Your friend is right aghs is core on doom right now. You just used to go mek into dagger into shivas back in the old days.

But the aghs isn't really a bad thing since the aghs on doom is super good you can most likely kill anybody you see and it allows you to rush refersher after aghs cause it provides the mana and stats needed.

I also miss Bat rider too. He has been nerfed for forever and still exists in the meta but not any longer. Dont know what happen.

I suppose this isn't exactly on-topic, but a Mek is useable after 2300 gold, allowing you to go do pro-active stuff or save teammates (in pubs teehee) as you need, but an Agh's needs the full item to allow you to do stuff, right? So does that in turn make him a weaker choice, since Mek -> Blink is roughly the same price, but you get to use the Mek for the minutes before you also get a blink, or get to choose between the two if absolutely necessary?

I think Icefrog just balanced stuff on purpose so people don't pick them any more and a fresh meta comes in, I mean sometimes he clearly does nerf things in a way that they're never going to get picked.

It's not really a weaker choice . It was a thing back on TI4 since everybody was deathballing somebody has to get mek and doom could cause even when he had shit lane he'd have farm. Back then if doom went for midas or aghs first i think his team would be dead already and the enemy team would have too much of an advantage.

Nowadays doom goes for an early midas most of the time.

I think u can still pick bat u just have to safelane farm him and rely on an SF type hero mid to be ur carry
but 1 core blows so even that is pretty sketchy.

he's definitely not good anymore.

maybe a jungling bat would work ? like what universe did back on DAC (but that was 6.83) not sure if it works anymore

u can't jungle him anymore so he blows because he literally can't get farm anywhere on the map unless the enemy has a super greedy shitty safelane

and the hero does jack shit without a blink

thought the old doom build was just tranquils into blink and then something like shivas or refresher
at least that's how the east played him I never remembered seeing a mek on that hero

There used to be some dual lanes with Bat that you could do and do really well on the offlane. But I guess the firefly nerf also makes getting kills a bit harder. And if you can't rely on the jungle as a backup plan at least then committing to an early Bat pick seems like a clear no. But I don't know if the hero could be pickable as a late pick if you know the lane is going to work. The concept of the hero is still the same when the game goes a bit later.

Yeah, C9 is squarely T1.5. Better than all T2 teams, and poor results vs all T1 teams (Secret, EG, maybe IG). CIS teams don't have a chance vs them..
