I wonder how big their group is, what's their motive, guess we'll need to be patient..can't wait!

It's better when villains are actually somewhat intelligent.
