I don't play a DW barb, so I don't know too much about it. But, what I do know is that there is no reason at all to get Helm of Command or Justice Lantern, since you have no use for the extra block chance. Also SoE is usually sub par in the most situations. In some situations where you have hard hitting melees as your only threat it's a good item to switch to, but in most situations a belt with solid attributes is better.

This is actually a good thing. Otherwise, any level 60 item with reduced level requirements wouldn't show up when you searched for level 60 items only, and could potentially make you miss out on some good items.

Could any1 link me to the weapon throw barbarian 100k+dps thread?

Why would you ever search for lvl 60 items only? You look for certain stats, and when the stats on the item are like you want them, you dont care about level requirement if you are 60. Searching for lvl 60 takes away a spot in the filter that could be used in a useful way.

I have about 40 mil in my stash now, is that enough to pump a barb in terms of gear to be capable of farming ACT 3 comfortably as DPS spec?

Yep, I agree. I think the only time I can think of where I might have considered searching for level 60 only are shields, as they have a higher block amount ... but even then, the stats and minimum values I search for won't spawn on lower level shields anyway ...

Hey barbs !
I read that some builds use an offhand and don't care about its stats. Would that be worth something as an offhand ?

If you're doing the weapon throw build, yes the DPS doesn't matter, but the other stats definitely does.
Preferrably, you want high STR (250+), critical damage AND a socket on it.

If you run a Sprint/WW Barb, it could be, because Sprint relies on MH damage only. But your WW does alternate between MH and OH.

Hello fellow Barbs I finally made an alt from my Wizard and just seeking a point in the right direction for advice on good solo lvling spec from 25 til whenver it runs out. Just wondering if there is any key lvls where you can go from 1h / shield to DW or even 2hander? Is there major lvl when I should redo my build based on a new key ability completely?
Thanks for the pointers!

Nothing specifically, really. Before Inferno, you can get away with anything. For specific skills, as long as you're not in some hurry to reach 60, then, no, just have fun! Only after entering into Inferno do you actually have to worry about defensive stats.
Dual-wield is viable pre-Inferno as well as 2H. But in Inferno, you would probably need a build specifically tailored for using 2H or 1H+shield, or dual wielding.

Well I do plan on getting to 60 by monday so I guess I should of stated I want the fastest lvling build possible and I can purchase gear to back that up being this is an alt.
Wanted to add I am 50 now so going forward as I will put gear in my stash for when I have 60. What is my main focus to start clearing Inferno with a solid build.
1. Do I want stack vit / str items? 2. Do I need a certain amt of life on hit or life steal? 3. Do I need a very specific stats on my weapon and is 1hand / shield best way to start out?
Thx for the input I really do enjoy the help and if anyone has a link to a good starting Inferno or possible running Hell for practice build I am open to suggestions! I would prefer a AE DPS spec as I do intend to gear up fast.

Ok, so the Double Tornado build (Sprint/WW) is super fun and amazing for soloing, but my gear isn't good enough to do a lot of damage with the build, and it would appear that you don't hold aggro on a mob unless you are auto-attacking it. As such, I'm pretty much useless in public games, which I like to do for a change of pace every now and then. The only thing I can do in a public game is survive and hold stuff, which is useless if your DPS are any good.
My solution is to run a tank build so I can both survive AND keep my squishies safe. The thing is, I don't know the first thing about what to use for a tank build... both gear wise, and build.
Can someone point me in the right direction? Specifically, I'm wondering how I keep myself alive since I won't likely be running spells that hit dozens of times a second like I do with Tornados, and so I don't see LOH being very viable.
Also, how do I keep mobs off my Wizards, Witch Doctors and Demon Hunters? Does anyone know anything about the threat mechanics of this game?

You could always try the Sprint/WW build using a +cold damage weapon in your mainhand - you will snare everything you hit.

how many loh does a barb need to farm act3 comfortably?
i always tried to have around 800 (400 by each weapon) and act2 is so easy, fast and funny. Now i have two rings which give me loh as well and i have around 1200 now so i was thinking about replacing one weapon to get much more damage.
a friend of mine said even 400 might be enough in that case i could replace both weapons for much much more damage. Would you recommend this?
about weapons: when are axe/maces recommended and when are other 1handers better?
|
You don't need much LoH as long as you have the DPS to kill the elite fast enough.
Axe for weapon mastery, sword is good, mace is too slow imo, spear just sucks.
