Discussing the show and past episodes is fine. Do not put things that have happened in the TV series in spoilers. However, don't spoil things from the books that may happen in future episodes. Put book spoilers in spoiler tags with a CLEAR WARNING that it is from the book. |

Sure, you can only kill a zombie by shooting it in its head. That doesn't mean the entire body is invulnerable, and can continue working properly no matter how much damage it takes. Blow a zombie's legs off, or do something to incapacitate it, and you don't have to worry about killing it. In this show at least, the brain stem is apparently what keeps zombie's "alive," so even a broken spine would take one out of a fight. Fire should work wonders too, burning all the muscles and such. Plus, Zombies can't swim or fly, so I have a hard time imagining how they would take out the Navy, and the Air Force would be able to obliterate huge numbers of them in bombing runs.
I'm reading World War Z and the author really manages to make a "realistic" picture of how the zombies could overrun most of the world, and why a modern military might be unable to deal effectively with them simply because their weapons were not designed to kill large numbers of "infantry" and are innefficient against zombies.
But in The WD the zombies seem weaker and less menacing than those in WWZ, and in the book the US military is just incredibly incompetent in their handling of the situation.

I can't recommend World War Z enough to those who like zombie flicks. It entertains and makes you think about how much hubris the human race has as a whole.

I really enjoyed the finale. The opening episode was clearly the best of S1 as you felt a greater connection with the black husband and son than with 90% of the characters introduced afterwards, which is unfortunate to say the least. However, as previously stated by other people that watch a ridiculous amount of zombie-type movies and shows, this show is pretty damn good, and is certainly entertaining. The whole speculation on whether or not the world would be able to stop a zombie apocalypse is laughable, as there's no way to know what the hell would happen, or what it would really be like. I'm looking forward to what S2 will bring. Hopefully it will be aired asap!

Im sad i have to wait till october for S2, this series moves slow enough to develop characters and allows for better interaction between characters where as zombie movies move too fast for any good character development and side plots.

i think both zombies are about the same. in the first ep of walking dead, we see a zombie thats half dead with its legs gone, intestines hanging out, most of its muscles missing but its still able to move and bite at you. that fits well with WWZ's zombies which dont die unless the brains taken out. also walking dead zombies seem to be slightly faster, as ive seen multiple times when they can do a bit of a jog when coming after you. World War Z is simply describing what would probably happen in the real world. the US military is not incredibly incompetent, but it just wasnt prepared to handle this kind of situation. all the enemies theyve trained for all their lives are against humans who have emotions like fear.

I was slightly disaappointed with the finale. I guess its ok since there was no big cliff hanger since we have to wait till next october for the new season anyways. I just downloaded all the comics and they are an insanely good read. Only problem i see in the comics is that they are black and white... The characters are soo well fleshed out.
I'm glad that season two got picked up for THIRTEEN episodes this time as opposed to six.
RICK IS THE MAN!

just started watching today on episode 3. good so far
btw feel sorry for the horse in episode 1 D:

So far I really like it. i think the character i like the least is the main guy. He's such a dbag. I can't put my finger on why, but... it just doesn't seem like he has any personality of his own.

errr... might be rly bad tho.
basically darabont fired everyone. and is going to do the whole of S2 by himself.

anyone seen deadset? It's a british zombie tv series, violent and gory and is only 5 episodes. The zombies are like 28 days later.

I just read 1100 pages of the comic to finish it off and all I can say is the ending was very good and not good at the same time. I didn't like how they left it, but the more I think about the ending, the more I realize there is no other way they could have ended it that would have pleased the fans.
I'll tell you one thing though. The prison part really bored me to death. 500, maybe 600 pages of just them being in the prison. Obviously, more shit goes on, but it was just boring them being in the same setting and all. I was kind of starting to enjoy them going from place to place trying to survive and them we get a bunch of drama in the prison. If you guys really hated how there wasn't much action in the TV series, then get ready for a damn soap opera as soon as they find that prison in the TV show. If they ever do that is... The TV show is already vastly different than the comic. Take the CDC part for example. It never happens in the comic. The way they got the guns was also totally different. It was way more bad ass in the comic. If you want to know how it was then read: + Show Spoiler +There was no magic duffel bag in the comic. Rick and Glenn (Asian guy) just walked into Atlanta with Walker blood/goo on them. The walkers left them alone and what not. They got to the gun store, filled up a shopping cart and then almost got away. Rain then started just like in the show and washed away their scent. After that, they just ran like hell to get out of there. Lost some guns on the way, but they made it out safely.

Yeah i felt bad for that horse too, but better to get eaten by a large group and die fast rather than have like one find him in that farm and knaw on him for like forever just to kill it. Poor animals during apocalyptic times QQ

projectfreetv.com Google it, not the best quality, but they have got all the episodes ^__^

I just finished the series. Only 6 episodes? Really? I really enjoyed the episodes, but I feel like it should have been longer. I felt unsatisfied after the end of the sixth episode. Will ther ebe a second season?

seems to me like the producers werent happy with the direction the writers were taking things, so they just blew everything up so we can have a fresh start on season 2.
i just hope it follows more closely to the comics
