MM > AO for bosses. 175% that runs out of AP can't compare to 143% at full spammability. Give that a try.
Fully depends on your skill and willingness to die to progress. Right now, you have at least three times the EHP * DPS wizards had when clearing act4 and inferno diablo after the force armor nerf.

Here are my stats and gear: 20k DPS / 25k buffed. 3400 armor, 5800 buffed. 360 AllRes.
I plan on switching to 1h/OH, and could put all 20m into that, with a 10m weapon and 10 m OH. If I went that route, I would be fine to spend a day or two stalking the AH to get a good deal at that price. What kind of stats would you hold out for at the 10m price level for each slot?
OR, would you spend less money on the weap/oh and spread it around a little more evenly to get more crit%/dmg? While that does make sense to spend less on each item overall, due to decreasing benefit per cost as you go higher in the millions, I worry that if I bought 4 items they'd be obsolete much sooner than if I bought 2.
Also, how does anyone stay alive in inferno without LoK? I've been relying pretty heavily on a +2700 LoK weapon, and it doesn't look like that will be a stat that I will have on my next.
Since no one wants to answer, I'll ask a simpler question. If you were going to spend 10m on a 2h with socket, what stats would you hold out for?
1300 (dps + int), socket, 50%+ crit damage, 0.9 speed. I just sold a sword with 750 dps (no int), socket, and 77% crit dmg for 12 mil gold, so if you're dead set on a 1h, that's about where you can settle at.
So I left my Wizard to just gold farm for my Barb since I beat Inferno a month ago or so, but now I felt the urge to come back to try that Crit build video that was posted here... Seems very fun.
How much gold do I need for that? I'm broke on gold after selling all my Wiz gear on RMAH, and Barb gear is so expensive... I might consider flipping them for new Wizard gear.
At a guess, probably 10 mil? Basically enough to survive, some ap on crit, and some crit chance.
It really isn't all that effective (it fails horribly against invul minion/shielding/teleporters like phase beasts, or stuff with fire chains), and chances are it'll be nerfed to the ground sooner or later (see: living lightning/venom weapon).

I have about 4 million to upgrade my gear. What should I start with? Currently bidding for a helm, hopefully I can get 150int/4crit chance/mf/gf/socket for under 1 million..
To finance my future purchases, do you think I can sell any of these items for 8-digit sums of gold?
150 allres ? you need at lest 3-400 and run FA. if u can get up to 5-600 resists then u can switch to Prismatic and lol through act3. I'm sitting at 45k dps 30% crit 200% crit damage 32k hp and 900 fire/physical resist (others 800) 5k armor.
i wouldn't anything else then +all res +fire or +all res +physical the other resists are imo worthless. i'd start with belt, pants, shoulders and boots (aka shit that can't have crit).
most valuable item is probably the neck ? dunno about 8 digits tho
I have to respectfully disagree. There seems to be so much emphasis placed on having all resists. I'm not saying it is not important but it is overemphasized to a point where if you have a limited budget there is no way you'll should sit at 45kdps 32khp and 800 res as opposed to something like 75kdps 40khp and 400 res.
Almost everything in act 3 inferno is kiteable. If you're getting hit by standard trash mobs, you are bad - learn to kite and learn to dodge projectiles. Most elites are easily kiteable, whether temporal flux/AO or blizzard/hydra or whatever kiting methods you use (that discussion is for another day).
Personally, I don't have all day to play so I have to spend my gold wisely. I am currently sitting at 110kdps buffed like 48%crit chance and 250%, 45khp, 400 all res (running Force armor still, I never get hit for more than 3 consecutive hits in a row + diamond skin makes all elites killable). The only issues I have are damage reflect phasebeasts, which even if you had 1000 all res with my dps, they'll still own your face. You can just lure them into a corner, die, respawn and continue with your run. Even the BEST geared wizards I know/watch on stream get owned by phasebeasts with OP pre-fixes.
A good offense is a good defense. Especially as wizard. There is just so much utility with skills/defense CDs that if you are on a budget - always stack DPS over all res. Your 'lacking' in all res can be made up with great kiting ability and skills; dps can't be made up. You either do this much damage, or that much damage.
I would much rather have something like 75k dps, 40k hp, 300-400all res compared to 45k dps, 32k hp, 800-900all res. And I'm positive that the difference is the same price in gold.
I feel all res (gearing towards the 800+ range is a luxury stat). You shouldn't be 'focusing' on all res until you're at 1900+ int, 900+ vit, 75k dps+ buffed (with force weapon or familiar sparkflint - only 1). Then you can start farming for gear/gold, and buying equipment to swap out for the same int/dmg stats but now with all res.
i can't be bothered to avoid every fucking arrow thrown at me. i'd rather lol and sit in Azmodan pools rather then die if all my CDs are up and he put one under you. to each his own tho i guess.
everything is lol with 900 res. i can face tank most act2 elite packs....

