Great that this is confirmed now, some of the maps that were used by Gisado were pretty baller. Mostly large maps in comparison, some of them questionable balance wise, but it looks like people are welcoming any change at this stage, with the amount of criticism/negativity around the current mappool.

I really hope the fourth map is Jungle Basin.

Great to hear this, I'm hoping for iCCup maps but I'm fine with any other quality map made by the community and not Blizzard...

Oh man, this is huge. I really hope this means community maps and not just other Blizzard maps, but either way, great news. Hopefully, if the new maps receive good feedback, Blizzard will consider mirroring the changes to the ladder too.

Edit: Major props to GOM for this as well btw. They get a LOT of crap, but they're definately the ones breaking the new ground for us all atm.

I also hope they modify the current maps, shakuras is good, but the backdoor sucks.
LT could say, only enable cross spawning and change the ledge.
Also change Metalopolis to only cross spawning.

Wondering what the 4th map will be, jungle basin is horrible, but scrap station also.

Still good that finally something is done.
But it will take a while until the next GSL. : /

Steppes, Scrap Station, Delta, Blistering, Jungle Basin and even LT should just go away. Replacing even some of these maps, though, is huge news. Can't wait to see the new ones and I really hope Blizz decides to change the official ladder map pool. Only good things are sure to come if that's the case

EDIT: Just saw the maps. They look promising and fun. Can't wait to test them. Too bad the first two in OPs post are not for download.
