I should have said artifact instead of legion.. brain being lazy. | ||

Enormous exp requirement reductions there. exp reductions from level 20 leading up to a 1.33 - 1.67x exp requirement reduction on the 36 to 110 range, peaking in the low 60's. | ||

 Also got to try some sub Rogue pulls on M Zul Tuesday night. Nothing feels as good as the opener on this fight. It’s downright dirty imo. Easiest rotation to pull off as well. Our 2 alt rogues were even pulling close to 30k and they’re like 355-360. | ||

If I ever wanted a new class it's either going through RAF (if that still exists?), a new account or simply a 60€ character boost. I just really enjoy the end game, not so much anything before that. EDIT: It is no coincidence I only ever played WoTLK end game because that was the first expansion that let me skip a majority of the levelling part and get straight into that sweet end game action (DKs were introduced, started at 58). | ||

I opted out of raiding M uldir for time reasons, at least initially, but that turned into not doing it at all. This reset and last reset i'm pretty much just logging in to hit the weekly chest and maybe soon not at all. A big part of the driving force for that is that a majority of my friends have quit - most of my friends list has either gone dark or rerolled to horde, including a lot of my main dungeon friends and ex-guildies from Legion so it turned into pugging almost everything. My friends list is down to a quarter or so of what it was despite adding people to it. Class design has also been a big issue with my favorite classes regressing off of previous expansions (Havoc dungeons are a shadow of its 7.1.5 - 7.3.5 Legion gameplay and let's not talk about Marksmanship) but that part should get better in the 8.1 to 8.2 timeframe. Unfortunately there's an extended history of classes being maintained to poor standards. Consistently understaffed and poor quality customer support is on the short list as well and is probably the biggest problem overall as it shows no signs of improving or being understood by the company as being a problem at all. This has personally affected me multiple times and several friends in BFA and also in Legion before that, it was mediocre but not so awful in WOD but i haven't seen truly satisfactory customer support (and not talking excellent here, just satisfactory) since patch 4.1. No live chat, 24 hour wait times to get a reply to each message, they don't understand and/or can't fix the problem with their game when they do reply and you can't even speak to the same GM for 2 messages in a row because a different one responds one time at 9am every day. Not sure when or if i'l enjoy playing again enough to commit to maintaining cutting edge gear. It's been nice at least being more free, taking up gym + chill + social events instead. | ||

That having been said Ive started having some technical issues that are game breaking for me in terms of grouping with people cross server on US Central or east realms but then me being the only one in the grp getting routed to OC realms and sitting at 300 ping with a home ping of 18 or 20. Its only been happening the last 2 weeks but it really makes the game play experience aweful. Ive done all the things I need to in terms of reporting and resolving it on my end but I dont think that any of the fixes I have tried are for the problem I am having so the experience has been very poor there. Alot of the dungeon bugs are still there and when there is limited playtime not making a timer on a high key due to issues like mobs getting pulled through walls, or getting knocked through the floor to the lower tier and pulling everything to you on the way etc is a bit of a copout. Till the ping issue I was quite enjoying the game as a pretty much solo M+ and then doing lower dungeons with friends for shits and giggles because they arent particularly serious or skilled player. That my class is not a particularly popular M+ pick can be frustrating at times + Show Spoiler + (people at 14-15 only want DH/Rogue or some kind of ranged with roots/sooth/Hero and my utility doesnt quite match the ones those classes provide even though it is pretty good. I feel like if I was one of those classes I would have a more efficient experience | ||

I'm jealous To be honest I'm loving WoW right now but I tend to attribute that to the fact that I haven't really played extensively since Cata, and even then I wasn't playing anywhere near as much as I am now. I can see people who have played every expansion and also no longer have any specific goals feeling really burnt out. For me there's still a ton of things to do, plus I have specific goals that motivate me like achieving CE, getting into a good guild, grinding M+, etc. | ||

And raiding definitely isn't enough to carry a wow expansion for me. I hate pugging M+ so when my friends quit it kills/slows down yet another huge part of the game that i enjoy. | ||

I enjoy raiding, doing so in 25 man communities or in PUG's have both been pretty shit because of the social side. It's been too hard to find 25 people that aren't assholes and don't tolerate assholes. I found some guys to walk through heroic with in less than 90 mins each reset but that wasn't very fulfilling either, it was just a chore to stay relevant for content that i wasn't actually doing for above reasons. I actually went out and played a couple of other games for way more time than i put into WoW recently and it still feels really free - being able to play 0 hours one day, 10 the next or play at 3am, walk away at any time, make or change plans on short notice whenever without being penalized. There's some stuff that i could play for 50hrs and feel less pressure than playing WoW for 20. Given that amount of time/schedule pressure you have to actually enjoy the game a lot to make it worth it IMO and BFA wasn't there for me. | ||

You dont have to feel pressure to do things. Unless you want something from it specifically that would put pressure on you. And I am pretty sure if you want to achieve any things at the same level as you want to in wow from other games you will feel the same pressure. | ||

Thats you feeling pressure though. You dont have to feel pressure to do things. You do if you want to do them well, like an hour of playing at X time is worth twice as much as an hour of playing at Y time. That's time pressure to ensure that you're playing at X time and plan the rest of your life around it. WoW is the most demanding game that i can name in terms of schedule pressure, not just the amount of hours per week but the way that you MUST do things at certain times otherwise you won't be able to do them properly. Investing 25 or 50 hours a week isn't enough, if you do it at the wrong times of day and spread it out wrongly throughout the week and month then your character progression will go to shit and you're completely wasting your time compared to somebody else that plays a lot less (at the right hours) to accomplish similar things. And if you don't do them properly.. now you're behind and everybody else has advantages over you. Most of the content is built this way - mission tables to WQ's with despawns ranging from a few hours to 24 hours and spawn times ranging across the day and night, m+ where groups are primarily active at EU day-shift peak times and on the right affixes, M raids which lock you into playing at consistent times of day and consistent days, 3-7 day cycles on some other misc stuff which are totally reasonable in isolation but adding to the list of time stressors. --- WoW is one of those games where trying to M raid on a schedule, do m+ regularly and keep up on gear/rep and general stuff completely shut down the rest of my life because i just couldn't plan around the particular type of hours that it demanded even though the amount of hours itself was doable without too much trouble. There are some others where i can play 50 hours out of a 178 hour window and don't have to cancel, reschedule or mould any other activities - i just play and walk away whenever, for however long and as often as i want knowing that i can log in at some other point and i haven't lost anything of huge importance as long as the amount of hours per month is unchanged. In some games you can drop them at 3am or 3pm on consecutive days and it doesn't really matter at all, at least for many of the important activities in them. Several of the games that i'm thinking of there partially accomplish that by having worldwide playerbases - i play with both EU and US folks regularly in those games but in WoW i'm forced to conform to EU day-shift peak times for most of the relevant gameplay or go home basically. There are some good reasons to structure a game like this (although i think it's taken to a ridiculous extreme at times) but one of the main downsides is that it makes it a nightmare of a game if you're not getting much out of it. If you're framing a large portion of your life around a hobby then it has to be highly enjoyable to really justify that! | ||
