I have similar stats overall and I'm starting to try Act II, was it worth it to spend the money in a socketed weapon and does it make a big diference compared to a Ruby in the socket?

I'd say it was worth it. The effect wasn't as big as I anticipated (most of the stuff I have trouble with in A2 Inferno is stuff that I can't stand and left-click against), but I feel it was worthwhile. I would definitely use an Amethyst in a weapon socket instead of a Ruby. Maybe not if you're using lower-level rubies, but the amount of +damage from rubies scales linearly, while each iteration of Amethyst multiplies on the previous one's life on hit values by 1.5x to 2x. If you're working with Perfect Square, Radiant Square, or Star gems, I have a hard time thinking that, say, +24 damage is going to outweigh 190 life on hit.

Life on Hit is going to be very helpful for progression through inferno. With Revenge it makes it amazing. My question though is...Is Justice Lantern worth the slot or would a All Resist, Vit, Str ring be better. I am at 800 fully buffed All Resist, 23-25% Melee Reduction, around 25% block rate, and 40k life. What kind of build are you using for Act II inferno? If your at Act II or higher is it working?

I'm not sure about Justice Lanter, I've been eyeing them as well but too lazy to math out the block vs straight mitigation (like resistance). However, if your stats are true you can sleepwalk through ACT2. I know I do with similar stats. This is the build I use. http://us.battle.net/d3/en/calculator/barbarian#WTVXPk!bVZ!cccaZc I skip superstition because elites dont live long enough to hurt me and I can use the DPS bump. I think I run with about 14k dps before frenzy maniac kicks in. I use a similar build for ACT4 boss farming but even more dps oriented. I go back to nearly full tank (both armor passives+superstition) when I do act3 though.

With those stats assuming you have a weapon that gives you any sort of meaningful dps (9-16k) you can sleep through ACT2. I'm not sure about Justice Lanter, I've been eyeing them as well but too lazy to math out the block vs straight mitigation (like resistance). However, if your stats are true you can sleepwalk through ACT2. I know I do with similar stats. Ya Act II is getting a lot easier just trying to figure out ways to get better. So that I can finish up inferno ![]()

I'm progressing through Inferno, but I've stopped after Maghda so that I can slow down and get a better feel for my performance vs. various champion types and try new builds. I also need to farm more gold to keep up my gear progression and A1 is easier to farm than A2 right now.

I have only 1100 ish STR, down from 1600, 8.5k armor with War Cry, ~750 all resists, 49k HP, 9.5k damage (down from 14.5k when farming act I, QQ). I don't know what block is, probably 20% for 3k damage. This is after getting a couple lucky upgrades clearing Act III with a wizard and DH friend up through Siegebreaker Assault Beast last night. I began that act with more like 600-650 on resists, 42k hp, 8.4k armor. I got this ridiculous weapon with around 115 STR and 268 VIT. I remember that Vitality and almost the same dps as my old weapon but a huge life upgrade. The 3rd stat was roughly the same +100 dex or Int. Sadly, no lifesteal, but survivability is high enough that Revenge and CDs get it done for now. Lastly, I have a feeling that the tower towards Heart of Sin will be more difficult as it was in NM and Hell, and I'll be wanting a little more + resists soon, if not for Act IV.

Act I farming stats: (old screen shot, lower resists but 25k dps) + Show Spoiler + ![]() Act II trash/elite clearing stats: ("progression" build, full tank) + Show Spoiler + ![]() Act II Belial solo stats: (hybrid, needed extra dps + Pound of Flesh for phase 3) + Show Spoiler + ![]() Act II farming stats: (work in progress, no extra dps so pretty slow farming) + Show Spoiler + ![]() The last screen shot has a +3% melee damage reduction Kymbo in it but I'm still building up life on hit (weapon gem is only +190 with no base life on hit on weapon). Soloing Zoltun Kulle required a kiting build using Weapon Throw + rage/life regen. The blue quality gear I'm using in the final screen shot have 70-75 all resist on them each. Skill build isn't anything special and is usually some variant on this.

The only other pieces I have left to update are shoulders, bracers, rings, and weapon. Unfortunately I'm no where close to affording rings or weapons since they cost upwards of 10 million.

I feel like String of Ears is required for a good one. I would try to get 17% or higher melee reduction on the String of Ears. If you can find one with other stats that are good then I would get it. I got one with 19% with +80 Life on Hit. I bought it for like 750k that was 5 days ago. Now I am thinking some Elite Reduction will help also so I can tank the elite mobs easier ![]()
