But they decide to keep Shakuras and Scrap station? xD wow.. Terran just isn't meant to be a choice anymore it seems ^^ This post will give a few people brain damage.
I saw his terrible posts on the official Blizz forums and I hoped he wouldn't be able to make his way here. More macro based maps will make the game better and it's annoying having balance whiners on this thread. Especially ones who type like a young teen.
It might be because of all the empty spaces on the edges playing tricks on my eyes, but the three bases on each set look too close to each other. There seems to be virtually no chance for both players to split the third player's expansions.

Still sucks that with LT and Metalopolis the randomness of spawn positions is such a huge factor in deciding the game. Actually close positions on these maps is worse than some of the maps they have eliminated. Thats why I am wondering: why keep these close spawn positions? They could easily change the maps so that similarly to Shakuras only cross spawns or close air spawns on LT and metalopolis are possible. That would make these maps so much better and would take away much of the randomness.

Merry-Go-Round and Updated Versions of Terminus and Altar are on Eu and should be shortly on the other servers as well.

New map added
Gettysburg

The rocks at the nat are pretty interesting, also there is no really safe third, I could see myself rather taking the gold right away in PvT

they should announce the change soon shouldn't they? since new season is coming up quickly

Uploaded Merry-Go-Round + 2 other updated maps to SEA.
Is there meant to be a supply depot at the end of the ramp? :O

yeah. it's a lowered neutral supply depot, so basically all it does is block players from walling off the bottom of ramps, for zergs who get bunkered/pylon'd in
I like it..really smart way to deal with an annoying problem. i just wish it would become a standard on other maps, but we know that would never happen

I'm curious if they ever mentioned that the new maps will be in force immediately in GSL 5. I would presume that they have to delay it for another session for the players to adjust and adapt to the new map pool (since this isn't the Blizzard map pool).

Will be announced soon(not blizzard's soon™)

Thank you so much for keeping this updated man! Time to test the new maps aswell

god these maps are massive. i sincerely hope sc2 doesnt turn into whoever can macro better wins.

WniO, I agree with you in that I hope SC2 doesn't become only 'keep your money low and just keep taking bases and you will win' and we should keep an eye out to make sure maps don't get too large. I worry that SC2 was designed entirely using the maps we currently see from blizzard, and that these considerably larger maps may have unexpected consequences.
However, I also think that generally - people enjoy larger scale games more than smaller ones, as evidenced by the many posts requesting larger maps, and the polls I've seen here on TL. I believe that strategic positioning, multitasking, well planned drops/harassment, taking advantage of all a given race's mobility (Nydus worms, and Mothership recall) rather than extremely difficult to stop all-in one to two base timing pushes will become much more the norm due to larger maps because of a greater 'defenders advantage'. Surprise will become less of a factor due to rush distances granting a lot more reaction time, and the oft difficult to take but necessary third base for Zerg will become much easier to take.
We'll have to wait and see . I for one am certainly excited to see so many new maps simply for sheer variety, and can't wait to buy next month's ticket!

Just watched a long macro TvZ on Crevasse...was awesome. Definitely reminiscent of BW.

Ok, so by now they should be announcing something, as the january season is coming to an end. Does someone have information if these maps are going to be implemented this season, or if something has been said at the korean community?
