wait what .. Secret got eliminated by VP rofl (just woke up)
holy fuck this recurring theme of TI5 .. where x team do well against y team all year then at TI x team gets eliminated by y team
TI5 man it's something else

btw, why I can't see twitter posts anymore? I used to see them. Windows10 broke it?

from where from this site ? i can still see them
sometimes it doesn't appear immediately but if it's no appearing yeah you did something

there is nothing wrong with this team, if they do disband that would be a real shame.
there must be lots of doubts now with hype and fail at two of the biggest tournaments this year.
they must feeling pretty shitty and question if they can go all the way.
|
In the end TI5 is just 1 tournament so surely record wise secret is doing so well. They can still do better post TI5 tournaments as they did pre-TI5 but if it's about the money and/or honor yeah they surely lost to where it matters the most.

re:zai deleting things. wasn't he talking about taking a break way before TI? That's one of the reasons I was pretty sure secret was going to break up after TI. RTZ probably won't stick around without Zai either.

Yeah zai said that he was going to quit competitive dota to focus on his studies after TI5 cause he is doing so bad at school or almost failing alot of subjects.

I wouldn't be surprised if they disband after this. One of the most important reasons Secret was created is to become a powerhouse in EU and win the TI. Only one objective is completed now and considering how things went, they won't wait a whole year to aim for another TI.

This is a great team and despite never being a huge fan of their players in particular I absolutely admire them for their strategy and revolutionizing the way recent patches were played.
Inspirational play from all 5 players and proving to me that RTZ is not an overrated player with an overlarge ego.
I am sad to see them not win TI, and I am sad to know that Zai will most likely retire. Ah well

Possibly they felt forced to pickup the QoP so they couldn't have both Lina / QoP? The double BKB peirce is popular.
Well they did pick lina, 3 times, 2 against iG and one against vp (the first game) and then proceed to win all those games. And with a better drafting strategy, they could pick sf qop and have a lina on ppy if they really want to rely on those hero for RTZ and s4. s4's qop wasnt that bad, but vp know how to play around a qop and minimize it's impact so eventually it's less effective. Letting storm get so far in the draft, when it's your nemesis as you dont pick stuns, is really silly, even more when you ban anti mage. And again it's really weird when you see the draft they had when they won their first game against vp (3 stun + dark seer + a lot of aoe dmg)
I hope they stay together though, the next season with the majors is promicing a lot of quality tournaments (and probably lots of compendiums and $$ for the players). Zai might reconsider as they are still a strong squad beside some disappointments but did we ever saw a team playing 2 ti with no roster changes between ?

There's a price to pay for being the dominant team when going into TI. Everyone prepares against you and watches you with the most intent. In every TI except TI3, I think the most dominant team for the previous 6 months didn't end up winning. Navi in TI2 , DK in TI4 and now Secret in TI5. Alliance is the only team i can think of who were so far ahead of everyone else in their understanding of the patch and they almost lost too.

The easiest way to fix this team is to kick Puppey Kuro and S4 and recruit na dota talent.

I doubt it honestly. Zai seems extremely upset at this loss.
But I think people should understand how S4 has always sort of drafted. He does comfort picks, Puppey is the one that tries to out draft the other team (even if that means this team aren't familiar with the heroes he picks.) During their series against iG, RTZ was the one who called for Luna (he said this during interview after the series), and during drafting Puppey was talking a lot.
I was working today so I couldn't catch the series but from what I gathered, they fell back to the SF thing and lost because of it. I don't think it's S4's fault but their drafting at TI5 is very suspect. Main stage they did nearly the same thing every time. When they didn't stick to the same thing, they won. I don't think that's coincidence.

Pretty sure Newbee was the favorite coming into TI4.

To put it in perspective, this was after game 1 against iG

I feel that artour and zai might leave and secret becomes a full euro team.
