-the game forces us to value everything and pick up everything, i.e grind such that every blue we must pick up and not ignore but to salvage. the notion of chores and your effort will be rewarded. - cannot be insanely strong vs monsters due to new secondary resource mechanic. in diablo 2 we had jumps from several hundred mana to thousands. -will we see a thousand arcane power/spirit/fury? most likely not even at max levels/gear. spamming secondaries is out of the game. for Diablo 2 you started weak casting only several hammers to hundreds of hammers with exponentially increased mana pool. -blizzard is greedy and therefore wants everything contained within their paramters and induce a large number of players to use Auction house. | ||

Game seems to be well made, thats basically all i can say after 3h of playing with one class. But new skill system seems to be out of place, why would they change such important aspect of the game which has worked so nicely in D2~Runes of course give you some choice but i am not a fan of this solution, compared to what everyone has and loves in D2. | ||

like said before, atleast d2 had synergies to add some critical choice in doing builds and where to allocate pts. d3 system has no skill leveling, no synergies; spell effectiveness relies entirely on your weapons dmg. what this means is, unless theres something im completely missing, players will just pick whatever skill gives the most weapon dmg %. d3 system will even more cookie cutter than d2. someone please correct me if im wrong. http://www.diablowiki.net/Wizard_skill | ||

It goes fairly in depth about how character customization is more advanced, complex, and customizable in D3 than it was in D2. Just because they threw out how you did it in D2, doesn't mean it does not exist in D3. Main factor is the gems which, when maxed out, give you more stat allocation than 1-99 gave you in D2. And yes, I guess there will be a mathematically strongest build in D3 just like there was in D2, but I'm hoping that Inferno will force a balance between damage output and survivability. | ||
