If Orange wins, this could be a good year for SEA.

Xian winning SSF4 at EVO
Iceiceice winning Solo
Orange winning TI3?

Plus Orange has the underdog storyline.

How are you going to make that happen ? Alliance are already in the finals. It's [A] vs Na'Vi or [A] vs Orange.

well, he would still have to account for his repeated statement that "sea dota is the weakest," and "na'vi is the only one who can stand against alliance."

you can also laugh in his face if orange beats up na'vi and takes games off (or wins!) against alliance.

this is all, of course, contingent on how well orange does tomorrow. :3c

rofl, it would have been amazing seeing him against the whole thread again

I don't think China has ever suffered a big loss like this. I don't think shuffling will amount to anything. The scene itself needs to change and that may have to be through more tournaments, traveling overseas, and creating better circuits for new players to enter the competitive scene. They should also go deeper in exploring the game because TI3 really showed how their playstyle does not work anymore.

The fact that this loss was a collective loss rather than a individual loss says a lot...

Who knows, maybe CeSPA will be created? Since they're not performing up to their standard in both LoL and DotA.

ACE is CeSPA, if you mean the organization that the professional chinese dota teams use for rules, sanctions and tournament organization. They are very arguably one of the reasons why there was an extreme lull in competition this year.

I know you can somehow relate ACE to being their own version of CeSPA regarding ruling, sanctions and tournaments... But they are still far away from KeSPA's strict training regimen, players contract, ...

kespa does not require strict training regimen... that is to be enforced by the organizations themselves, which the chinese teams are already pretty good at, and ACE player contracts are enforced because of past controversies of player poaching.

it is true kespa does have better infrastructure for starcraft than dota teams, but dota is a very volatile 5 man team game and inherently harder to coach, train, and schedule for than starcraft, and chinese does not have the established esports scene anyway, and why must they? if anything, ACE should consider inviting more western teams outside of china, sending chinese teams abroad, and most importantly and not do fail scheduling that causes chinese players to be out of competition for extended periods of time

Well the travelling topic always presented its problems for both sides, chinese teams with enough resources and no problems of visa not going for more international tournaments because of prize pool and excessive costs of travelling, the same with western teams going for chinese tournaments.

Chinese tournaments has always invited SEA whenever possible and the recent G1 League invited western teams, plus ACE seems to comply to the players request of more tournaments and maybe lift the restriction of bigger teams only being able to enter certain tournaments with a minimum of X prizepool.

Wasn't also Redbull ECL government supported/approved?
Also thing to keep in mind that the game was just released over there, as it grows in popularity and with the initial steps taken, let's hope the chinese scene stays healthy.

Not to rain on your parade but playing at sea would be a bitch, especially if there are a lot of waves - surely playing on land, in a city pref, would be better?

Well, it is the team that everyone expected to do well, and they just stomped through the tournament, that's a pretty lame story.

I don't think many people genuinely dislike Alliance, it's just that favoured teams winning without ever really being in trouble can feel a bit boring, especially for the biggest tournament of the year.

I'm not a fan of alliance, neither of their style. But their execution, their coordination are absolutely beautiful.

I'm happy the Chinese teams are out, they chickened out too much this tournament which lead to a lot of boring games. I don't worry for them I think they can reclaim their throne in a fashion way after one year of hardwork.

Now I only want to see good games,, the remaining 3 teams are amazing and make a logical top3 from what we've seen.

I think it would be a bit sad if Alliance didn't win, they have have been by far the best team during the first half of this year. Back to back Dreamhacks, back to back starladders, G-1 League etc. If they would fall on the finish line after all this hard work and all this success it would be crushing.

I'm rooting for Orange to get to the finals, they have been a good team for so long but without the big success stories. NaVi have made plenty of money and plenty of fans already, I wouldn't be sad to see Orange get some of that as well.
