Pence isn't someone you want when appealing to moderates, he is someone who scares moderates.

As opposed to endless descriptions of the supposed moral disposition of Trump, and all the shit about how latinos can dance, how women are powerful and how black is a nice color. This is not politics, it's bullcrap. Might work because Trump is a weirdo tho.

But that might only be reaching the converted. Bloomberg is fairly representative of independents in this country. That's why he was on the podium tonight. I suppose denigrating ~75% of your constituency might be a winning move this election cycle.

This does not play a role, people are willing to forget shit, in fact I heard it was even a political strategy for some of your previous presidents (betting on the mass forgetting the bad shit you did). What people wants is to respond to specific problems, economical, political, and you need to show them that you understand and have good responses to those problem. Simply arguing that the other is bad, while the other is pushing forward his own ideas and solution, is a losing move. It's the Brexit all over again : you can't win by pointing out what's wrong with the other side, you need to show your solution to problems, not arguing that everything is okay. America is not "great" for many people ; #makingamericagreat is a stupid solution, but #americaisalreadygreat is a slap to the million of american that do like the actual state of affair.

Frankly, republicans have had problems dealing with it until now.

And still have issues dealing with it, if this post is any indication. Democrats put the screws on gun control because they believe they don't need white male votes to win election cycles. Meanwhile, the Republican Party 2012 autopsy is being burnt on a stake by their own voters.
