When was the poster made? December 2010, 8 months earlier. It is concept art, not in game art.

Negative reaction about lina basically. People don't like bald girl, go figure..
I liked Dota before it was Mainstream.

I want to play Garena because I think it's the most casual platform out there for europeans, the thing is, I never find any game in the list, sometimes I find one but I'd like to see more... is it because of the WC3 version? I've it in its last version. What is the most used in Garena EU rooms?

The most recent one, usually. Europe updates reasonably fast, asia less so.

well you want the enemy to get a carrier when you are executing some push strat. Just pick a tons of pusher like rashta, pugna, furion and try to win around 25 min. doom is so useless until he got rad. You can even deny doom ultimate kill if you are good enough.

good drafters know when to spot push strats and try to deal with them. after that its up to how teams play. you cant pick those heroes and expect to win in 25 minutes with the dota 1 hero pool against a good drafter unless the teams skill levels are far apart, or there are huge blunders made in game

well the problem will come down to the first few bans, if you try to ban out used carriers, obv spec or AM or weaver gona fall into the first 3 pick slots. Mean while heroes such as Furion or ES could work out for both 1-4 or push. This happens in dota2 due to small heroes pool and the meta game. Im pretty sure this is how MYM made it to #1 instead of #3 in their group stage at gamescon. Their last game they got out played by scythe(?) but they decided to use a cheesy push strat to get a time tie breaker in group C(?).

You usually see few games since it is LAN based. Meaning max users aren't that high. On a b-net platform you can have much higher users in the same "room". If you only have 250 users in a room there isn't a reason for more than 3 or so games to be open at one time. Some users are afk, others in game.

If you scroll down a bit, there are around 10 video guides. It's not really a beginners guide, but if you're familiar with the genre (ei played hon/lol) it should be useful to you.

Justice, that was exactly why I started streaming - giving newbies advice and helping them in the runup to dota 2. I've been a bad person and not commentated on my play enough recently, but whenever I'm streaming I'll be both on the teamliquid teamspeak, and have the chat window on my stream up, so come ask questions, it's quite hard to know exactly what I should and shouldn't say - so you asking questions would help me as well

unless you are playing tinker, normally you only need 3 hotkeys for your items slots. I use 1 2 3 on top of QWE since i can use F1 for my main heroes and 456 for chen/enchan. Real starcraft player hotkey every shop inside fountain and macro before death like a boss

Sorry if this is already have been asked but..
I play LoL I watch a lot of high level players/tournaments.
In the laning phase of LoL theres.. 1 top, 1 mid, 2 bot and 1 jungler.
Now my question is is Dota/Dota2 like this or what? Cause I've seen some games where there are a couple games where their would be 3 people in a lane, or sometimes 2 mid or something bizzare like that, that I am not used to/aware of

The "standard" so to say is 2 top, 1 middle, 2 bot.

This is what will usually happen in public games.
From time to time there will be a hero that is better off jungling, and in case you have the hero's for it you will usually have 1 middle, 1 jungle, 1 person in the bot/top, and then a 2 people in bot/top.

And then from time to time there will be a tri-lane in bot top, leaving 1 mid, 1 bot/top, but this is something that usually only happens at higher levels, because this set up is used for certain hero combinations. just tri-laning because you just feel like tri-laning isn't really done.

Those are the usual ones.

2 hero's mid is rare I would say, and again more of like a metagame, hero setup thing where a team decides it is a better idea to shut down the opposing mid then have a solo mid.

Does dota 2 still has the same damage averages like the normal dota? like 65-71 damage instead of a fixed damage number? I cant see that on the stat quickscreen of every hero

It's the average of a range, it's cleaner on the UI but the mechanics remain the same

In Dota 2 it is a fixed number now. Warcraft 3 engine mechanics didn't allow that in Dota 1.

warcraft 3 engine mechanics very definitely allowed a flat damage number. Stop spreading nonsense. You were given a base damage, then a damage range (specified in the world editor as number of attack dice, and number of sides on said dice).

I think somewhere else it was said that it's not a flat number, it's just cleaner on the UI to see the average. Personally I don't know which way round it is. I'd be surprised if that, of all things, was changed.

v1lat, in his Q&A, said it is a fixed number (not an average). And it seems a right choice.
What is the point of an average number? It does not make UI cleaner. The number may say 50, but the actual damage could range 0-100. It is pointless.
