It's a great way to deal with some obvnoxious players, who want to pick their own hero/lane in every game no matter what, think their whole team is always full of noobs, disregarding other people's choices.

In LoL, it's written in the rules of Code of Conduct that the preference goes by pick order, which is ordered by elo. Otherwise you can get reported. Overall, everyone has a 1/5 chance of being first pick and 1/5 chance of being last pick, it's a very fair system. Riot embraced the communities way of dealing with with picking roles, not the other way around. It didn't have anything to do with MMR or ELO from the release that Riot put out embracing the idea of pick order. It was just way to solve a social conflict easily and that seemed fair. I don't think it has anything to do with ELO and since all the players around the same skill level, it shouldn't matter.

That only exists in Ranked game though. It's because ranked game in LoL is captain mode. In Blinded Pick, it's still pretty much wild like Dota and only rely on call order and good faith.

Huh? Someone calls mid/picks a mid hero and if your team is not retarded they accept it and everything's fine. Even if people pick a mid hero at the same time or someone gets a mid hero random when someone else already has a mid hero it's rarely a big deal. I haven't had any issues such as mid or feed guys or dual mid in quite a while.

I thought you meant if the team is retarded but the mid player is, it's easy for even an idiot to snowball from being fed mid.

Back when ratings were public Topson seemed to be the highest rated player. Of course any one of these things can have changed since then.

If you create a system with random order, and force people to follow it, players are more likely not to agree with the rules and do their own thing. Don't simply assume the willingness of a person to follow certain rules.

I know FATA had 6.2k at some point which is what Topson had as well iirc. I also heard XBOCT has 6.2k from a friend.

I played vs XBOCT back when ratings were public and I don't think his rating was that high.

If certain rules are in conflict with the purpose of the game, then yes, its legitimate to not follow the rules A game is played to have fun, if a forced rule gives me less pleasure then before the update i will just do my own thing trying to ingore the new rules, if they punish me for it, i will just stop playing, i dont care about not playing a game with certain rules i dont like to follow because it gives me less pleasure. Your statement seems valid.
