Not neccesarily. There are many expos on BW maps that have minerals only. I think the point is so it is a toss up between more minerals or some minerals and more gas when expanding. Suddenly it is a tactical choice instead of a rush for the gold.

Close position (ground) Meta really needs to be written out, like the ones on Shakuras. Wonder which of the "mystery maps" is gonna be the one pulled?

I think Meta is a very good map but the close position suffers due to short rush distance and no viable third. I think instead of taking it out of the pool or something drastic, the best thing to do is for some map maker to enhance meta by stretching the middle area and converting the expansion in the bottom and top middle into two expansions. This will increase the rush distance between the bases and provide for a third which will be about as hard to take as the second is right now.Another enhancement that can be done is increasing distances between the close by air bases and adding an island expansion on each side. I think these might change how this map plays enough to make it good in all positions. I would do it but I lack the editor skills to make these changes . Not sure what can be done to LT though. Maybe edit it such that only cross position and close by air spawns are possible ?

About the Crossfire SE map, can someone point out any other changes besides the main's ramp to the natural being smaller? (now the size of any ramp on a standard map like LT, instead of 1 size larger in Blizz's)

These are the changes I know:
-Main's ramp made 1x standard size -3o'clock and 9o'clock expansions smaller -middle side paths smaller (to expos) -primary ramp to center high ground widened (1side, the original was asymmetrical) -doodad trees added in unpathable areas

They replace them with huge maps which not a single one of them as a cliff at its natrual. But they decide to keep Shakuras and Scrap station? xD wow.. Terran just isn't meant to be a choice anymore it seems ^^

January's semis are TTTP and the Code A finals are TvT.

Yeah, I wouldn't mind one or two small maps thrown in. Though in BW (in big maps), even big maps had 5 minute cheeses and all-ins (Shield Battery rush, proxy barracks, etc) so even if all the maps were big, there can still be plenty of variety.
