Please stop the caster bashing. You can disagree with them and post about it but posts that only serve to bash casters senselessly will be actioned.

Chinese teams are ok. I liked newbee(just because they beat DK badly on one time period i have a thing on teams that beat fan favorites). At least for me. Part of the reason is that it's sort of anticlimactic to have chinese vs chinese cause it's a global competition so i it would be nice to have a hyped east vs west. Part of the reason is that not really wanting dota 2 to become like starcraft scene.

Maybe for others it's more like Newbee vs VG is really anticlimactic since they are the least likable chinese team i think. IG and DK has so many fans while newbee has opterown and idk who are the VG fnatics but i know people love ROTK.

So the top 8 is 5 Chinese teams and 3 Western teams, various teams took multiple games off various chinese teams (Newbee was 7-8, LGD was 7-8.

TI3 was Western vs Western?Did you dislike that final?

Although it was west vs west. It wasn't really anticlimactic. And even if it was west vs west. It was Ukraine + Estonia + Germany vs Sweden. So it had the international feeling that it gave. unlike this TI4 which is chinese vs chinese . I don' really mind if chinese win or makes it to grand finals every year. As long as it's chinese vs something else so that it feels like a global competition. Not another chinese tournament. That's really my only complain.

Not to mention it was the match most hated team in the world vs the most like team in the world. And the most hated team in the world was a unstoppable juggernaut while na'vi was the only only that looked to beat alliance that time. So it was hyped as fuck.

Seriously that was a really sick story line to follow.

Maybe you should go read a book if you want a sick storyline to follow? People like you in this thread are the most impossible to understand. This is a tournament. The purpose is to determine who is the best team in the world. Every team enters with the purpose of placing as high as possible. They don't care a fig about entertaining you or producing "good storylines". All these teams whose playstyles people arbitrarily like, they don't play that way because they care about you. They play that way because it wins them the most games and they'd change their playstyle in an instant if they found a superior one.

That's why I find all these people bitching about boring games to be a little ridiculous too. To me the most beautiful playstyle is the one that wins you the most games, whether it's 4 protect 1, 5 man, early push, split push, facerush, whatever. Wouldn't you rather support a team that always asks itself "how can I win?", rather than a team that insults your intelligence by asking "how can I entertain the crowd?"

Are you serious ? it's like you are saying you can watch dota 2 without commentary.

Please esports is not fun to watch solely because of beautiful gameplay. It's a package deal Gameplay + storyline. If you just wanted gameplay you can go watch the game and mute the casters since you like watching it like godly AI's playing against each other.

watching dota 2 without commentary is actually fine imo. you should try it before you knock it. also I've been to pubstomps at bars where the commentary audio was too low to comprehend and that too was fine.

really ? idk i enjoyed watching dota with commentary .. honestly the commentary hypes up the game.. while watching bw/sc2 i am fine with no commentary in the case of dota 2 it's different.

When did I say anything even remotely related to watching dota without commentary? Holy strawman batman. Good commentary makes the games more exciting and explains details and intricacies that the average viewer wouldn't notice otherwise. I have nothing against commentary and neither does anybody. My point was that you seem to be disappointed that better teams won which makes me wonder why on earth you watching a tournament in the first place.

This game needs a huge patch, like 6.78 was. Some change to the game will nerf pushing strats because A: they are boring and B: Because they are way too good.

They praised Sylars farm in game 1 but really it was mainly tower gold, so no, it wasn't that impressive.

I was just rewatching the G3 replay of C9 vs. VG, and I noticed that Lumi said "EternalEnvy told me after they saw Vici eliminate Titan in Game 3, 'that was disgusting,' and if they got the chance, they'd do the same to them."

Well, Lumi and Envy (if he seriously managed to mix up Vici and Newbee, I doubt Envy would do such a thing but just in case he did), pity it was Newbee that did the level 1 Rosh. And how ironic that C9 actually attempted it against VG, who was the team that ruined Alliance's Level 1 Rosh.

the hype and the shouting is one thing (although "hype" moments should be pretty self-evident). On the other hand, I think a lot of analysis (even from pros or ex-pros) is overrated and undercooked (people say chinese commentary is better but I don't understand mandarin). I can sympathize with analysts b/c they are under time constraints to say things, but watching without commentary actually forces you to develop your analytical skills without being colored by the commentators. A lot of western commentators also do not watch that much chinese dota and thus are pretty useless in this international.

i actually like comparing my own analysis to that of the casters, i usually get pretty mad when they say stuff i disagree with (one team is really ahead, one team can come back, etc). when the panel was assuming universe timbersaw, i was like "no u idiots its obviously rtz timbersaw so universe can carry on void and mason can hit his arrows on potm" but i was wrong, eg were the secret idiots

Hao best carry w/o the inch of a doubt, his plays are way flashier and smarter than Sylar's (whose Morphling is his only impressive feat).
I'm unhappy we get an all-chinese finals but it's very hard to say these particular teams don't deserve it -unlikealliancelastyearahem-, best of luck to both.

Dark Seer doesn't have an advantage until 5 from which he can dive for free with lvl 3 shell and vac + surge. He can cut the wave but that's not doing much since NP can tank creeps with Treants. It's not as much of a free win for the first few levels as people make it out to be. Sylar getting a fb is huge, espec when he baited Universe into going in on him.

By the same virtue, Hao also made some of the most bone-headed decisions out of any carry at the event.

What?

Sylar's farm in game 1 was incredibly impressive, no matter how you spin it. Sure he had tons of tower gold, but that was because he was driving the game by pushing towers and showing up to fights, all while maintaining a high CS count. That's incredibly difficult to do.

It's really not that difficult providing your team has proper map control
