Greetings ladies 'n' gentlemen and Salam Aleikum to you muslims
I have been peeking through the "Gay Starcraft Players" threads and I saw some unity there, and I was thinking "Hell, why don't I make a thread like that" I want to see if there are a lot of muslims playing Starcraft 2 and what kind of leagues they are and if they want a practice partner?
Up until now my TL account has only been to lurk around and watch live streams, but it's time that I make a thread. I want to see if we are many who play starcraft.
Please don't flame in the thread, I want to have nice civilized discussions, remember what it says in the Qur'an muslims, God dislikes attackers.
1st Question ; Do you go to friday prayer?
2nd Question ; Do people BM you because you're a muslim? (That happens to me )
3rd Question ; Did you know it's Muhammed (SAW) birthday today?
I can also make use of this thread to people who want to know more about islam like, if they've heard something about Islam and want to ask if its true, step right up and ask. I won't bite, or blow myself up because suicide is forbidden in our religion.
Funfact : Did you know that Moses the jews prophet is our prophet aswell, and Jesus is our prophet aswell?
I realize there's some people who hate my religion, therefore I ask of you please don't turn this thread into a discussion about religion. This thread wasn't created for that. Follow the thread, don't go off topic.

What do you feel is harder between doing everything "by the book" and respecting every 5 prayers a day, not drinking alcohol, etc, or not doing it and potentially being viewed as a "bad" muslim?

Hello and thanks for the question. The thing is nowadays, people are so obsessed with materialism, we all like our earthly things, and who can blame us? Islam condones spiritualism and that means, we don't need anything earthly, we don't need no label clothes, but this is harder to pull off in reality. So of course to follow the stream and be like the majority of the people and not follow the Qur'An fully only on the points that you want to is easier. However if you take up a life of pure islam, you'll feel a calm aswell, in Islam you are required to do all the 5 prayers and fast and give money to the poor, but many people find this hard to do and according to the Qur'An this is because the lack of "Iman" (Belief in your heart in god) or that the devil doesn't want you to do this, so he talks you out of it (Subliminally, subconsciously)
Summary : Of course it's easier to live your life outside of the rules of the book, but many of the rules in the book are just laws that existed before they were instated to the countries. Suiciding for instance, stealing, killing innocents, killing a fly or snapping a twig. Most of the regulations in the Qur'an are just laws that came before the laws if you catch my drift, thanks for the question.
Funfact ; Did you know that it says in the Qur'An that we muslim are brothers with the christians and the jews, we are all the children of the book. (Christians have the genesis, jews have the torah, we have the Qur'An.)

Do you actually believe in the wizardry and what not in your religion or do you believe in it out of fear of social suicide?
|
Peace upon You all.
Hello GT3, nice to see you here
I am a Muslim (proud one) and I am from Palestine.
1. I go to Fajr Prayer aswell (thanks to God). 2. Not really, I got one BM as far as I remember. 3. It is Mohammad's Birthday, and it is an official holiday here.
Another fun fact: 1. There is a day, called "Ashora'a" Where Muslimes (Sunni) Fast all day (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fasting), do you know why? Because on that day, God saved Mousa (peace upno him) and his followers (Bani Isra'il) from the sea and Pharaoh, so Muslims Fast on that day as a thankful to God,

