A few USA chants are fine but please don't do it too much. Stop the stupid USA arguments, thanks. On another note, CDEC flairs are now live. Sorry about the delay on that.

Perhaps it's a desire to be taken seriously but there always seems to be a belief that the best players or teams must be afforded the best possible chance of making the finals. its less about the best team, but about the teams that narrowly fall short. esport is so volatile in which teams are at the top at any given moment that seeding is a complete nightmare. so if one team drops out in the first round against the tournament winner they finish something like 8th and get very little to nothing of the prize money, even though they might be able to beat every other team in the tournament and are the second strongest team overall. double elimination makes sure that at least the top 2 teams finish according to their strength and makes it much more likely that the final outcome of the tournament reflects the strengths of the teams.

As for first-TI-appearance 5 players, there were none in finals before except TI1. I worded that poorly i guess. I wanted answers from e-sports history in games like bw and sc2.

It's just a bit silly to not have one if you're playing dual elim I disagree if I see EG win it doesn't feel like a real victory thus it cheapens the victory thus is an anti hype moment. If EG were to overcome 2 series or a game lead then that would be amazing and so much better to watch and enjoy. I really don't get why people think otherwise its silly

Good Dota is just good Dota and fans will cheer for that no matter what. That's a bit of a false equivalence imho, it would be so much better if people would cheer for the actual NA team's name or something.I don't know what it's like for Americans but for me I just face palm every time that USA meme happens, it's so boorish. (I'm going for EG in the final by the way).

If DotA had a proper team ranking system and a prize pool spread across every tournament in the year, the single elim would be fine. It's a fucking horrible idea when seeding is entirely dependent on luck and tournaments can eclipse the total sum of everything else in a year. Take this tournament for example. Top 6 teams, 5 were in Group B. It's not Valve's fault Group A teams underperformed so much. They divided the teams perfectly based on different websites team ratings.

It's so annoying this way. it's pretty dumb. there's a LOT of acronyms for organizations that get shorthanded into a word. like USADA is commonly mentioned in sports and every just says "you-sada". practicality is king

All four Chinese teams that aren't bad are falling to Americans so yes, they do. Young > Old has been the case this tournament, yes. And I said China has no new players in 2013.

I've just learned to sit back and enjoy the salt. Complaining against people complaining about USA USA USA is essentially the same as complaining about minorities complaining about the white advantage. You're complaining about other people being right. Americans, and other western teams to a smaller extent, get a huge home field advantage and it's really telling if you are at the arena. It is good that the majors will be held in other countries and will hopefully be run by local organizations. Anyways I will have a good laugh if CDEC wins despite the deck being stacked against them.
