So apparently you can cheese out Jaina's first transition by just waiting on the boat.
https://www.twitch.tv/videos/398838554?t=00h53m11s
They rotate half the raid into blocks, twice each, and after a while, Jaina just stops channeling the transition, her images despawn, and you can go into phase 2.
First of all, this is hilarious, second, who the hell managed to convicne their guild to try it out.

Apparently bans went out for the xp pot thing as well.
Some people were getting banned mid pull of mythic prog lol. People are stating its anywhere from 2 to 31 day bans.

I think either way is fine.

1st weekend of the MDI west. Lol at the comps.
Literally every comp for first day is Night elf race, Prot warrior, resto druid, double rogue, 5th dps (mainly WW monk). Maybe blizzard will finally look at fixing their classes or its going to be 6 weeks of pretty boring MDI stuff.

Honestly I think the mdi format is more the problem than class balance. (Which is awful still obv) cuz as long as mdi is about zerging midrange keys class stacking will be a problem cuz ‘someone’ is always gonna be the ‘best’ aoe dps and ‘best’ tank.
I feel if it was about pushing very high keys it would be a lot better. I’m quite confident that if every one of these keys was a 24 we’d see a bit more variety. (Obv still shitloads of prot war and rogues) Also I personally think it’s be more entertaining and educational. I also don’t buy the argument that viewership is better on race content than ‘progression’ type content. No one is wants to watch method kill heroic in one hour they want to watch 200 wipes on Jaina. /shrug
Ofc id appreciate some balancing also and mdi always exacerbates the lfg problems in live where people just want fotm shit.
Or maybe like a mix of speed and push keys. That’d be sick.

I think it goes both ways.
Pushing high keys come with its own problems, such as can a team even finish? At the 23/24 levels everyone is failing a significant portion of the time and its hard to say who won a key if both teams fail to finish due to how insane those keys can get. Imagine KR 24 tyrannical, people ticking from spit gold for 220k. As much as it is cool to see someone actually clear that, its highly unlikely you will be able to do a tournament in a decent time. Also I think tomorrow will be higher keys (like 19/20 instead of 18).
The main part though is that there is no other class that compares to whats being picked in the current groups. It wouldn't be bad if you had some other specs pulling 40k across the dungeons, but no one is except rogues. On top of then bringing great survivability, shroud, and utility. Also warriors literally doing upwards of 2-4x the damage of other tanks in big aoe packs. Averaging 20k+ dps in a key when the rest of the tanks are only pulling 12-15k at best is pretty broken.
So it makes sense to do mid high keys to get them done, but when classes are so far out of whack like this it makes for pretty unfun to watch.

yeh Prot warriors and outlaw are busted. No argument. Other classes can compete with outlaw on overall dmg tbh but the combination of utility/interrupts/stops/dmg is just unmatched.
But strictly speaking if prot warriors got nerfed to the ground. Then some other tank (presumably dk) would be best overall again and it’s all we’d see. Like last few mdi. Similarly nerf rogues a bit and there would only be one. But you’d legit just see 2ww then a lot of the time. Lol
And a lot of these high m+ guys say the lack of ranged is primarily due to the simple fact of how many less interrupt you have for these large pulls.
It’s kind of just inherent in the format. /shrug

I was hoping to see Demo lock at MDI but i guess that last round of nerfs killed that dream. They could do some really batshit numbers pre explosive potential nerf, though in warlocks case its still so much better than aff/destro no reason to play anything but demo in m+

I seem to remember during Legion that one of the last MDI's had high keys were some teams were just wiping over and over and I also remember chat being really salty (but that's chat) about it and viewership being lower.

Yeah ofc there is personal preference and that is largely my opinion. I'm an lfg hero 1700io score player who doesnt have a premade team at all, only qs even 15s with randoms (none of my friends are remotely qualified) and personally I prefer watching higher keys and think its more entertaining. I don't mind watching people wipe.
That said my original comment was pretty much that if you want to see class diversity you should push for higher keys where the finer aspects of knowing ones class matter more. Because in a race scenario on mid tier keys there is always gonna be an optimal class/group composition.I still watched most of todays broadcast, enjoyed it, and will watch tomorrows. However personally, that is because I have watched many of these players stream high level push keys on live and have "fan attachments". If not for that tbh I think it would be fairly boring.
Theoretically there is some balance of the two maybe, but I also think that people complaining about the lack of class diversity are a bit unrealistic. Even if balance was closer in a tournament setting with money on the line people are going to play the 'best'. (there will always be a 'best' tank for a dungeon period, without changes one rogue at least will almost always be optimal, we will never see zero battle res comps, etc.)
One solution to this is to make people play with their live characters but then you lose all pretense of a 'fair and balanced' competition. Might be better for viewership though? It would make it into more of a long term grind thats for sure. /shrug

I agree with most of this, but it would be cool to see things closer in terms of what is 'best'. Rentari yesterday ran with DK in Kings Rest to use control UD, but even that was a massive dps loss compared to warrior. This resulted in them losing unsurprisingly. For healers Cirra used his hpal for underrot 1 time, and they only won because the other team full team wiped on 3rd boss, and when they did wipe Cirra's team was pretty behind already so the hpal didn't give them any specific advantage.
If I didn't know/play with some of the people in the tourney I would probably not watch nearly as much as I have. I just hope blizz takes the info from this and try to make it so you have at least a little choice in way of having options outside of the current set teams.

Holiday update scares me, isn't brewfest September time? That means the last dungeon raid isn't going to be released until closer to the end of the year meaning probably no expansion announcement at blizzcon?

The new azerite system looked like a dumbed down version of artifact weapons.

everything about 8.2 sounds better than what we currently have.

To be fair it's actually good design and working as intended. All full physical damage buffs in the group. Prot warriors are outlaw have already been confirmed to get nerfs.
Prot warrs are really the only thing that outright need a nerf at the moment. Can probably expect a shroud exhaustion type debuff soon.
There is always going to be a cookie cutter setup for any given dungeon.
Everything else just needs minor buffs to catch up to DPS. Hopefully Blood DK's get either a significant damage buff or veteran of the third war revert. They're fighting for the bottom tank and it's mainly because their damage is awful.

Nah, I think its just in preparation for Brewfest. I'd imagine this coming out around June/July. Probably release around the same time as the FFXIV expansion. Which is unfortunate because that might get really close to Classic for people
