Resurrecting this thread to comment on how much better Secret is right now compared to anyone else. While i hated them when all that payment scandal blew up, it looks like stuff like that hasn't happened again.

They're almost mesmerizing to watch as they move around the map and how they execute their roles during the game.

That being said, this gap compared to other teams will reduce or even not exist at all due to:

1. having a huge target on their back

2. new patch resetting the meta

I would say both liquid and eg are almost on the same level as Scret and those 2 teams are the most thirsty for results, as liquid had a bad year til now and fell short after fighting through a long lower bracket and eg is always almost but never there.

We still have another minor and major until TI and I already feel like this TI is going to, again, be the most competitive ever.

Sidenote: Zai is the best player at the moment in my opinion, i want to see him lift the aegis sometime, even though i'll be rooting for Liquid.

Liquid had a good tournament but LGD, VG, Fnatic, and VP are also all contenders. TI, like the last two years, will depend a lot on who is in good form for the tournament

It is safe to say that the Big 3 are no longer the Big 3 as they were the last 3 years.
It is safe to say that EG joined the club, LGD VG, and NiP Are very close. Any of these 6 even 7 teams can win at any time against each other, i am excited to see the general rehearsal for TI - Epicenter and TI itself. Imagine having more of those 12 game days that we had the day before last in Paris?

IMO OG is also close, maybe they need 1 more tournament to prove that they are consistently a top team since ana returned. But yeah, the top 8 in dota is quite close right now, with maybe EHOME, Keen, Fnatic not too too far behind.

EHOME has been a shadow of their former self after Faith Bian got injured and two more players left.

Reviving this as we're closing up on TI and just released the preview for Secret https://www.liquiddota.com/forum/dota-2-general/549409-ti9-team-secret-one-mans-quest-for-greatness

Puppey continues to impress me, personally. Can't think of anyone that has had as big of an impact on Dota, for such a long time. His drafting is still second to none. Luna support always blows my mind!

On a sidenote: we'll be overhauling the team threads soon(tm).

Puppey has been a drafter since his inception in dota1. He's one of the most intelligent player in dota. Merlini, Kuroky and even Maelk have put good words about him. Anyway, Secret's weakness is either Nisha's item timing or Zai incapable to play a random hero. They are the favorite to win this TI. However, TI has always surprised me in one way or another when some heroes become meta or just pick spectre and win.

Man how can you say that. Zai is like the ultimate all around player in the world. IceIceIce is the only one that comes to my mind next to him when versatility and improvisation are in question.

I think if Secret got hold of this patch, it will be a semi-easy win. Anytime they have even a slightest draft adventage, they stomp the game. Secrets performance is on Puppey’s back 90% with the drafts. So gl and lets take it!

Yeah I fully agree with the above poster. Zai is KNOWN for his ability to play whatever they ask of him. Think it was Blitz who said that sometimes during Secret's drafts, Puppey will ask zai "hey can you play X?" and the answer will be "No but I'll figure it out". Zai is probably the most important player on the team, if they want to have a shot at the aegis.

MidOne and SunBHie out, Matumbaman and Heen in.

Secret really wants to win TI10. They pick up the people who know how to do it.

Well now every player in the roster can literally sacrifice himself in order for any of the other 4 to carry. This looke very close as a style to TI7 Liquid, but Puppey plays more greedy heroes that can actually impact the game in an offensive way than Kuro did.
We should'nt be surprised that Both the captains have similar views to how to win - as they actually grew togheter in Dota 2.
This will be an interesting dota year for sure. Good luck to the team this roster looks really really good!
