Last week’s WikiLeaks dump, releasing thousands of emails showing DNC officials sparring with Bernie Sanders supporters and with one another, was what finally got Hillary Clinton’s top aides to force her out Sunday on the eve of the convention.
Now, all DNC senior staffers seem to believe they’re on the verge of being fired — and that’s before the next WikiLeaks release, which many fear is coming within days, and which DNC lawyers are bracing for. Several staff members have already been asked to prepare statements about their departures.
Staff members were briefed in a Tuesday afternoon meeting in Washington that their personal data was part of the hack, as were Social Security numbers and other information for donors, according to people who attended. Don’t search WikiLeaks, they were told — malware is embedded throughout the site, and they’re looking for more data.
This was all done to influence the 2016 election, they were told. Source I'm increasingly leaning towards "wow DWS sucks" but I'm hesitant to conclude that b/c this sort of thing sounds like the blame game/ hit piece type thing that happens along with the fall of any important figure. What I would be interested to see is if there are any DNC leaks saying "wow Debbie's such a twit" or the like. I'm sure that with a little effort you could find a ton of stories that describe her in very unflattering terms. She is uniquely unlikable.

It wasn't a prominent headline. When I say not many people care, I'm talking about the electorate. Where was there actually a media story about which candidate has more subreddit members?

Though the longer this goes with only stories like this, gross but not criminal, the public will become desensitized to them. There is only so many ways they can point out she sucks.

I'm gonna expect her to completely ignore Bernie sanders and his supporters, and the shitty behavior by DNC. It will prove the point that dws resignation was simply for show, to avoid the issue rather than replace her with someone more fair. I'd be very surprised if she even mentions any of the above, but if she really exceeds my expectations and apologizes to Bernie sanders supporters, I'll eat my shoe and take a ban.

Turkey’s foreign and justice ministers are due to travel to the US to demand the extradition of Fethullah Gülen, the US-based Turkish imam accused by the government of masterminding the abortive coup attempt that led to the deaths of 265 people and the dismissal of tens of thousands of public servants.
The Turkish justice minister Bekir Bozdag on Thursday accused Gülen of plotting the coup for decades, and said he would have returned to Turkey if the military plotters had not been thwarted. He had warned that Gülen, who has lived in rural Pennyslvania for years, could flee the US to seek political asylum to Australia, Mexico, Canada, South Africa or Egypt.
Turkish officials say they regard the evidence of Gülen complicity as overwhelming, and that any failure by the US to cooperate with the extradition will have long-term consequences for Turkish-US diplomatic relations.
The US has denied any prior knowledge of the coup attempt, but Turkish officials have noted that the coup plotters included senior Turkish officers at the strategic Incirlik air base used by US fighter jets to bomb Syria.

What do you seriously expect her to say in a nomination acceptance speech on the issue? What is reasonable to expect and would satisfy you?

I'm surprised that they actually got DWS out, given how stubbornly her supporters refused a future without her leading the party. I don't expect Hillary to do anything but to give her a golden parachute while drawing attention away from the issue as well as she can.

and while DWS lands softly in her golden parachute, HRC's untrustworthiness will soon escape earth's gravity

She doesn't have to apologize, but she should address the elephant in the room.

Billionaire investor George Soros has re-emerged this election cycle as a major Democratic donor, committing more than $25 million to Hillary Clinton and other party candidates and causes, according to Politico.
Soros spent roughly $27 million in a bid to unseat then-President George W. Bush in 2004 but later scaled back his giving, the website reported. Some associates of the Soros Fund Management chairman told Politico they expect him to give even more as Election Day approaches.
The Hungarian-born financier is worth $24.9 billion, according to Forbes' most recent estimate, and his return as a big-time contributor will be a boon to the party as it seeks to retain control of the White House and regain a majority in the Senate.
Soros advisor Michael Vachon told Politico that Soros "has been a consistent donor to Democratic causes, but this year the political stakes are exceptionally high."
Vachon confirmed to CNBC Politico's report of the roughly $25 million in donations so far this cycle.
Soros' charity, Open Society Foundations, did not respond to CNBC's requests for comment. Source

Apparently the DNC has been beating the RNC in TV viewers. Is that normal most years? I would have thought Trump would have swept the ratings.
