Play chaos knight, venom, bloodseeker or even clinks. Late game is all about initiation and killing key targets. Make sure your team understands that, and if you don't think something is the best play, make sure you point it out before doing it.

They also often hit one target at the outskirts of the fight, then take a few steps back and reevaluate how the fight is going and then decide whether to look for another isolated target or pull back. 3-5k carry players often just run into the midst of the enemy ball, kill 1-2 heroes and die.

That is true, recently I've been dropping mmr like crazy (3.6 -> 3k), and I notice it even more : people don't know how to back. They often don't back at all.
Say we push mid, there's some defence going on, people will chase heroes / try to finish the T3, and die. There's no backing.
In fact, the rare people who do back will often get X-pinged (solo queue) by their peers : you didn't do your job, why didn't you help? You still have 200 mana! Surely we could have killed that guy, or finish that T3 if you stayed and died like all of us.
On the other hand, I will admit being a bit annoyed at people who hardly commit and back so fast in little skirmishes, often costing the initiator his life, for lack of damage/CC.
The right amount of commitment is something you need a lot of infos/feeling for the game to evaluate, I believe. How much do you trust yourself, your teammates, value your opponents, what hero are you playing (an Ursa will naturally want to jump in and out, while an Huskar may want to push his limits a bit more...).

"normal" is the top rating. System goes from A-F, but only shows normal for "good" grades.

So, lots of big changes in the new update. Perhaps folks can revive the hero threads with some crackerjack analysis? Please start with how everything affects Tusk and Disruptor, as I'm a filthy casual who only plays two heroes.

nope, but it does proc things like maelstrom and most relevantly javelin (cheapest damage amp for it, stacks fully with itself)

Whats up with those net worth indicators at the top of screen? It just showed VP 8k ahead of Newbee, while on the net worth tab it was 51k - 37k with VP leading. Mind you im not talking about the net worth graph, which I figure might just need some time, but the actual net worth numbers below the graph.
