Sad to see the way this thread is going. It would have been better if you had kept this thread about Muslim SC2 players and invited any debate about Islam and Muslims as PMs to yourself.
Anyway I'm a Muslim originally from Pakistan currently living in Saudi Arabia. Platinum league (approximately since my 1v1 account has been smurfed to Master League Hell) by my almost GM cousin.
1. Yes and I try to keep up with the other 5 a day too but haven't quite gotten there yet. 2. No since I have never really lived in a non Muslim majority country. 3. Yes.
I would still implore you to take the questions about Islam/Muslims, interpretations of the Quran into private messages since keeping them in the thread will only result in a flamestorm.

*Protected by him
Like a father protecting his daughter from lustfull eyes by forcing a burqa or niqab on her.
The word woman and the word man are both in the Quran 25 times each, for equality. Some women are treated unjustly, this goes on in the whole world. Including Sweden a very modern european country, which gives men more pay for the same work if for say a woman worked there. What do you mean with "The way women are described in the Quran"?
You make light of the suffering of women in islamic countries. You would compare a country like Pakistan to Sweden?
In Sweden they earn slightly less and this gap is closing very fast.
In Pakistan research shows that as many as 90% of husbands beat their wife.
In America, women earn slightly less, again, the gap is closing. In Saudi-Arabia they must cover themselves and are not allowed to drive.
I thought you said islam was about love and unity. You don't show much love or unity for your sisters in islam when you make light of their plight and compare their situation to that of Swedish women.
There's no way to missinterpret "Killing innocents is haram" or "God dislikes attackers"
Therefore they're not muslims, you're wrong period.
The Qutbism followers do it without breaking a sweat. Because what means innocent?
People who preach against god are not innocent. Atheists and different faiths. People who twist the words of god are devil worshippers. All Shia muslims. People who call themselves muslims but are not a 100% dedicated to their faith are working against god. All muslims that are not on their side.
Islam is not as clearcut as you like to make it out. There are many different streams of islam. At the head of each of those branches are people that spend their entire lives learning about islam. Some of them can recite the book entirely out of memory.
But in comes you. You supposedly know better then people that can recite the quran from memory, cover to cover.
Why would a guy who claims he is muslim (But is really not) that preaches to kill innocents and stuff, claim that a muslim who is following morals AND the Quran, where he has etiquette which is written in the quran, and wouldn't hurt a fly or break a twig because you're hurting life forms, is not a muslim? What retard kuffars (Disbeliever) have you been speaking with? Trying to change the quran and stuff.
Because those muslims think exactly what you think.
Why would this person preach that he is a muslims when he clearly doesn't understand the texts.
The difference being that most of these fanatics have spend a lot more time with these scriptures which makes their views carry more weight then yours.

I'd like to ask something else. I watched an interview with Fadel Suliman who asserted that Allah is the same god as the god of the jews and christians but that the koran is the one true book since there as flaws and inaccuracies in the Koran. (Would you agree to this?) He also said we should look at the New Testament to be an upgrade (I think he compared it to windows vista coming out after windows xp) of the Torah and the Koran to again be an upgrade of that (Would you agree to this?). Assuming you (and other Muslims) would hold this same vision, why aren't you all Mormons?

There might not be a way to misinterpret those statements. However there are many ways to misrepresent innocents as people who are in some way not innocent and are guilty of something and there are many ways to make attackers appear as defenders - thus justifying murder and violence from a religious standpoint. Words are fickle. People will read them as they choose, one way or the other.
How can you misinterpret "Innocents" what have you been smoking and is it halal? If so I would like some.
You can in no way make attackers look like defenders, unless you're a zionist, they're very good at that.

Oh hey a moderator, thank god I've been looking for one, can you please regulate the thread a little like the Gay starcraft thread, because there's a few trolls and some people who throw insults in here and go off topic.
To your question. I believe simply in the Quran, the prophets, god and the hadiths. Religion isn't something you upgrade, god wouldn't need to upgrade his word that's why the quran is unchanged. God would've made XP so good you wouldn't need Vista. Christians jews and muslims have the same god yes but there are some differences in basic beliefs between the 3.
"Like a father protecting his daughter from lustfull eyes by forcing a burqa or niqab on her."
These people don't even give 2 shits about what I write, you're in such a hurry to get out your own opinions. You're not allowed to force somebody to wear a hijab, and none of the prophets (SAW) wives wore a Burqa or Niqab, so I feel that is unnecessary, but it could be safe, if a woman is so beautiful (Talking Jessica Alba beautiful) that she is in danger of being raped, she can wear the Niqab or Burqa to hide her beauty, but she has to want it herself same with hijab, it is haram to force one upon females.
"In Pakistan research shows that as many as 90% of husbands beat their wife." A muslim is not allowed to beat his wife, he is only allowed to tap a sewak (A kind of wooden small toothbrush) on her cheek to show her his disapproval of her actions IF she did something wrong, now I'm talking about a tap that doesn't hurt, just to show like "See what you made me do" yet the prophet (SAW) didn't hit any of his wives.
"In Saudi-Arabia they must cover themselves and are not allowed to drive." Yeah cars existed 1400 years ago when the Quran came out and it clearly says in the Quran don't let women drive cars and then on then next page is a blueprint for a car.

