I think that would be a great addition, especially if perhaps the top 2-4 teams, who aren't already invited to TI4 or the qualifier, got an invite to the qualifier and they play against other "invited" pro teams. I can imagine that there would be a lot of interest from the lower tier pro teams and even some mid tier pro teams who aren't sure they would get an invite to either the main event or a qualifier. It would have legitimacy because you would have actual pro teams competing in it a bit like when shoutcraft did the top ranked GM thing in sc2. How many pro/semi-pro teams don't get an invite to TI4 or a qualifier? I bet it enough to make a ladder system worth doing.

Read the news: "Win/loss is the primary criteria used to update MMR, but individual performance also plays a role, especially when our uncertainty about your MMR is high. It is possible for an individual MMR to increase after a loss or decrease after a win, but in general the winning team’s average MMR will increase and the losing team’s MMR will decrease." Furthermore: "Fortunately, we gather a lot of it. For example, you might wonder how we determined how to adjust effective MMRs to account for the fact that players in a party tend to perform better than players of equivalent skill queuing solo."

I gained 20ish mmr with a loss as puck, but the rest of my team were just awful from minute 1. It might also work differently with stack mmr, since it takes the group effort into account no?

I gained 20ish mmr with a loss as puck, but the rest of my team were just awful from minute 1. a 15 5 16 pudge cant be awefull when losing. U need to land alot of combos to get that kda on a losing team. That takes some skill. I think we should just get used to the fact that MMR is not based on personal skill but on win/loss ratio, u only have a slight influence over your own MMR (maybe overtime this will get less because more data or something like that). When stacked u have a big advantage in ranked MM atm, so if u play for a higher MMR like in sc2, then go play ranked with friends. It will boost MMR automatically, because u have less idiots/retards on your team and more cooperation (and prob. maybe even more fun). It could mean the people that like soloplay, will have a lower MMR-number now then there actual MMR. U are at an disadvantange against the stacked teams. I have experienced that the nonranked games are less bitchy in random draft without MM then the old AP. Even seeing lowlevel balanced teams sometimes (not the 5carry strat). So, in a way, Not-MMR seems more relaxed but it could be placebo, dunno yet for sure.

They were still forgiving of my mistakes. this. also had a great experience so far. i actually wanna play right now, the motivation is back. i even had a game in which the enemy team had 15k gold lead and we came back in the end and won. before ranked people often didnt care when behind and afked. i only play AP, haven't tried cm/cd.
