Hey guys.... having trouble upgrading my barb without spending ~800m. Wondering if there's something out there in the AH that i'm missing. i've been looking high and low for items and am coming up short. Budget is 1.2b but really would like to be as cost efficient as possible -- (dont want to spend 600m on 3k dps, etc) recently tried switching out my ik belt for a top end witching hour but lost heaps of survivability and had to sell it back  .Rings pretty much have to stay. Any idea how much i'd have to spend to switch to a duel-1h build and maintain the same dps/lifesteal? (or know of any websites that i can use to check) skorn is obv nice but hard to upgrade at this point as its gonna run me close to 2b. thanks!

I would ditch the hellfire ring (even though you say it has to stay) and ruby in your hat. At mp10, you already get 510% exp, so boosting that to 576% isn't that exciting. An amethyst will give you a nice boost to survivability and let you replace some of your defensive items. You also have really low attack speed and crit chance, I'm guessing you have a hard time perma wrathing with a skorn. 9% lifesteal is also way overkill, you can get by with 3%. Your best bet is to probably go w/ 2 1h'ers, but I'm just starting to price out 1h weapons myself so I can't help too much with that.

check at d3up.com. You'll need an Echoing Fury for dual wielding, so take in mind that +0.21/0.25aps applies to both weapons.
Actually your Skorn is the easiest upgrade since you don't need one with life steal while using Rend/Bloodlust.
Anyway I don't know why you're having trouble finding upgrades with a 1b budget.
Helm: 230+str or 60+ res
Shoulders: more str and/or more vit (don't focus on Vile Ward, they're overrated and overpriced for barbs)
Ammy: lot of potential here but the vit + ar makes it hard to replace
Chest, gloves, lacuni ok
Belt: 200+str, vitality
Hellfire isn't worth it at high MP, if you are afraid to lose a lot of protection buy a good Litany of the Undaunted with a good random stat (cd, ias, 200+str, high average damage)
Pants are decent, although Inna's with str/vit should provide more dps (in that case you'll need Ice Climbers with high str/vit and no movement speed)
Boots ok

Any suggestion on how to improve my DPS while still being able to survive high MP, say 7-8? I currently have 58k HP and 620 AR unbuffed and w/o any defensive passive, so reducing them to 50k and 550 is acceptable, aiming to raise unbuffed DPS to around 180k, budget is 300-500M.

First off thanks for the feedback, I appreciate it. I usually do between mp8-mp10... Didnt even consider how small of an experience boost i was getting from the helm and hellfire ring. Ill probably start off by replacing the helm and hellfire and going from there. should provide me with a nice boost. will report back later today after work

Basically everything Black Gun said. I did notice your skills are pretty wonky. In the remote chance that you weren't just messing around prior to logging off, make sure to switch out Frenzy for Battle Rage. Also switch out Unforgiving for Brawler or Berserker Rage.

5 piece IK just doesn't seem worth it, inna's pants, mempos, witching hours, ice climbers all give nice dps boosts if you can fit some of them in your gear. I do like that people are using brawler or berserker rage passives in their builds, I'm gonna have to try that myself.

Yea I've replaced IK belt with The Witching Hour and swapped in a Unity, considering getting a Mempo but crit ones are really really expensive.

Your whole gear is probably worth less than 200mil, how can you not find upgrades with that budget?
Upgrade gems as others have said.
Helm: 230+ str or 60+ress
Amulet is decent, although that +damage is almost worthless using a Skorn, so ~200str should be better
Chest: more str and/or vit
Gloves: attack speed (if you can't keep wotb up) or critical damage
Lacuni: strength
Belt: vit
Rings, pants ok
Boots: more str and/or more vit, yours are worth around 100k gold...
Skorn: more dps and/or more strength (up to ~550)

I have also tried a rend/overpower build with a 1m skorn that looked quite cool, but I became way squissier and died even at mp6, with this setup I can farm mp7 easily for keys and do mp7 ubers.

HP is way too low.
-Start crafting VIT BoA Shoulders.
-Get Inna's Temp with 100+ vit.
-Immortal King chest will also be a good upgrade and will unlock Reduce melee by 4% IK set bobus.
-You can switch your ice climbers to Immortal King boots, this will also give you movement speed.

Ya, definitely get some vit on your chest. IK is a good choice, just make sure to get that movespeed somewhere else.
You don't need the life on hit gem, you have enough lifesteal w/ the belt + passive.
You are wearing int ice climbers, look for some rares or IK or another ice climbers, maybe try to get movespeed too (since you wanna replace your chest).

Inna's with 100 vit ~5m
If I get an IK chest it wont be for the shitty -4% damage would be to be able to replace another piece of the set out.
The ice climbers I didnt look for the int, was just what was available cheap, getting a bit under 200 str with similar vit should be at least 6-7m (not even talking about getting the 12% movespeed)
I like the point about swapping out the lifesteal gem, will try that.
Maybe I should have said I was looking to improve teh damage, since as I said, surviving, at mp 7 is not the problem,, but it takes way too long to kill thigs

Also, any ideas on what to look for a cheap weapon upgrade? been looking at maces for a damage output upgrade, even tried a friend's echoing fury with a 100% cc gem and about 1200 and while the damage was better I lost way too many defensive stats

I'm playing HC with my Barb. Just finished Normal, got around 500 dps, 4.5k life, 1500ish armor. Is this ok to start immediately progressing through Nightmare?
