A few USA chants are fine but please don't do it too much.

Stop the stupid USA arguments, thanks.

On another note, CDEC flairs are now live. Sorry about the delay on that.

They just said an hour break on stream as well.

It's for the best. EG needs time to unfocus and calm down.

Thats hardly fair as it takes away the "advantage" the WB team has.

If the WB team doesn't get a free game or a second life they should at least force the LB team to play without resting

WEC actually had double elimination grand finals, with two sets of BO3 played and the winner bracket team having to only win one (or was it two sets of BO5? Doesn't matter either way).

Double elimination tournaments are inherently shitty though. I never understood gaming's fetish for them.

No, it is fine as it is now. A final should be a final without advantage. CDEC already has the advantage of not having to play another exhaustive BO3 today.

These Dota nerds play like 12 hours a day anyway they'd be fine. Just as much argument that they aren't properly warmed up and in the zone like EG will be now.

Being able to watch and analyze your potential opponents is a pretty big advantage though.

There's really not much you learn from a bo3 that you didn't already know at this stage.

Russian casters made some jokes about being in the middle of Shanghai because crowd chanted LGD from time to time aswell. Good Dota is just good Dota and fans will cheer for that no matter what.

EG is disadvantaged by having 2 play 2 series in a day and having to prepare against 2 opponents.

Early beta, remember You don't count tournament out just because it's not played on a released product.

You do count the tournament out. The Chinese teams were playing a totally different game (DotA 1), and never even practiced DotA 2. In fact, pretty much all the Chinese teams showed up with zero practice because they thought the million dollar tournament was a scam.

Gamers seem to have a really hard time dealing with variance and luck. Perhaps it's a desire to be taken seriously but there always seems to be a belief that the best players or teams must be afforded the best possible chance of making the finals.

they play one game less, its a pretty big advantage.

That's not how double elimination tourneys work. Extra rest isn't enough of an advantage. Eg would be eliminated now if it was single elimination.

It's still the best way to have a good finals. You can complain that CDEC didn't lose a series in the main event, but they got 2-0 by EG in the groups. All in all both teams have lost one series this tournament.

It's the best way to get a tense finals but the most unfair way. If everyone doesn’t get a second life then don't run a double elimination tourney in the first place.

I don't think PPD has ever lost finals to any team other than Secret.

CDEC has never won a finals.

This is a win for America, and another loss for China in the year of loss.

PPD lost finals to Empire, to VG, to iG. So get your facts straight, West fanfriend.

They did lose to Empire, but that's another Western team. I don't think PPD has lost this year to a Chinese team in the finals.

they've only played one tournament this year where they faced a chinese team in the finals

What's important is that CDEC has been in the finals a lot in China, but never won.

EG is not a "Chinese team".

We don't know whether CDEC finals choking abilities extend to any finals they are in tho. That's why i am almost sad because EG will win it and Azarkon won't shut up despite this tournament being complete failure for West.

Him proclaiming Western superiority would almost be funnier though.

It's funny because it wouldn't even be wrong.

China hasn't won a tournament in months, despite there being lots of tournaments in the last few months.

Them not winning again... I don't know about you, but it doesn't make me think China > West, indeed not even China = West.

Sure, they have a lot of top finish. But a win is a win. You don't get to be the best with second, else C9 is the best team in the world.

To which end, I think that were China to lose again, I'm all for West > China.

Who cares about who wins tournaments. Check West vs China record this tournament (main stage in particular). We compare scenes, not teams, ya forgot?
