Actually i was content with a low rating so i could ascend the ladder. Since im only on page 10-20 right now in live matches more or less i would guess the top players have 5000+ rating. | ||

Honestly I had more fun just matchmaking (very high bracket) before Ranked was a thing. The search time was faster and the players within the teams were closer in skill level. The smaller number of variable you pick, the longer the queue takes. For instance if ur only searching CM and CD on USE, you will take way longer on average than most because most of the ranked players atm are just playing AP to get their 10 games done as fast as possible. Once the system has been in a while, more and more will move to CM and CD and ur queue times will shorten somewhat. If you add more servers or more mode options, ur queue will go down but you will be playing a lot of AP ;p I've actually found that queuing all 3 i get roughly 1/3 of each game type, which isn't so bad and exactly what you would hope for statistically ;p | ||

At the same time the ranked matchmaking ladder is now the most competitive mode accessible to the average player, so I'm not surprised if people go into there with the intent to pull out TI4 winning compositions and what not. | ||

Oh I'm sure there's a good % that will take ladder more seriously than normal unranked, but my point was its rather common even in "serious ladder mode" to find people good enough they want to try something weird or new that might interest them. It even happens in pro tournaments with huge money on the line, I'm sure it would happen in a free realm. | ||
