Which are their other lower bracket runs?

Heart goes to OG. Mind follows.
EG are resilient. But I believe OG has more strings, if they don't corner themselves into being less than they are, and allow EG to be more.
I expect to see one game where one goes, "What were you thinking, PPD?".

eg og LB final? It must be Frankfurt again! lets go N0tail

I'm hoping for a CTY show.
|
As much as I love EG I'm hoping China will finally win something.
EG 2-1 OG
EHome 3-2 EG
Good luck all!

Ehome looking so stupid good right now
Their wins are so unbelievably dominant.
|
Hoping and praying for OG to take it so we get a grand finals that's actually fun to watch.
|
i don't care who wins as long as ehome wins

I dunno, their series against OG could really have gone either way

I was hoping EG vs OG would be the grand finals match, oh well, I'm fine with either team beating EHOME

Okay, time for my "pre-draft draft analysis" post. (This is a lot of fun for me, if it isn't noticeable.)
The first thing to note is that the Day 1 match between EG & OG means very little. That was 4 days and quite a lot of Meta ago. ppd isn't going to allow Fly to draft Earth Spirit + Oracle together. And OG also will be unlikely to run 4 Protect 1 strategies, which is what they were doing on that first day. (And why VG walked all over them.) I'm also a little sad that they aren't meeting in the finals because I would love to see a Bo5 between them.
Oh, OG lost Game 3 against Ehome the instant they panicked when Broodmother came out. While LGD might have over-reacted and 2nd phase banned it against EG as a result, as well, putting Fly on Position 5 Gyrocopter just obliterated everything OG does. Meepo still works, it just doesn't work without the right setup. (So expect final ban of the hero when it makes sense to by ppd.)
The contested Picks will be: Earth Spirit, Vengeful Spirit, Faceless Void & Invoker.
What to expect from EG:
When ppd has first pick, he won't ban Earth Spirit. I would expect Wisp & Invoker bans, then a first pick Vengeful Spirit if Earth Spirit is banned. I really hope he doesn't skip Earth Spirit if it's available. It almost went badly when he did against LGD in game 1. While Crit has gotten better on Earth Spirit as the tournament has gone on, he's not great on it as an active roamer in the early game. But his high ground defense is massively on-point.
If ppd has second pick, I would expect Earth Spirit & Wisp bans. That seems pretty straight forward.
Second phase bans are obviously dependent on what ppd wants to eliminate from Fly's arsenal. If ppd gets Vengeful Spirit, I'd be really curious if he doesn't ban Dazzle + Oracle. So much of what OG wants to do (with the exception of their push-strat line ups) is based off Defensive Supports + Global Ganking. OG has been favoring solid laning with that Global Ganking, which works well to pick-apart the other team's item progression and then take objectives. It also allows Miracle to carry the team hard if they get beaten in lanes. (Call it OG's "theme" they've developed in this tournament.)
Morphling is working out to be the 2nd best safe lane Carry at MDL. With so much Global Ganking (much of it due to Invoker and Zeus being popular), the stupidly hard to kill blob of water is working really well. Expect Morphling to be a feature of the 2nd phase for pick/ban.
What to expect from OG:
If Fly has first pick, he's going to ban Faceless Void and Lone Druid. Fly has pretty much banned Lone Druid almost every game this tournament. Faceless Void should be a given ban against EG, seeing how damn good Universe is on it. (And how potent FV is right now.) For first pick, I would expect Invoker, if available. Earth Spirit if ppd let's it through. Other than that, there really isn't any information to go on. He first picked Dazzle in their first series on the LAN. Wisp is highly likely to never be available.
If Fly has second pick, it's going to be Faceless Void + Earth Spirit. Picks will probably be Invoker + a support he favors. There's a pretty consistent theme to OG's drafts.
In the 2nd phase, I would expect bans targeted at whatever Fly doesn't want to deal with. Considering ppd rarely likes to pick heroes for the same players in the first phase two games in a row, it's really going to be down to what he wants to try to remove from the players left to ban. For picks, I wouldn't be surprised to see some Spirit Breaker picks for Moon in the second phase. EG has, historically, had trouble with the hero, and it will synergize really well if they can get Invoker.
There's also a good chance we see a Broodmother ban in either the 2nd or 3rd phase. Fly & ppd both know how badly caught off guard that was & how badly Fly responded. (It was a good pick for Ehome regardless, given the way the draft had played out, so cheesy it was not.) If he doesn't ban it, don't be surprised if he picks it up one game, as it would work with what OG is doing with most of their strategies. Though he won't ban if it a clear Universe hero comes out in the first phase, which could very easily happen.
Something to watch out for, in both series today:
Mid-game Vision. Not just the warding, but also heroes that grant vision. With everyone grouping up for 5-man smokes and team-fighting past 10 minutes, being able to scout out the movement is really key. This is why ppd will first phase ban Night Stalker against the Chinese teams. They know just how potent Night Stalker w/ Aghs is for making the opponent completely blind on the map. OG gets around a lot of this problem with good warding & defensive supports/play. It's hard to get picked off when you're hard to find.
Roshan Pit Fights: since Starladder, trying to sneak a Rosh works about 10% of the time. Most of the time you get wiped when you try, leading to a loss. Obviously, this is how EG tend to lose games, but it's been a running theme of 2 LANs in a row. Earth Spirit & a lot of Global Presence Heroes has a lot to do with that. It's also the reason for the TA picks as we've gotten later into the tournament.
