Man, I'm having the opposite experience with diablo. My laptop has overheating problems, which tends to fuck up the fps so I eventually get hit by the bone cages and die because the fight takes so long. On the other hand, I found the elites going to diablo pretty easy with Tyreal helping. I had the same problem with Belial (green explosions = lag = death), I eventually had to kill him using someone else's computer.

Ive been thinking a lot about how to skill my monk.
Aorn im at 8k armor with hard target, 11k dps unbuffed, 800 loh, 500 resis and 40k hp.
I just finished a siegebreaker run with 5 stacks, its not easy but doable.

I use deadly reach (+50% armor), serenity (4 sec), blinding flash (60% miss on elites), breath of heaven (+15% dmg), evasion mantra (+20% armor) and just started with sweeping wind (larger radius).
Sweeping wind because of resolve, my line of thinking was if i use resolve its useless unless i hit everything around me, it definitively helps.

Does anyone have experience with Crippling wave (reduced dmg)? On paper it should work good but it didnt really impress me.
Fist of thunder would be awesome to have because of the slight knockback but i dont like any of the runes.

Act 4 should be possible (and is as i just saw the screens some of you posted ^^) but it needs a lot better gear than what i have.

I know some on here double primary with the crippling wave reduced damage and the deadly reach armor rune. As for crippling wave being your dedicated primary, I don't think that would work out well because it's damage is low, spirit generation is low, and of course you have to be constantly hitting mobs for it to be in effect.

Friend of mine who couldnt do act3 on his monk made a DH, dinged 60 yesterday he's already farming act2/3, rather depressing.

I'm on my way to doing much the same. I've finally gotten my monk to the point where I can take out trash mobs in act 3 and some elites(really depends on type/mods), but 10 million worth of gear to be barely able to do act 3. Pretty sure equivalent value on a DH gets you into act 4, probably with diablo kill too.

i finally.. FINALLY surpassed the act 2 gear wall and am now in act 3.

imagine my surprise when i hit a new wall.

completely over it, playing dh in HC now... really wishing i made one as my first character in SC .....

Same here, I finished act II and I'm farming it. Act 3 looked like a new challenge, it did not surprise me or stop me in my run, I was even more motivated. But I'm looking for a new weapon (I absolutely need it) and since prices are just hitting the sky I got bored and now I'm leveling a Wizard. Those prices are making me mad, I feel like they are increasing by 1 million per hour :-/

Same. Finished Act 2, realized I needed significant upgrades that cost astronomical amounts of gold to make headway in Act 3, rolled a DH to farm more effectively.

After kind of struggling on certain elites in act2, I decided to join a pub for maghda. Tanked like everything while the rest died, was kinda funny as I died so many times solo with the same gear. Barb shout so good.

I'm struggling with finding a truly good weapon. If I'm going to dump 10mil into a weapon, it needs to be the right type of upgrade. And it just seems there is never the right kind on the AH for the price I'm willing to pay. It leaves me at a huge impasse since w/o a bunch more life on hit and dps, I'll never progress beyond where I am in Act 3. I continue to farm act 2 in hopes of getting gear to sell that will allow me to up that 10mil, but it is just so tedious and unrewarding that getting the will to push on is hard.

Although perhaps equally depressing is the knowledge that even when I find a new weapon, the sheer amount of HP I'm going to lose from changing weapons means I'll have to regear additional pieces to have enough HP to survive.

I was asking a question o.O most people were saying diablo hits less hard than a lot of stuff in act 4. I'm still at the siegebreaker run phase of act 3 myself. A 5 NV stack diablo run is pretty impressive though. My stats aren't a lot different with 1300 life on hit 800 all resists (860 weapon dps) so I'm wondering if I should focus on attack speed/dexterity for DPS to be able to clear the rest of inferno. (I'm at 1.84 attacks/second and 1.1 k dex)

I assume you didnt raid HM in wow. ^^

Movement speed is sick. It's great for deadly reach kiting and great for dodging anything. It will many times save your life. I played a lot with movement speed boots then bought ones without them for like 10-15hours. I just had to take my movement speed boots back again.

People who do act 4 with monk. How did you get your gear? Where did you get items that are worth something? I have hard time with act 2 goblin runs or elitefarming because the loot is so crap.

I got most of mine by checking the AH between every run and getting good deals. Did about 10 SK runs. Then did about.. 20? warden/butcher runs, which got me into act 2. Did about.. 30 Dalgur Oasis runs. Then, I got really lucky on a weapon in the AH and started farming siegebreaker. Upgraded my last few bad pieces of gear and went to kill Diablo.

I spent about 10M, 4 of that on the weapon. I'm using rings and gloves I found in act 2, the rest comes from AH. 46k hp, 6k armor, 700 res, 21k dps, 1700 dex, 1200LoHit, -8% ranged, unbuffed.

I wanna look at the monk to see if it is fun, but not many monks stream and those that do suck (they are farming non combat or they are low level) any streams u guys can recommend recordings are fine too
