For the 3rd slot I use steady aim, but I see a lot of dhs running Night Stalker or Tactical Advantage.

Sharpshooter or Steady Aim depends on how good your gear is. If your gear is good enough to have at least 40% crit chance, then Steady Aim hands down, otherwise, don't bother with crit chance gear at all, replace them with crit dmg% gear and go Sharpshooter. Not sure how reliable Night Stalker would be. The mobility that tactical advantage gives is too good to give up imo, especially before bosses while you're building up Valor and if you don't run Vault. Even if the talent turned itself off for anything sustained, that 1 second will always have value. I look forward to getting two high powered 1 handed crossbows with sockets. I might have to wait until the legendary buff patch since dead man's legacy is a VERY good quiver. False. After a certain % crit chance Sharpshooter won't proc pass 2-3 seconds which is a waste of a passive talent. 1 guaranteed critical shot at the start of the battle is nothing compared to Steady Aim's 20% boost.

You didn't read everything I wrote. Also: 1 guaranteed critical shot at the start of the battle Makes me think you don't know how sharpshooter works. Or how elemental arrow works. Or how either of them works. You can also do better than tactical advantage. You should always have Steady Aim, Sharpshooter, and always Archery. What is different is Sharpshooter versus Nightstalker, Tactical Advantage honestly isnt part of the menu -.- I would take cull the weak before Tact Advant

Tactical Advantage is VERY useful for certain affix combinations. Imagine getting walled in while running away with a pack of mobs waiting on the open end and you have to Smoke Screen early to avoid Frozen/Jailer/Mortar. Also, the idea of must have passives is silly. Here is a stunlock tank DH build that uses non of the currently popular glass cannon passives: http://us.battle.net/d3/en/calculator/demon-hunter#bZgVhl!Zbf!YaYcYc

40 percent sounds like an OK number. Bit high though. You also dont need anyones permission to use bad builds >.>

And your idea of must have passives all just increase damage in a state of the game where people don't have access to high end gear. >_> -_- o_o <_< :o ![]()

But I guess if you are a really fresh DH with only 500k or something with a 400 DPS bow sharpshooter wouldnt look so great. What does the DPS of your weapon have to do with anything? It doesn't matter what your DPS is, you will deal more damage having Steady Aim or Archery over Sharpshooter. It's a terrible passive for boosting damage and having better gear that have crit chance will only make it worse. The only way to make Sharpshooter worthwhile is to have gear with loaded +crit damage and a build that'll have you shoot for a second, run around doing nothing, and shoot for another second.
