I am a bit happy with the change,
the SS/Prep/Bat/Marked for Death/Hunger/Multi shot build was stupid good with all of the runes.
Having that much invulnerability was way to powerful and kind of ruined the best part about our class which is playing tactical and microing like a fucking Korean Terran player. The games only a week old guys.
There will be other builds....

This is how I feel every time I successfully kite a mob of an illusion + invulnerable minion elite and 20 regular mobs.

Let me know if other numbers are helpful. I tend to try and DPS the crap out of things until I'm in the poop and then SS away. Finding it a little tricky without caltrops though, which is what I used for normal so I am used to them in the way I play.

Critting for 70k+ damage is a lot more important than being able to survive 2 hits instead of 1.

It's hilarious how true that statement is.
I wonder though, if you build somewhat tanky enough, whether you can replace Smokescreen with Shadow Power + Gloom and keep up a 65% damage reduction + 20% life leech for 30 seconds and make it viable.
Edit: I'm getting hit for about 50k from elites. With proper resists you can probably have 30% Resists * 65% Gloom so 50k hits turn into 12.5k and I would get 4-5 shot from 50k hp. Hmmm, nope that still sounds retarded.

No, 20% liefeleech is what in inferno? 3%? and 65% damage reduction is maybe helping to survive 1 attack from a normal insect swarm or whatever, but nothing more.

Twitch Smokescreen his AoE chain. It still takes me like 4-5 tries unless I get a lucky Dodge lol. Otherwise nothing should ever really be hitting you.
You can also try stacking +37k HP and just run to a health well every time you get nicked. You'll need more HP when playing with others.

What act is that? That 50k is already post-armor mitigation, so you have to look at the true damage. My guess is it'll still be around 3-4 hits MAX using 1H/shield. And this isn't including the affixes like desecrate/molten/arcane that kill you regardless of your stats.
Meanwhile you're doing probably 1/3 the dps, so that means even more chances for those guys to jail/wall/vortex/tp you into their aoe without you having enough disc to SS/gloom (or for the fun 200+ping people they'll just kill you mid-vortex before you can even activate an ability).

The dmg from chains varies. Sometimes I'll take a hit and survive, some times I'll die. It can definitely go for over 25k.

I guess I'll try turning my music off and listen very very carefully. edit: After dying a few more times - any chance you can describe the sound effect? I can't hear anything distinct.

He does it after he charges usually. Also when he chases you and he stops, he will cast it as well.
|
Predicting the chains of Butcher is pretty easy after some time and the animation is quite easy readable too, he does it after doing 2 other things (charge/hook) or after beeing out of range of you for a long time.
|
Does anyone have a post smoke screen nerf build that works.... Is it still not viable to go vita past act 2? I've been getting 1-2 shotted even at like 48k life and nowhere close to killing elite mobs. So i respected to 28k life and more damage.
I hear hungering arrow is best primary and nether tentacles are best secondary... but without ss and prep loop i just die before i can hit hard enough. Caltrops dont have enough aoe/ slow down ability vs faster monsters and tumble is basically the same run speed as fast creatures.