Sounds like you do have all day to play, with those stats LOL. I bought strong gear from the RMAH to compensate for my month of inactivity and i'm nowhere near that level of dps.

Haha. I don't have 9-digit sums of money to splurge on allres equipment. I'll stick to kiting stuff that's coming at me.. that's what WDs are doing all the time anyway...
Now to wait for some sucker(s) to sell cheap stuff for me to snipe.
Wait so I would have better luck in Act 2 (which I'm stuck in) and beyond if I have 800+ all resist? Because I was previously told in this thread if you had 400-600 you would be better keeping Force armor and not using Prismatic?
Gear is 45k DPS buffed, 30k HP , 25% crit and 200% crit dmg. Only have 3m in bank and have not seen solid upgrades for most my gear is magic lvl 59/60's because everything is crazy priced and I don't have time to bid and win auctions in last 10 mins with working 2 jobs any advice?
Alright, I'm stuck. I'm at act 1 inferno. I have 13k dps buffed and 12k hp. I know that crap. My question is, how do I make it better? Atm I only got 200k and everytime I kill a blue pack I actually lose money from dying so much.
My build is blizzard, ao, hydra, force armor, magic weapon and diamond skin. I use reduce mana cost on ao and blizzard, poison hydra, force armor with the 35% health rune.
Passives are glass cannon, ap regen and galvanisign ward.
Would love to hear some advise, I really want to beat the game but atm it just isn't fun anymore.

you need to gear up and go more on survivablity. remove glass canon and add prisma armor.
for your build a high dps 2h weapon, (they are really cheap) will make kill mobs alot easier and change your primary to shock pulse with orb rune in this case.
your on EU i suppose? we can play alittle if you want pm me your ID
Ty for the reply. I dip a couple of bids on some nice upgrades, if I manage to win them then that should help. I got a 600 dps weapon atm, I thought that was sort of fine.

Try doing it like that. I have 23k DPS, 34k life, 300 res unbuffed and that worked for me on 2nd try. Basically you kite him around in a circle with blizzard and venom hydra so that the first clouds are already gone when you get to the start again.

Use teleport / fracture instead of magic weapon and it will solve all your problems... and illusionist instead of glass cannon.
Magic weapon is borderline useless until you have like 50k dps and if your mechanics are decent it stays useless even then.

Magic weapon can overcome some gear deficiency if you're getting swarmed, but familiar is generally better. Try Familiar arcanot instead of Astral presence and magic weapon, replacing the latter with evocation or something. As for teleport, I prefer wormhole.
has anybody else tried spectral blades (healing rune)?
i was playing a hydra/blizzard build and due to arbitraging for a couple of days i could effort an amazing gear: 33k life 58k damage, 1000 all resis (with prismatic amor AND glass cannon), 2000 life reg (with galvanising rune) and 200 life on hit along with increased dmg vs elites
now i went for spectral blades and exchanged the green gem in my wand for a purple one, reaching 700 life on hit - without losing much damage due to changing hydra into familiar sparkflint.
I can easly kill everyting in act1 / act2. this is so much fun i can tell you. I can tank butcher, belial and most of the champion mobs. however in act3 / act4 it gets difficult, mobs are hitting harder and meelee becomes less viable. I believe hydra/blizzard build is better there.
but i was thinking if i could double the amount of life on hit. f.e. getting a weapon with life on hit and ouroboros amulett. I would probably loose about 3-5k damage, 50 all resis and 200 life reg but reaching about 1400 - 1600 life on hit. Has anybody tried act3/act4 with a huge amount of life on hit along with spectral blades? What are your experiences with meele wizard?
