If you just wanted gameplay you can go watch the game and mute the casters since you like watching it like godly AI's playing against each other. watching dota 2 without commentary is actually fine imo. you should try it before you knock it. also I've been to pubstomps at bars where the commentary audio was too low to comprehend and that too was fine. really ? idk i enjoyed watching dota with commentary .. honestly the commentary hypes up the game.. while watching bw/sc2 i am fine with no commentary in the case of dota 2 it's different.

When did I say anything even remotely related to watching dota without commentary? Holy strawman batman. Good commentary makes the games more exciting and explains details and intricacies that the average viewer wouldn't notice otherwise. I have nothing against commentary and neither does anybody. My point was that you seem to be disappointed that better teams won which makes me wonder why on earth you watching a tournament in the first place.

This game needs a huge patch, like 6.78 was. Some change to the game will nerf pushing strats because A: they are boring and B: Because they are way too good.
They praised Sylars farm in game 1 but really it was mainly tower gold, so no, it wasn't that impressive.

I was just rewatching the G3 replay of C9 vs. VG, and I noticed that Lumi said "EternalEnvy told me after they saw Vici eliminate Titan in Game 3, 'that was disgusting,' and if they got the chance, they'd do the same to them."
Well, Lumi and Envy (if he seriously managed to mix up Vici and Newbee, I doubt Envy would do such a thing but just in case he did), pity it was Newbee that did the level 1 Rosh. And how ironic that C9 actually attempted it against VG, who was the team that ruined Alliance's Level 1 Rosh.

the hype and the shouting is one thing (although "hype" moments should be pretty self-evident). On the other hand, I think a lot of analysis (even from pros or ex-pros) is overrated and undercooked (people say chinese commentary is better but I don't understand mandarin). I can sympathize with analysts b/c they are under time constraints to say things, but watching without commentary actually forces you to develop your analytical skills without being colored by the commentators. A lot of western commentators also do not watch that much chinese dota and thus are pretty useless in this international.

I think laning against a DS as Furion isn't that easy, I think Sylar did a pretty good job
Universe gave him FB tho

Hao best carry w/o the inch of a doubt, his plays are way flashier and smarter than Sylar's (whose Morphling is his only impressive feat). I'm unhappy we get an all-chinese finals but it's very hard to say these particular teams don't deserve it -unlikealliancelastyearahem-, best of luck to both.

Dark Seer doesn't have an advantage until 5 from which he can dive for free with lvl 3 shell and vac + surge. He can cut the wave but that's not doing much since NP can tank creeps with Treants. It's not as much of a free win for the first few levels as people make it out to be. Sylar getting a fb is huge, espec when he baited Universe into going in on him.

By the same virtue, Hao also made some of the most bone-headed decisions out of any carry at the event.

What?
Sylar's farm in game 1 was incredibly impressive, no matter how you spin it. Sure he had tons of tower gold, but that was because he was driving the game by pushing towers and showing up to fights, all while maintaining a high CS count. That's incredibly difficult to do.

It's really not that difficult providing your team has proper map control

I just missed it...
What was that ESPN thing all about? A segment dedicated to Dota? Live interview?
All I see now are some crossfit games... Wow, crossfit is really big in the US...
