No idea if he is playing but he posted on x he is looking for a team. If I had to guess - if he can find a sponsor he will compete? Not really too sure. I would have expected to see him laddering or competing in weekly cups by now. https://x.com/SC2sOs/status/1913266604693188887

Taking down video gamers money is probably not big on the governments priority list.

They had to compete as "Outsiders" (which was hilariously childish btw, going with a crossed-out VP-logo and what not) in Counterstrike and DotA2 because of sanctions. Dunno exactly why they were specifically sanctioned, had something to do with their owner if I recall. But they have been using the Virtus.Pro name for some time now, having changed their structure/ownership, so they are no longer in the direct crossfire of sanctions. As a general rule of thumb: Except for Riot, the war does not influence Esports much anymore. There are no big tournaments in Russia as far as I know, but beyond that it is pretty much a non-issue - if that is a good thing or not is of course an entirely different debate I wouldn't indulge here.

Virtus pro, EWC, havent done anything wrong.

It's always easy to finger point while forgetting to put the money where the morals are. If the "healthier" foundation means no foundation at all, I guess I know where the priorities are. EDIT : also virtus.pro might have originated from Russia, but the organization itself has become international enough that lazy jibe is invalid. Shouldn’t be too naive In addition to this, we also have the US Air Force sponsoring IEM and ESL. I love how the Internet gets up in arms about Saudi Arabia, but it's fine for the US military to be a major sponsor and advertising to young adults to join the army and kill people. E-Sports is sustained by big corporations doing shady things. There's nothing we can do about it.
