It's getting pretty annoying.
"We lost 4 Naga games in a row.... Let's do it again!"

I mean come on... It's no fun watching them lose with the same crap over and over again.
Kuroky... mate... It's not working, stop this shit already.

thats a huge weakness of thunder and liquid.
Misery and kuro the old guards seem to love their 4th and thats just a bad decision.
Gh on a crystal maiden - I dont get it.

I was 100% sure they will lose in late game against spectre ember. Lina is not a lategame oriented mid and naga + spectre will carry the game in that stage.
It was not clever to draft this way. I really think thats their major problem right now.

In the LD meta the draft was clearly defined, kuro used the standard picks like cent, slardar, cm, ld and they won a tourney cause their in game calls are good and their mechanics are godlike.
This meta is wide open and they really lack ideas.

Their coach really needs to point that problem to kuro. Thats what his homework should be. Slardar is still strong, they can play this meta again.

Maybe they just felt bad for Bulba and thus picked Naga, knowing they would lose.

sorry if i get it wrong, but i don't remember distinctly a time when kuro 4 actually carried for the team in deciding games. jerax and boboka are godlike on 4th pos, but i don't ever see kuro reaching that level of play consistently. Its like kuro just wants to be unpredictable but end up just making the team really uncomfortable with the picks and they just can't even perform properly cause farm priorities just get messed up and everyone is playing a hero they are not used to

Unpredictability is very good when it is giving you draft advantage, AND when your team is comfy with the positions. For example our last win with Naga was with GH on it. BUT that was very good naga game, and they still struggled.
The team looks much more powerful with a comfortable heroes. Even when you know that Miracle is going to play invoker you are still scared of it. Or matu Morph, or GH Rubick... you get he point.
As Anamorph said - they got the in game calls and the mechanics like no other team - they just need the draft.

Kuro gladly allowed Gh to play position 4 back when more of the heroes he could play were in meta. Don't blame Kuro for something he has very little control over. He does what his team needs and he literally carried his team on his back in that Naga game.

9k or not, Gh is still inexperienced as a support player while Kuro is a veteran.

Exactly my point. Miracle invoker, matu morph are all scary as fuck. Even when liquid wasn't performing well in DAC, OG quoted them as a tier 1 team who probably figured out the meta(prob in scrims, i think i read this off redbull interview). Problem is kuro is just outdrafting himself and his own team I feel? If they are just testing out drafts for group stages fine, but i've seen quite a few times kuro 4 just not working out as well.

People need to stop making dumb assumptions. Kuro playing 4 is probably a team decision and based on heroes. He plays the 5 more games than not. Maybe GH just isn't comfortable on Riki.

Plus, Kuro played most of that game really well, and he kept them in it as much as the Naga did.

And let's hold off on the despair for now, yeah? Sure, they may not be in their greatest form, but a couple of close losses to underdog teams doesn't mean much at this stage. Everyone loses to everyone in these group stages, and all they matter for is seeding anyway.

Didn't watch much of the Liquid games, but from what I did see, they seemed to lack some team cohesion. Someone gets caught out of position, someone tries to help, both die, someone else comes in and die as well. Just doesn't look like they are actually communicating properly. Maybe was just from what I saw, but I hope they get it togheter. If their teamwork gets sharper and their drafting gets abit better (naga isn't working, time to realise), they got all the tools to be the best in the world.

in the game they won vs dc, where miracle was on tinker, there was a moment where he and matu were both farming mid, and kinda fighting over cs. miracle was even pinging a creep that matu "stole". idk if they were just memeing, im probably reading too much into it

Kuro is a really bad 4 player. The biggest issue with the bulba roster pre change was that Kuro and Bulba both were 5's leading to really awkward 4 play from Kuro. That;s not a issue that's going to go away.

I feel that matu's item decisions were really poor if you look at the razor game he gets kyted around mk ult when a simple dragon lance would have single handedly won this game... Im just a 5K trash but still that was really painful to watch.

Still behind the boyz, i kinda wonder if they decided to stick with the same drafts as DAC knowing they aren't the best so they be cant be figured out before the tournament begins. (I'm really not into this kind of bracket btw, whats the point?)

They didn't lose that game because of Kuro #4.
They lost it because they drafted bad. Not real synergy apart from hook the enemy lock and laguna blade it. Hook useless against Ember, and very inefective against Spectre. So your initiator cant do shit against enemy cores, and once your mid shows up she gets raped. Rest is damage over time from naga, that doesn't really do anything apart from split push.

I agree, its not about kuro, he played an amazing riki. Problem was they had no physical dmg carry besides riki. Hard to win with naga and Lina, when the enemy has a lot of bkbs.

OK now those games felt like Liquid games, good stuff. Still some little misplays but overall well executed

Stop picking Naga & Magnus then we'll win.
They need to stop picking 'almost useless without their ult' heroes for MC. At least enigma is quite useful without blackhole still.

They re playing newbee, the Dota 2 Prof League Champs.
I dont like it - and I would not bet on liquid.

But lets be positive - they win it, then they re up against IG.

Lets be honest they face the best 2 chinese teams, I rate newbee higher than IG V or VGJ - they showed in the chinese tournaments how good they re.

We can win against both. #NONAGAPLEASE.

Both newbee and IG are very strong, and it will be up to some luck and execution ( assuming no one gets outdrafted ). Those will be games to remember. I am expecting 2:1 in both games. Cant wait to see them. Its a very strong tournament we cant expect to play against weak teams apart from maybe Ro16( only top two teams drafted that). But even then if we don't win against t1 teams we wont do shit. As top 8/16 is not really a result we are expecting.

So we have to win 4 times against top tier teams - we did it before, we can do it again. Fingers crossed.
