I am a bit happy with the change,

the SS/Prep/Bat/Marked for Death/Hunger/Multi shot build was stupid good with all of the runes.

Having that much invulnerability was way to powerful and kind of ruined the best part about our class which is playing tactical and microing like a fucking Korean Terran player. The games only a week old guys.

There will be other builds....

Its these kind of stupid abilities that made inferno beaten in solo after a week, just like force armor or whatever its called (thank god thats nerfed aswell)

I just wish they made this earlier, like 7 days ago

Agreed. 20 seconds of invulnerability is just dumb.

I'm in Act 2 Hell and haven't really had any problems, just kite and kite then when they get close I invis and run to the other side, continue kiting.

Only really have a problem with vortex+fiery chains+fast.

Which elite mobs give you guys the most problems?

One of the AOE+extra health+reflects damage on something that's already highly mobile base mob. Like the stupid fucking lickers.

This is how I feel every time I successfully kite a mob of an illusion + invulnerable minion elite and 20 regular mobs.

Let me know if other numbers are helpful. I tend to try and DPS the crap out of things until I'm in the poop and then SS away. Finding it a little tricky without caltrops though, which is what I used for normal so I am used to them in the way I play.

Vit is okay, but with the cheap prices in the AH for resist gear, I think stacking resists appropriate to what you have trouble with is the most efficient way to solo.

Resists and vit are absolutely useless. There are barbs with full vit/allresist gears, 60k+ hp, 450+ all resists, that still get demolished. Nothing will stop elites/champs from 1-2 shotting you in inferno, so your best bet is to just do a crapload of damage.

Everyone inferno DH should just try and hit around 2k dex so that their base damage is at least 30k-40k.

Resists and Vit are not useless, not at all because you will do nothing if you are 1 shot every time at least playing solo.
You need big life pool like 30-40K and like 900+ resists or 1200+ in ACT 3 just as barbarian also needs.

Edit: It's hard to get the good items to do that but that is all about playing Inferno, you need incredibly good items( this means hard farming) and strong strategy and awesome coordinating team.

Edit: 900 resistance on level 60 monsters means spell absorbtion of 75% calculated = 900/(900+5*60) = resistance /(resistance + 5*monsterlvl) and 1200 resistance means 80% spell absorbtion.
As for armor to get 75% damage absorbtion an lvl 60 you need 9000 armor and for 80% absorbtion you need 12000 armor

Monsters in Act 1 are level 61, in Act 2 - 62 and in Acts 3 and 4 - 63. And each of those have Tier items that ONLY they drop - so a total of 3 Tiers in Inferno.

Quit theory crafting. You won't have anywhere near 900+ resists, 50k life, and enough dps to kill stuff. I'm guessing you've never been to inferno because as soon as any DH steps into act 2, they say fuck this shit and go 100% dex and power through it. Even after the SS nerf it is still quite easy to finish the acts as long as you skip unbeatable elites.

Critting for 70k+ damage is a lot more important than being able to survive 2 hits instead of 1.

It's hilarious how true that statement is.

I wonder though, if you build somewhat tanky enough, whether you can replace Smokescreen with Shadow Power + Gloom and keep up a 65% damage reduction + 20% life leech for 30 seconds and make it viable.

Edit: I'm getting hit for about 50k from elites. With proper resists you can probably have 30% Resists * 65% Gloom so 50k hits turn into 12.5k and I would get 4-5 shot from 50k hp. Hmmm, nope that still sounds retarded.

No, 20% liefeleech is what in inferno? 3%?
and 65% damage reduction is maybe helping to survive 1 attack from a normal insect swarm or whatever, but nothing more.

You only need about 25k hp to not get one shotted. He's relatively easy to beat since hooks, charges, and melees are easy to dodge. You just have to be fast with the smoke screen to not take damage from chains.

Twitch Smokescreen his AoE chain. It still takes me like 4-5 tries unless I get a lucky Dodge lol. Otherwise nothing should ever really be hitting you.

You can also try stacking +37k HP and just run to a health well every time you get nicked. You'll need more HP when playing with others.

What act is that? That 50k is already post-armor mitigation, so you have to look at the true damage. My guess is it'll still be around 3-4 hits MAX using 1H/shield. And this isn't including the affixes like desecrate/molten/arcane that kill you regardless of your stats.

Meanwhile you're doing probably 1/3 the dps, so that means even more chances for those guys to jail/wall/vortex/tp you into their aoe without you having enough disc to SS/gloom (or for the fun 200+ping people they'll just kill you mid-vortex before you can even activate an ability).

The dmg from chains varies. Sometimes I'll take a hit and survive, some times I'll die. It can definitely go for over 25k.

My main problem is that I can't seem to find a sign for chains coming. The hook has his little animation which makes it predictable.

Killed Butcher with a DH(me) wiz tank and barb dps. Took us a long time due to hitting enrage at 5% if someone died, we later got a smooth fight and brought him down quite easy, I had to stay out of vision whole fight unless I wanted to get oneshto by his 8 hooks he throws out

The wizard and I are doing Act 2 now and we killed Maghda and slowly are clearing the Sewers fun times :3

About that AOE hook - is there a way to see it coming? Every other major boss ability with the potential to 1-shot has some sort of warning, but that hook takes the whole room and is pretty unavoidable..only thing I could think to do was stand a screen and half away and spam hungering arrow into the dark =/

Maybe I'm just missing the visual cue?

The sound plays before he does it, our DH avoided it 100% of the time (with the stealth imunity) on all our farm runs

I guess I'll try turning my music off and listen very very carefully.
edit: After dying a few more times - any chance you can describe the sound effect? I can't hear anything distinct.

He does it after he charges usually. Also when he chases you and he stops, he will cast it as well.

Predicting the chains of Butcher is pretty easy after some time and the animation is quite easy readable too, he does it after doing 2 other things (charge/hook) or after beeing out of range of you for a long time.

Does anyone have a post smoke screen nerf build that works.... Is it still not viable to go vita past act 2? I've been getting 1-2 shotted even at like 48k life and nowhere close to killing elite mobs. So i respected to 28k life and more damage.

I hear hungering arrow is best primary and nether tentacles are best secondary... but without ss and prep loop i just die before i can hit hard enough. Caltrops dont have enough aoe/ slow down ability vs faster monsters and tumble is basically the same run speed as fast creatures.
