So who saw the Cardinals as the only team to outscore the Patriots over the first 3 games? If I had to guess before the season, I'd say they would reach 126 points by week 7-8. The Bills are in third place led by noted offensive juggernaut Tyrod Taylor.
And I'm going to win in fantasy this week because of Devonta Freeman. Such is life in a 2 QB league with Brees and Romo. Even my kicker got food poisoning. Base on the pure luck, someone was going to outscore the Patriots over three game and by sure luck, that someone was also going to be very very surprising. Arizona has been the beneficiary of being excellent passing team and playing three terrible pass defenses. Chicago, New Orleans, San Francisco, are surely among the 8 worst pass defenses in the league. Two other member of this club are Atlanta and Oakland. I think Miami just might fall into this group of ignomy, as well. Arizona dominating these bad teams is very impressive, and those two Colin Kaepernick gifts sure helped them outscore the Patriots. This is the best start in Patriots team history in terms of points scored over the first three games. This is not the regular kind of luck that happens every season but more of a once in a generation fluke. Yeah, the sample size is small but Arizona's start is the second best in league history and most people did not expect them to be an offensive juggernaut. Only the 2013 Broncos had a better start, by 1 point. The DST tds helped, sure, but remove those and the performance is still impressive considering the team involved.
Points per game is at a generational high in recent years. With all the rule changes certain records will never be challenged again and other records might just dime a dozen. The whole record pace can only be put into perspective if we look back on it in a few years.
But that isn't to say that Arizona isn't a great team. When you can blow out teams, even bad ones, by three, four, five touchdowns, that's not something an ordinary good team does.

Imagine that The should just clone 100 Keith Jacksons and make them call every football game henceforth.

+ Show Spoiler +I do think we'll bounce back, but this brutal starting schedule and lack of production is putting us in a BAD hole.

So who beats the pats in the regular season? I'm not buying the current 19-0 predictions that are flowing across the NEosphere, and I think they lose minimum of one regular season game. So who stops the comedy revenge tour that they're currently running on the league? If anyone outside of the division does it, its gotta be Denver short of a trap game that the pats never seem to fall into. If they get past Denver and trap games I figure no way they don't lose one of the last two divisional games due to resting as many starters as they can get away with if nothing else. Bills are always tough for them as well. Man their schedule is weaker than I thought.

Denver probably best shot mid season. Maybe Dolphins at the end of the year when the pats are resting all their starters with the bye week wrapped up. They did lose to Buffalo in the last week last year. It would also require the Dolphins to get their shit together though

Yeah the Pats are basically favoured against anyone, but randomass upsets do happen so eh.

The Pats do have the chance to go 18-1 again. The NFC East is also shitty enough for the Giants to do another stupid fluke run.

Peyton might not get blown up much considering by week 7 it will be too cold for the old man to feel his fingers so they will just run every play. Which means they will gain like 40 yards total each game... but whatever their defense is running the show now apparently.

It was a dumb thing to begin with

After Brady took them to the cleaners in court, there's no way the NFL is going to fuck with a ref whose day job is running his own law firm.

I'm here with you, brotha! I'm normally top 5 most optimistic Lions fan in Michigan headed into the new season, but as soon as that schedule dropped I told everyone they were starting 1-5, or 1-4 with a possible win vs SD. They aren't proving me wrong, but I thought they would look a helluva lot better than they have been. I was really thinking they had a shot at like 9-7 or 10-6, but having seen them play 3 games I think 5-11 is way more realistic.

Any non-delusional fan knew this season wasn't going anywhere even before it started. With the rebuild, this season will be a complete shit-show, but holding on to these guys is just asking for mediocrity. Going 4-12 or 8-8 (if extremely lucky) isn't what a Bears fan is looking for. We're looking for a contender. By shedding the weight now and getting some picks, we're looking at being a contender in 2-4 years if the GM and Coach can draft and coach up players.
Unfortunately, it probably means that next year will be mediocre, but at least it will be a mediocre year with players that are too young and will get better. That's the type of mediocrity I can tolerate for a year or two.
