Qualifiers didn't have that many good teams. I really hope they can perform, but after the last two lan fails, i have some doubts.

So, losing to the eventual winner of the tournament, who happens to be the reigning TI champion, in the semifinal in 2 very close games is now a fail? Whew talk about high expectations.

Since they will probably play Liquid again soon, I hope they learned a lot from their loss! Secret sure could use the Pro Circuit points.

Let's have some hype here in this quiet thread!

Ace truly a farming god when he gets the space and wrecks shit with any hero he gets his hands on.
|
that was a good series, i wrote about their good drafts against liquid in the live thread, so i will save it. they did good, but their adjustments must stay at this level if they will win the major over EG (assuming they won't lose to navi-is-back).
to touch on ace's farming and i think as analyst member mentioned something related at perfect world: you'll often see him stacking and farming one side of opponent jungle when they have position. there is nothing worse than to be in the position where the only place you can farm is at the creeps that are shoved right outside your backdoor protection, and camps that are right next to the regular ward spot at the edge of jungle. even if that happens, the safest place is still supposed to be your opponents jungle in that situation, but this is only true if your timing is good or you play a hero like antimage.
ace is sharp enough that he can do it on any hero and he knows the boundaries well.
more than ever you must be able to read the movement and force a timely trade on enemy T2. i think this patch really favors smart teams and strong hero knowledge, more than before.

I want to comment about draft in Secret vs Liquid matchup and try to highlighting what i see as "great move" from Secret Fanboy herald scrub perspective.
Game 1 Liquid get Radiant side (bad sign, they always prefer Radiant over Dire in almost every match) Secret not banning Io against Liquid in first phase. (Thats crazy..!) IO arguably Liquid strongest hero and always get first phase banned by every team. Opponent team choose to target ban Yapzor Rubick (boo..) and also Puppey 10-0 record Bounty Hunter and filler ban Sandking. IO insta picked by Liquid and you know what.. it paired by its long-time lover and most buffed hero in 7.07. Yes you guess it right, Tony the tiny (Tiny and Io elemental adventure) "Okay, you got your 'balanced' hero and we do too. I choose you Lone Druid!" Puppey said while immediately second pick it. After Io (good sustainable hero), Liquid pick Omni (great healing hero) And Witch Doctor (moarrr heallling) Abaddon = discount Omniknight (lorewise and ability wise) The result is pretty clear, Secret got steamrolled. GG 0-1 for Liquid Game 2 Kuro is a smart guy, he banning Ace Druid, Yapzor Rubick (negate unnecessary shenanigans) and filler ban Sand King. Meanwhile our Captain choose to not first ban Io and Tiny (y u so stubborn Puppey). As i said, Kuro is smart he immediately pick Io for GH and Tiny for Matumbaman. Also his signature Tusk and a bit of fan service Miracle Dark Moon Invokaah (yay) No Omniknight Secret win game 2. Bounty Hunter is good. 11- 0 record. Stats dont lie. Kuro, next time ban BH instead of filler SK pls ty ty.
Game 3 Liquid first phase ban filler Sand King again (y u so stubborn Kky) Lone Druid, and 11-0 Bounty Hunter (thanks!) Deny pick Rubick (negate unnecessary shenanigans), choosing Ogre after that After self banned 2 game in a row, Yung P pick his signature Bane and Elder Titan (thanks Inflame!) combo with Razor (the idea is Sleep Stomp into Static Link) No Omniknight Opponent pick Morphling, guess Secret stick to the plan, LC picked (Duel on top of Sleep + Static Link) QOP of Pain picked in response by Liquid. I thing the idea is to confusing lane setup wether QOP mid or safelane (later we got offlane QOP instead) Respect last ban from both team Matu Lycan and Ace Meepo. MK last pick for boys in blue (good synergy with Ogre and great 1 on 1 matchup versus LC) Shadow Fiend for MidOne Result is MK dont get favorable matchup. QoP losing lane. Only Morphling having good farm and thats pretty much it

grats to Secret, they were just amazing today. Nothing that liquid tried worked, Secret always had the right answer. Super impressive tournament from Fata, he is my Personal mvp! Gg wp

Finally a convincing victory!! I'm so happy to see them play so well. One of the best finals ever! Really great games for both teams, I really didn't think we would be able to win in a b5 against TeamLiquid!

However, their fans have a lot to be proud of too this series, as you pointed out!

Good job Team Secret. The most valuble things in this tournament are they beat Liquid best combo hero (LO+Tiny in winner final Game 2) and beat Liquid signature heroes (GH kotl & Matu LoneDruid), and this really silent Liquid because Liquid could not win despite with their best heroes.
But TS still has their weakpoint, early game Midone, midgame Fata and late game Ace so far work out very well. We can see Ace is almost invisible in early phase in where the other 4 give him sufficient space to farm to prepare for late game, other team may study it and break the chain.

Congraz Secret, so far dominating International Dota 2. But the other team are equally strong, somehow luck is always at the Secret side. Good.

Welcome back TOP Secret, lol I m so glad that Midone beat Abed in the formal games in a grand final. No doubt much effort come from his teammates too. Great action from Yapzor rubick chasing DJ sandking and Midone kunkka the x saved himself from group gang Fnatic with superb counter. Fata blinking Razor with great initiation and Puppey scouting covered the whole game well, and dont forget the Ace lone druid juz another level for his opponent.