One can best take Jesus as an example to explain the views.
Jesus, according to christianity, is the son of god.
In Islam he is just another prophet.
Islam does not discredit Jesus but it doesn't hold him in quite the same esteem as christians do.
That more or less sums up their view on the previous religions of which Islam is the latest copy. They don't deny that it's true, they simply deny that those books are the final verdict on the story of god. They believe the story came to it's conclusion with Muhammed.
Some substreams of Islam believe that there will be another imam who will usher in a new muslim caliphate. The last and final caliphate that will stretch across the globe. Twelver shia islam.
But in terms of prophets it was Muhammed that changed god's laws for the last time. And only prophets can change god's laws.

Examples of this would be to limit the free speech to stop people from openly insult Mohammed despite its being accepted to insult deities ? Or removing animal cruelty laws to allow the production of halal meat? Since these movements exists I think its natural for ordinary people to not like muslims.
You were right earlier when you said that it doesnt matter if a person is black, white or what or w/e. It does however matter if hes a muslim or not since its going to impair his ability to think freely to some extent since he can only work within the pre-constructed framework of the koran. Therefore Islam is a threat to an open society. What do you think about this statement ? I think it is wrong, because it's not their original country. Islam condones free speech to a certain extent and so do every country, you're allowed to say what you want as long as it doesn't insult anybody. If you actually read about halal slaughter you'd know that halal slaughtering provides less pain for the animal because you're cutting off the pain receptor to the brain first, it's basic anatomy. I can see things out of other peoples perspectives if that's what you mean, do you think muslims are brainwashed robots who just follow the quran? I do not think all muslims are brainwashed robots. In fact I have several good friends that are muslims and they are great thinkers. The problem is that some people will follow blindly and even if it doesnt it will still build their sense of right and wrong. A sense of right and wrong that might not always be up to date with our current society. I agree with you completly on the first part. I have no problems with muslims in general but there are lots of cases where muslim communities do not interact with their surroundings in a healthy way and therefore makes it almost impossible them a part of their new country. Christianity has the same fundamental problems and Id imagine that their belivers would be terrible to deal with in the middle east for example. The problem with muslims in the west, as I see it, is that they have their set of belives and ideas thats different from the surrounding. That makes for clashes. The religion makes it impossible for them to change their standpoint and the tensions just keep on building. People talk of a multi cultural society but I think there has to be some sort of common ground for a society to work to its full potential.Thats why I think religon enhance a lot of problems. If we had no religion I truly belive we would have less conflicts in the world.

Nobody is flaming you, nobody is hunting you.
Stop trying to pretend like you are some poor victim and everyone is out to get you.
This victim mentality is ridiculous. Think about this. Maybe people are disagreeing with the content of your character, rather then the color of your skin.
Maybe people have a problem with a book that has plenty of questionable content. Pointing out these flaws is not a hate-crime.

People on the internet care too much about bashing religion wherever they can.
Any thread having to do with religion in the slightest will derail inevitably.

How can you even say this with a straight face?
You believe a book that condems all homosexuals to death. You don't just believe this, you think its the word of god.
We are all humans, except the homosexuals?

2: Why do people know you're a muslim ?

I'm Sad to see that there isn't any real discussion possible in an open forum. Put a valid concern on the table and it's either ignored, brushed aside with a one-liner or drowned with a whole bunch of PR drivel. In my opinion, anyone who doesn't questions/or isn't allow to question their believes once in a while isn't free or enlightened.
I stand by what I said earlier in this threat, as long as muslims keep ignoring the fact that there is a "bad" side to their religion its impossible to have a discussion with substance.
And again, I acknowledge that this is not purely a muslim problem. Although the OP reaction to my post does show it's not uncommon.
I grew up in an educational system where Theology was part of the curriculum and therefore had to learn about all religions. I cringe every-time when rational discussion is swept under the rug.

As I stated a few replies ago, I will refrain from answering any more questions because I feel attacked. If everybody who wanted to discuss used the same attitude as for example ; Unkkz, Ayush_SCtoss, Xodia and so on I would continue, I misjudged the TL community. You come into the discussion with a predetermined attitude. I don't like that one bit, therefore I am ending it.

I read this thread now and my first thought was like: why do you have to make a own thread only for muslims?
If you really believe we are all humans and equal than this thread shouldnt exist imho. also you wrote like: if u want to learn something about islam just ask ... people caught u offguard there and u flamed back coz u didnt know how to respond.
also you wrote something like u want to find muslims who are playing starcraft aswell in order to play with them. This is the Internet. The good thing about it is nobody cares if u are black, white, chinese, muslim, jew, gay or whatever - nobody cares. and than u come and ask for other muslims to border yourselfs out and are curious why this thread ends in such a slaughter.
If u really think that all people are equal and shouldnt be treated as races then u shouldnt post in this thread. Thats my opinion
