Please keep the QQ to a minimum if you do not like this update. We are happy to hear your reasoning for not liking a ranked system, but no "OMG VOLVO WHY" posts.

In dota, if 5 people want mid, how do you resolve this dispute? In LoL, it's written in the rules of Code of Conduct that the preference goes by pick order, which is ordered by elo. Otherwise you can get reported. Overall, everyone has a 1/5 chance of being first pick and 1/5 chance of being last pick, it's a very fair system.

It's a great way to deal with some obvnoxious players, who want to pick their own hero/lane in every game no matter what, think their whole team is always full of noobs, disregarding other people's choices.

Riot embraced the communities way of dealing with with picking roles, not the other way around. It didn't have anything to do with MMR or ELO from the release that Riot put out embracing the idea of pick order. It was just way to solve a social conflict easily and that seemed fair. I don't think it has anything to do with ELO and since all the players around the same skill level, it shouldn't matter.

you simply either concede the dispute or say "mid or feed" in the picking phase.

This route also works. I mostly just say "I will be your support for this game. On the menu we have wards and stuns." At the end of the day, the ability to concede to your team mate and just go with the flow is all part of the game.

If your team is not retarded there is usually no issue about who's going mid.

That only exists in Ranked game though. It's because ranked game in LoL is captain mode. In Blinded Pick, it's still pretty much wild like Dota and only rely on call order and good faith.

Huh? Someone calls mid/picks a mid hero and if your team is not retarded they accept it and everything's fine. Even if people pick a mid hero at the same time or someone gets a mid hero random when someone else already has a mid hero it's rarely a big deal. I haven't had any issues such as mid or feed guys or dual mid in quite a while.

I thought you meant if the team is retarded but the mid player is, it's easy for even an idiot to snowball from being fed mid.

What is the requirement to play ranked again? 150 matches played?

Level 13

I think that's equivalent to 150 games without xp boosters.

Yeah, although for now it shouldn't take 150 games because everyone seems to have XP boosters. I see one in every game I play.

It also helps a lot when you play with recruited friends. And you get 80% booster for 10h at some point.

It's not (the equivalent, I mean. I think 150 games is more like level 10). Of course it depends on how LONG each game is but yeah.

The 6k+ I know of are Topson, Jerax, FATA and Beesa. Back when ratings were public Topson seemed to be the highest rated player. Of course any one of these things can have changed since then.

Ordering pick by elo adds legitimacy to the system. If you create a system with random order, and force people to follow it, players are more likely not to agree with the rules and do their own thing. Don't simply assume the willingness of a person to follow certain rules.

I was level 13 way before I had 150 games on my smurf. I did have some xp boosters but still.

I know FATA had 6.2k at some point which is what Topson had as well iirc. I also heard XBOCT has 6.2k from a friend.

I played vs XBOCT back when ratings were public and I don't think his rating was that high.

If certain rules are in conflict with the purpose of the game, then yes, its legitimate to not follow the rules A game is played to have fun, if a forced rule gives me less pleasure then before the update i will just do my own thing trying to ingore the new rules, if they punish me for it, i will just stop playing, i dont care about not playing a game with certain rules i dont like to follow because it gives me less pleasure. Your statement seems valid.
