Pretty disappointed in the situation for melee classes as far as Inferno is concerned. I know plenty of DHs who have awful gear (and I've never seen be good at any game before) who are farming Act 4 and the secret "Pony" level on Inferno. They're getting miles ahead of me in terms of wealth etc. whilst putting in less playtime than I am on my barb. These people are doing well purely because of Demon Hunter imo, and I find it pretty shitty.
DHs get one shotted in inferno with shitty equipment (and even with good equipment then they get two shotted). there is no way a DH can herp derp their way through inferno. in fact, getting hit once will mean you die.. either you're exaggerating or your friends are very good at kiting.
They can if they're just farming certain areas like he says. I've got friends in the same boat. They're getting sick items and making millions in a day and they have horrible gear in comparison to my barb.

Guys, a quick question:
My current Belt: 300 Armor +39 Strength +106 Vitality +37 Physical Resistance +43 Resist All
Is it worth it to invest 70% of my savings into a String of Ears with: 272 Armor +93 Strength -16% Dmg taken from melee +19 Resist All +90 Life on Hit +Random useless mods.
Some quick response will be appreicated, thx

Quick question, I'm using a belt that gives ~150 vita ~170 str. Should I invest on a new belt that does about same stats but with like +40 resist or should I get String of Ears even though it will lower my vita and str by alot. reduction worthes it? If anyone who actually kills in act 3 inferno could answer it will be great!

Ignorance is Bliss isn't affected by the lifesteal reduction in difficulties > Normal, right? I'm hesitating between that and the 7s extended duration (just started Hell).

lifesteal% through skills is reduced by difficulty ignorance is bliss still heals a decent chunk of hp but i wouldn't rely on it too much

Made it to inferno. I am fixated on finishing it like I did the previous difficulties. With a manly 2hander and +dmg/+crit build. I won't swap to 1h/board/defensive build no matter what. My stats atm are, 25k hp, 4.5k armor, 9.6k dmg, 320ish allres. My weapon is 800ish dmg so that's the first thing I will upgrade but just a look at the ah got me disheartened, wtf with all these people asking for millions and millions. I have only 750k so I need best value for money deals. Gonna take a while.
Anyone else trying the manly road and how's it going in the later stages of inferno?

How much are we talking about here to get the String of Ears?

320 base All Res or Fully buffed?
Going to need: Over 1,000 All Res, over 1,000 Life on Hit, 8,000 Armor, over 35% melee reduction.
A Few items that are going to be more an likely must needs: Weapon hopefully has 750+ Life on Hit String of Ears is going to be a must, ensure reduction is 18% or higher and also life on hit is solid on it Fire Walkers for the movement speed, melee reduction, and try to get them with Vit

Tnx for the advise. The stat is base all res.

Going to take quite a bit of work to do that.

Lol, Steveling, I give you about 2 days before frustration gets the best of you. That armor/block that shield gives you is essential, and the 2-hander doesn't help NEARLY as much as you'd think.
I have about 802 life per hit total and I still have issues with some elite mobs. And that's with a "max survive" build.
But good luck. Let us know how far you got.

If an Invuln Minions pack is troublesome, it's because of other properties--which would have killed me before Invuln Minions became an issue anyway.

Agreed. I have 690 life per hit total and my life spikes like crazy. I can farm Act II but man I am not sure if you can farm Act IV champs with a Two Hander.

Not gonna happen bro! I figure that you either are a bearded barbarian or a little pretty girl with a shield, rofl.
Now, I gave it a bit of thinking. Even with my shitty stats and my shitty weapon my crits hit for 50k and they go up to 70k when they proc with revenge. What if I stack all my armor with +frenzydmg and +crit and ignore melee protection and stuff like that. Am I crazy?

Realistically, I think a 2H is more suited for a Seismic Slam or Weapon Throw build, rather than the standard Revenge-tanking style.
|
I have 10k armor / 600 resist / 45k hp, I still 3 shotted in act 3 so good luck to you if you think you can go in there and revenge everything rofl.

Totally agree...Your going to be playing it like a range class .

I don't know if this has any base, but I feel as if Barbarian gear is more expensive than any other class. First because we are the only STR class, it randomized between 1/5 STR 2/5 DEX 2/5 INT (theory only!) there is less chance to drop good STR gear. Also Barbarian is the most gear dependent class, good gear is hard to come by while other classes can get by in the same content with lesser gear. Any upgrade to my barbarian right now goes for a minimum of 2-3M gold =( (not including lucky low-price finds)
|
Not really true. Amulets and rings go for tens of millions regardless if it is str, dex, or int. Any gear with the primary stat, resist all, vit, and some other stats go for tens of millions.
2-3 mil isn't all that much tbh.
