Warcraft 2 needs your help

As many of you know, Warcraft 2 has recently been remastered. Unfortunately it hasn't received the love that starcraft received.

Currently the playerbase is split between remastered (newer players) and war2combat (old school players)

I began playing Warcraft 2 online competitive multiplayer in 1996. Since then I've been a C level iccup bw player and a 9 time master league SC2 player. But my passion has always been with this game.

I recently built a youtube channel for commentary for high level warcraft 2 games. I've spent the last 6 weeks of my life working on this and building a community website that I plan on launching in the next month.

Here's the deal - right now blizzard has left this game completely broken with no multiplayer features. The one that really irks me is that they've removed 'random location' for player position as they have sabotaged the game completely.

I made this video addressing the issue (skip to the end - see time stamps)

I'm just trying to save a game that I have loved for 30 years. Our community is small and we're being abused and destroyed by the creators of the game.

Please help

Damn, a WarCraft remaster unintentionally messing up multiplayer? If I had a dime for every time this happened... ...well you guys know the joke.

Hopefully the War2 scene can create enough PR/awareness that it gets addressed.

Oh wow, welcome to TL! I've seen War2Combat posting here about the competitive War2 scene, but they haven't been around in forever, so I'm glad I now know of you and War2 is still kicking !

I feel a more concise video would help your cause get attention on social media. Like, a talking head video would be adequate or even better, an edited video where you show people visually what the problem is. This is unfortunately not an uncommon problem with Blizzard RTSes, unfortunately. I know for a while for Remastered there was a schism with Shieldbattery/ICCUP and other versions of Starcraft.

I know you need the game to function but the new blood is the new shiny version that is far more accessible.

Hey! I’ve been following u8’s stream to chill for years now and I appreciate you putting in the effort to cast games / bring attention to this game (which really holds up super well IMO). I followed/subscribed. One thing though, when meaningful things happen in the games you cast, pleeeease don’t do the screen shake. It’s so jarring and uncomfortable to watch. I’d much prefer just a zoom in and zoom back out; accomplishes the same thing of orienting the viewers focus without being so…jarring.

Did the new patch for human actually make a difference? Is the balance better now or still orc bloodlust only?

Mostly good changes but they needed to go even further with bloodlust nerf, wouldn't change orc dominance.Plus they reduced range of blizzard so a human nerf there.

This was also my first thought.
1) Make a short, to-the-point video that makes the cause sufficiently clear to anyone with a basic interest in fixing a beloved albeit old and under-the-radar game. It should stress more the frustration and urgency rather than the rage. ("Blizzard's remaster broke WC2 multiplayer and here's why and how to fix it")

My second thought was:
2) Try to somehow get Grubby's attention for it at some point, as WC2 is an old love of his, and hope for a) him making a reaction-video about it or directly adressing the issue to Blizzard at some appropriate opportunity or, if he's not up for that, at least b) your issue getting some traction in his and the wider WC3-community. There should already be some personal overlap between those who play WC2 and watch his stream and sympathy vice versa.

Or maybe just one game for fun or one series with two players who are interested. Then he could drop a comment about the MP situation. Something like that. Would bring more attention than anything I could imagine.
