I can't believe that the reaper will be useless. People will adapt and learn how to actually use it instead of blindly rushing for it to crush some zerg. Its a vary map specific unit really, that might explain why people find them useless. But can anyone argue that 50/50 is worse than 400 minerals when scouting your opponents base? Or the scan you need to stop dt's or banshees or burrowed roaches? The reaper will not be useless, but it will be much more like the observer. Until of course people remember it can be an extremely cost efficient harass at any point during the game if used well.

Assuming they buff roach range by 1 and thats all, will it be able to deal with pylon blocking without the cannon from being able to hit it?

I don't see the basis behind the hellion complaints.. Blue flame hellion drop/runbye are still a HUGE concern to the zerg player.

You honestly think a zerg will just make nothing but drones now because of a +1 roach range? Hellions already run by roaches/spines/queens and just roast drones...

Everyone is very quick to make huge sweeping assumptions, think about the openings the zerg has to be worried about before he mindlessly makes drones. +1 roach range does not negate any of those potential insta-losses.

True....FE builds are the norm in BW now but no one complains. Most people agreed that cheese is currently too strong in this game and this patch is making cheese a little weaker. Don't see how that's a negative. Rax first cheese is boring to play against and even more boring to watch. The fact that its out of the game doesn't bother me at all. The only thing that concerns be about the patch is how roach range will affect PvZ early game.

oh my gosh.... That's a lot of zerg buffs. That's great cuz I'm zerg, but I'm not used to being on, dare I say it, fair ground... Hopefully they keep at least a few of these buffs, I like the zerg building hp increase and roach range is great too.

Nobody has a problem killing roaches straight-up lategame, the problem is that there's no way to stop roach pressure now besides very early marauders. You won't be able to kite them to your base and all terran builds will have to be adjusted to have early marauders.


You mean the all-mighty Terran might actually have to react properly to the zerg builds, and can't just do whatever the hell they want without fearing any sort of attack? What is this crazy talk.

Huh? Which one of those builds do you counter by going rax first? What terran goes out and scouts before depot so they can tell if they should go rax first? All 3 of those cheeses can be held off with depot first.

Meh to the extra roach range, I'd rather have had roach -1 supply than +1 roach range but I'll take it

Crappy 1200 Zerg player's opinion:
  • Roach range and zerg building health is good. Honestly I've learned to love roaches again, I'm not sure it was necessary.
  • Depot before rax is pretty stupid, as super early pressure was never really a game breaking concern for me.
  • Factory before nitro packs makes reapers basically useless, and I would much rather have conc shells require factory


But let me tell you, these terran tears, oh my god are they delicious.

Everyone agreed that zerg needed a buff. When actuall changes comes, people start to whine. I think pretty much anything could have been buffed and people would still be outraged.

Reaper is dead. Ok that removes one of 10 openings.
10 rax is dead. Ok that removes two of 10 opening.

So? EVERYONE agreed that terran had too many openings and thats what made them so friggin good.

Roach range is a much needed buff to make something before muta counter mass helllions. You can basicly make only hellions+expand and be safe against anything zerg can do. In addition you allmost allways burn a ton of drones with em aswell.
