Trying to divide teams into arbitrary tiers is a fairly pointless semantic exercise. There is no agreed upon definition or requirements neither does it have any practical implications. I get that some people love Alliance, what I'm curious about is why.
If anyone have energy or time to actually hate a dota team I envy them their care free life. I don't get why that would be a goal for you though. Negative attention better then no attention? If being a antagonist is all you want you could just come out in favour of a terrorist organization or something equally silly.
I'm not telling you what you should or shoulden't do. I just don't understand it. I might very well be the odd one out here.

Puck is just not a hero , sorry , but first phase pick! into a hero that uses dagon 5 as a build vs bkb lineups .... the hero probably has too much nostalgia for S4 , but he really does NOTHING once bkb`s are up, OD with similar farm just wrecked alliance into oblivion ..... a batrider wouldve done much better with a bkb disable..... hope they get a better drafting strats next games.

Calling it idolization isn't really fair. I mean, obviously some people do get very hardcore about it, but being a fan doesn't mean you have to worship the ground they walk on. It just means you like the team and root for them. And like I said, there are lots of reasons to be a fan of a team, some of which I named, and some of which are directly related to playing the game. Sure at the end of the day we're all watching for the Dota, but we're not robots. What doesn't make sense about wanting people you like to do well? Being good at the game just isn't the only thing people like about teams.

And on the subject of how long to leave their flights, it's definitely not so black-and-white. I mean for one thing it's entirely possible the players don't' really have much involvement when it comes to booking their flights, and also things like hotels are only booked by Starladder for X number of days, so flying in earlier would have been money out of the org's pocket. It's also very likely that they were expecting to have to play through the Shanghai qualifiers, so booking the flights earlier might not have made sense. For all we know earlier flights weren't even available. It's very easy to say in hindsight that they left it too late but there's definitely things to consider.
In some cases it is and in some cases it isn't. I admire people who are good at certain things and I find it more enjoyable to watch things when they are done on the highest level. Obviously this is a personal preferance but if you don't admire someone for their skill it seems to me you are left with personality worship. Which is something I'm incredibly uncomfortable with. I don't understand the concept of admiring unremarkable individuals. I do understand you want people you like to do well but I don't understand why you like them considering how little interaction you have with them and I would also draw a distinction between someone you like and someone you are a fan of. Being a fan implies something more then just liking them.
No of course, if the players are not in charge of fixing transportation it is not their fault. The person in charge of fixing transportation is the one to blame whoever that might be. Cancelations is a failry common occurance this time of year so it is a risk you are running if you don't go there in advance. No matter how you try to frame it it is not the organizers fault, and I certanly don't blame them for wanting to keep to a schedual. Just giving free wins to the teams Alliance was supose to play against results in a unfair advantage to the teams getting those free wins and it means less games - it reduces the quality of the viewer experience. I don't blame the organizers for wanting to avoid that. They could probably come to a solution but I don't see why they should settle for a lesser experience because Alliance wanted to cut it close with their travel plans.
Are you still at high school ? im asking seriously because your logic is really of a child , im sorry if i sound harsh , but it really is .... do you know what being a sport fan mean ? do you know that teams that are not Real Madrid or Barcelona for example have fans ? and tons of them ? not everyone likes the same things for the same reasons , there is a difference between saying "EG are a great team" and "Man i wish EG will win" , you cant seem to fathom it , also you are kinda acting like alliance moving 3 games to the middle of the schedule hurt the tourny in ANY way which it didnt , SL wanted to avoid a scenario where Alliance wouldnt show up at all or show up the 2nd day or somethign like that , which is fine. When you grow older and have some prespective of an adult you will look back at your posts and will laugh out loud , trust me.

I don't want to clog up the threat with needless repetition so I would ask you to try to understand what I'm saying befor replying to it. I'm 27 and working on my second degree at univeristy, I'm not sure how this is relevant? I would argue that fandom and idolization is something younger people indulge in more then older people, and where it is present in older people it is usually a remnant of that persons childhood. Again, I'm not sure how this is relevant?
You are repeating the questions I asked. I did that because I was curious what the answer was. It would be more helpful if you answered them instead of repeating them.
No I'm not "acting like alliance moving 3 games to the middle of the schedule hurt the tourny in ANY way". If you read it again you should be able to see that what I'm saying is that Alliance forfeiting 3 games would hurt the viewer experience because it would result in less games and free points for some teams. This didn't happen so it is completly redundant.

You shoulden't use words you don't fully understand the meaning of. Calling me arrogant would imply I see myself and my opinions as superior to others, I don't and at no point have I expressed that attitude. I have simply stated my views and why I have those views and asked someone with the opposing view to explain their reasoning behind it. So far people have mostly stated that they have those views and that it is silly to not understand why they have them even though they seem unable to explain it themself. Either that or they choose, like yourself, to change the subject to me, which is a fairly boring one I'm afraid. If you find it interesting that's fine..

For that reason I won't answer any posts that is off-topic. The questions remains if anyone want to take a stab at them. That I will answer.

First of all, Id argue that being a fan doesnt necesarily incline some sort of personality worship. For me personally, I dont particularly like any one person on Alliance but I do however cheer for the team. Secondly, Id argue that there's more than one type of joy in watching anything, as someone else mentioned, if you have an emotional bond due to whatever reason which can be formed as easily as having a common nationality or just a positive feeling about something. I don't think that there's alot of fans who actually worship every single player on a given team - you might just like individual playstyle or personality and that carries over to the team. To examplify, theres alot of individual athletes with fan followings which are not necessarily based on athletic superiority but rather personality, ethics or whatever other reason.
For me, Ive been a fan since NTH and their innovative lvl 1 rosh and was subsequently very impressed when they in a dota landscape dominated by chinese teams (at least as I remember it) went and won G-1 Champions League Season 5 undefeated through a series of Bo1s with a innovative TP rosh strat.
At that time, i guess by your logic it was reasonable to be a fan since they were the best team in the world but I still get positive feelings from when they won TI3 and I had stayed up all night and they were losing the final game just until the last minute - should i just discard that just cause they havnt done as well in the last few years? I will always root for alliance to some degree just based on that and I would assume that holds true for other people as well.