In Islam we believe in witchcraft, black arts. The ability to communicate with djinn (Look up djinn exorcism in youtube to see a muslim exorcism) mainly because I've seen what witchcraft does to people, if you're paranoid about getting a spell cast on you, avoid eating food other people cook, don't let anybody get a hold of a photo of you, or a hair. With one of these you can officially be hexed, this goes on for the bigger part in Marocko, Tunisia, Algeria. Beneath King Solomon's temple were some scriptures from one of our prophets, he had figured out a way to summon djinn, he wanted to keep these scriptures from people, but zionists invaded the temple and took the scriptures and treasures. That's how the witchcraft got into the world today. I've seen a guy who has read these scriptures tell me detailed of what happens when you do it etc. he showed me some freaky stuff to be honest, something a man himself can't perform. I'm very well aware that in the current state the world is in, people will think I'm crazy if I believe in witchcraft and stuff, but I've seen proof and you can read about it in the Qur'An. Lastly, I don't care what people think of me, I'm not living my life to please the people, even though I do subconsciously because what I've been told, I'm a laidback guy.
Aleikum wa salam bdair2002, very happy to see you aswell my brother.
I am also a proud muslim alhamdulilah
I try to go to fajr prayer but I'm most of the time sleeping. Friday prayer overlaps with my school so that's kind of hard aswell.
Salamat al el falistini. How is it going down there in Palestine, may god help you.
When is Ashor'a my brother?

I like whatever music genre as long as it sounds good, I like Metallica, Nickelback and so on. But I don't wear metal t-shirts or anything like that. Also wearing a sign of Odin or Thor's hammer is Shirq, meaning you're praising another god, and that is one of the biggest haram you can do.

And what are the consequences?

Ok I have a question.. Can you be a humanist if you are a muslim, and if you do, will your fellow muslims resent you?

Ok. So I read the authors previous posts here on TL. To sum it up: He thinks 9/11 was a hoax, he thinks the Bin Laden raid was a trick, he thinks Hitler didnt kill as many jews as claimed and he got banned for posting shit in the gay thread. Now to my question.
Ive read that Muslims are forbidden to ask questions. Is this true or is it misinformation? If it is true, Id imagine that most people dont abide by this rule. What are the punishment for doing so ?

You can ask many questions as you want. A cornerstone of Islam is knowledge, and you're not gonna get far without asking.
And while I'm here:
1. Yes 2. All the time, including my friends and random people on the street once or twice. You just live with it 3. Yep

Funfact ; Did you know that it says in the Qur'An that we muslim are brothers with the christians and the jews, we are all the children of the book. (Christians have the genesis, jews have the torah, we have the Qur'An.)
Does the quran not also call for muslims to never beffriend muslims and christians?
Qur'an (5:51) - "O you who believe! do not take the Jews and the Christians for friends; they are friends of each other; and whoever amongst you takes them for a friend, then surely he is one of them; surely Allah does not guide the unjust people."
Don't BFF jews and christians.
Qur'an (5:80) - "You will see many of them befriending those who disbelieve; certainly evil is that which their souls have sent before for them, that Allah became displeased with them and in chastisement shall they abide."
Punishment of hell upon doing so.
Qur'an (3:28) - "Let not the believers Take for friends or helpers Unbelievers rather than believers: if any do that, in nothing will there be help from Allah.
Loophole, you can act nice to Jews and Christians but only if you are faking it. You must never show them kindness on the inside.
But maybe that's in the translation. Maybe in Arabic this should translate into "everyone is best friends forever." Even though even scholars:
Renowned scholar Ibn Kathir states that "believers are allowed to show friendship outwardly, but never inwardly."
Page one also has a reference to how zionists (let's just call them what you mean, the jews) are responsible for unleashing the black arts on the world.
Anyway, let's not pretend any of the 3 abrahamic religions is saying that the other 2 are just as cool. It's one out of 3, if you get it wrong, you burn in hell.
The only one to mention the other 2 by names is, logically, the youngest of the 3.

Answer of the OP in the "gay starcraft player" thread:
My reply to this thread would be lol.
Interesting... But anyway, i don't think this thread will last long, it's already becoming a religion vs religion vs atheism thread.

I don't think many people who call themselves Muslim keep to this rule, in the western world anyhow - like how Christians don't stone their children to death etc. From a SC perspective tough I wonder whether, for those who do keep to this rule, it would be okay to play teamgames with non-muslims?

Why is there a need for people to incorporate themselves with an idea like religion, sex preference or race?
It's pathetic. Who gives a fuck if you're a muslim, gay or black?
