No, chrono blocks absolutely everything. It's not that simple, There are certain skills that work on both types on immunity, some only on one. Black hole is the most important one to remember.

ughhhhhhhh

someone once told me that Dota was a game of exceptions rather then rules.
I didnt realize how right he was :p

so what about stuns like banes and pudges ults? im gonna try and find this in dotawiki's mechanics section.

Dota2wiki doesnt separate the different types of magical immunity
Does anyone know a page somewhere were I can read about this topic in detail?

Still very confused with how spirit bear's entagle proc interacts with basher, mjollnir and stuff
Also does entagle prevent qulling blade or somethign like that?

Anyone care to clarify?

I'm trying to find a game that I watched on Tobi's channel but so far I'm unsuccessful. I can't remember the teams but I remember that at one point there was a fight in the Radiant jungle where the Dire was completely wiped out and from the Radiant only Invoker alive (with a probably double or triple kill to his name) If anyone can remember the game and tell me I'd be really really happy because it was a fun game.

How do i watch replays i dl? are they stored in a folder i can get to in the game client, or do i need to find them outside the client. if its the later, whats the name of the folder.

folder should be, for most people

C:/Program Files (x86)/Steam/steamapps/common/dota 2 beta/dota/replays

Basher and Entangle have no interaction. Their proc chances are calculated separately, and they don't prevent each other from proccing in any way because bashes are not orb effects.

Entangle and Mjollnir have their proc chances calculated separately, but they can't proc on the same attack. One will take priority over the other (I think it's Entangle, but not sure in DotA 2). This is because two orb effects cannot both be procced on the same attack.

Quelling Blade and Entangle do not have any interaction. They used to have issues together in DotA 1, but those issues were fixed moving to the new engine.

Why is it that pro Invokers prioritize other items above Aghanim's Scepter? Doesn't it allow invoker amazing arsenal of spells to pretty much control any team fight? Also, what are pros/cons of a quas/wex vs. a wex/exort or an all around 4-5 pt all exort/quas/wex builds?

Q/W Invoker is highly mobile and can hit max movespeed with drums/phase already, forcestaff gives him just insane mobility. Afterwards some midgame item like Sheepstick, Orchid, maybe Euls makes more sense before Aghanims since you don't have the mana to support spamming spells nonstop yet.

On Q/E you won't even get close to the mobility of Q/W so you might as well get Treads (medallion -> rosh), forcestaff for mobility and then either Sheep / Pipe / Shivas / Aghs as teamfight items OR mkb / deso for more damage output.

W/E is rarely seen in pro games and pretty trolly since it's basically all damage/mobility and no cc whatsoever. Phaseboots -> MoM -> Daedalus are solid items here.


... Basically Q/W is high mobility and CC, Q/E is high damage and okay CC and W/E is huge damage and no cc. With all round point builds you end up with being mediocre at everything and not doing anything big.


For main spells Q/W is mostly Tornado/EMP/Coldsnap, Q/E is mostly Forgespirits, Coldsnap, Sunstrike and W/E is Sunstrike/Meteor/Alacrity

Don't go W/E.

Don't forget that most people that go QE rush 4/4 on each element so they can get double forge spirits by lvl 10. You can also use icewall once teamfights start happening.

Pro invokers don't rush aghs because they don't have mana to cast more than 3 spells.

u do when u get aghs
it's just that invoker isn't high enough level to make use of all the spells if he rushes aghs, usually only 4-5 spells are actually useful in midgame teamfights

If you're Quas/Wex, being able to cast Chaos Meteor, Sun Strike, or Forge Spirit's is going to do very little for your in-fight strength, and Ice Wall and Alacrity will only have some situational usage. A Force Staff or Sheepstick are going to be far more influential than being able to use the spells reliant on your least-leveled orb.

Aghanim's is useful once you get to start leveling that last orb, but by the time that happens, you should already have had the chance to complete 1-2 other big items.

I see. I like opening exort because of sunstrike, which allows you to kill heroes on low life running away from your team members (And they cannot kill due to tower etc.) In that case, would it be ok to grab exort at level 3 but as a build order still go for quas/wex?

i've always wondered, what happens if you run out of reserve time in captain's mode? are you forced into a random pick/ban once your normal time is up?

I think if its a pick then you random and if its a ban then you just skip a ban.
I know the latter is true because zenith did it in a game against orange deliberately, not certain about the former.
