as much as possible. i think the desired values are somewhere around 30% crit and 200%+ crit dmg. I personally have only about 20% crit and over 200% crit dmg, and my gear isnt that good

Switching gear apparently resets sharpshooter now ?

Just a xbow is enough + crit dmg to farm stuff like ponies easily. Just type in max bid 300000 on 2 handed weapons and more then enough 1k+ weapons show up. Buy 2x assailing ring of pain (search for 70 dex 15 aspd rings, sort on buyout, they start around 40k), bracers with dex + crit, amulet with aspd + dex (100 dex, 15 aspd amus go for like 20k), boots with dex+movespd, gloves with a combination of dex/aspd/crit/critdmg. Helm you can get a dex + crit for really cheap, pants dex only focus also really cheap. I strongly suggest going for asheara's lock boots as your first reasonable investment. They go for dirt cheap atm because it's one of the items with aspd bug, but if you look around a bit you can get movespd/aspd/dex/vita for under a mill.

Got my 100 DEX 15% AS Asheara's on US server for 35k so yeah, they're dirt cheap and a very good investment.
I would recommend getting a socketed weapon though, seems like a 950-ish DPS with a good emarald would perform better.
Then again I'm a complete crit damage% whore who abuses the crap out of SS atm.
Currently planning on going for a balanced cannon build, having decent enough survivability (Around 550 All Res by my estimate) while not giving up too much on DPS. Figured that if I keep Sharpshooter on I won't have to waste many equipment slots on crit chance. Archery and possibly Night Stalker for passives. Steady Aim and Tactical Advantage sacrificed since most of my strategy revolves around face tanking the boss while firing.
Hungering Arrow [Devour] Elemental Arrow [Nether] Shadow Power [Gloom] Preparation [Backup Plan / Battle Scars/ Focused Mind] Companion [Bat] Sentry [Guardian] (Swapped for Vault [Acrobatic] / Marked for Death [Mortal Enemy] when needed / allowed)
What do you guys think? It'll probably cost a lot of time to farm up, but it seems to me to be a pretty good end game target.

How in the hell do you beat Jailor Reflect Damage Oppresors In Act IV?
FFS 20 wipes to one dude. Not even counting his two buddies I seperated.

More deeps. Gotta kill em before they charge you.

ahahahah they nerfed sharpshooter again.
whenever you change zones it resets, when you change armor it resets, when you FUCKING MOVE YOUR ITEM IN YOUR STASH/INVENTORY TO ANOTHER SPOT IT RESETS.
blizzard devs+qa ftw.

Whats exactly the problem with that? I hardly ever do any of that while farming, and even if I did I could live with slightly lower dps for a pack or two. Or was there some exploit or something people used with it which I've missed?

I find DH's so much fun, tried other classes for a bit but they all are sooooo boring. Anyway with that being said I'd like to say a few things about our class. Firstly I REALLY don't like ppl playing DH's as glasscannon, I find it so cheap, spam dex and crit dmg on items and suddenly you have high DPS numbers. I saw some dude with 335k dps and 12k hp made me sad panda. Also Sharpshooter is a good passive, I don't understand ppl saying we have a better choice, we don't. It's not a great passive but def not terrible, compared to our other passives SS is really strong. I read some ppl saying crit chance is a must have, I have to disagree, crit chance is really not that good especially if you use SS and why wouldn't you use SS. Instead of crit chance I'd recommend more crit dmg or more dex. I don't know how I feel about atk speed, especially with the upcoming nerf to it, I have 2.05 atm and it feels just right. Overall as far as DPS goes imo dex and crit dmg are the main things you want to look for, after that some atk speed and if you get some crit chance without sacrificing dex and crit dmg I guess it won't hurt.

That's just one style of using spike trap and is hardly that much of a nerf at all. You can do that without switching gear so long as you don't just try to lure the 'whole map' (what's the point of that anyways the front monsters will set off the trap and the back ones won't get hit?) and instead do it piece by piece.
Yeah moving gear or buying stuff & having it reset is silly, but resetting on zone in doesn't seem like a big deal to me. Probably prevents some abuse at zone ins.

Wait. I just gave it more thought, does that mean all boss fights start with reset SS?

Crit chance is so good, I don't understand you saying it's not. You can't kill bosses and most elite mobs in 1 second, having a good base crit chance (30+%) shoots your real damage through the roof. You must know that sharpshooter is an artificial inflation of your actual damage output. Having low crit chance makes your high crit damage fairly worthless. It's better to have a balance between crit damage/chance if you have to choose. I find killing mobs and making my runs much faster now that I have higher crit chance.

It's just my opinion based on the hours I spent playing my DH. I love having big damage and I do have big damage, I dislike the glasscanon builds who mass dex ias and some crit dmg to have big dps numbers with 10-12k hp. About crit chance I guess it's a matter of taste, I don't like it and I think it should be on the botton of the priority to increase DPS list. If you are using sharpshooter you should not care about crit chance, you are going to crit a lot without it, if you are not using sharpshooter for some reason then crit chance becomes important but why would you not use sharpshooter, it's a no brainer, maybe for some situational fights you could remove it but if you plan on farming you should have it.

Sharpshooter crit chance rises pretty slowly. Can't wait for 5 seconds before i get a measly 20% critchance for the next shot. The sharpshooter is just a bonus, you still need to get some base crit chance. If you have decent critdamage with a socket and a crossbow with archery passive there is no way around crit chance in my opinion. It really boosted my dps.

Greetings fellow DH's, recently I've entered Inferno Act 3 (Up to Heart of Sin atm) but that's not important. I'm more or less just seeking advice on which parts of my gear I should upgrade first. I suffer from the "Make all the characters and level them all up first" syndrome so I don't have too much money to throw around so hence the advice on what I should upgrade first.
Most of the gear I have I either found, or just bought cheap on auction house. X-bow was 50k, amulet was 10k etc, etc. In any case link below to my current gear. If there's anything else relevant that's missing let me know.
Oh, I'm around 24k DPS w/o SS IIRC, so obviously getting a new weapon has crossed my mind but I haven't had too much trouble in advancing to this point. (Belial was a pain though...)
Anyway: Image Linky
